Chapter 206 - Let's Get Married.

"Er..Dr. Lisa, can you send this over to Prof. Brian? He needs this data right now." One of her team members handed her a file that is sealed with an official symbol.

"Okay." Lisa took the file and walk to the third floor, which all of the project leader offices are located. She never saw her leader in person, but he had the same name as someone she knew.

She knocks on the door, and after getting permission from the person inside the office, she opens the door before she gasps afterward.

"Brian?? What are you doing here?" Lisa look back at the gold plated name in front of his office before she looks at him again. "Wait, aren't you just…driver?"

Brian squinted his eyes a bit. "Sorry, but I'm not." He said and took a file from Lisa's hand.

"But-but, why didn't you tell me that we worked on the same team?"

"I'm sorry...I don't know you were in my team, either. I often travel, and I didn't really check on who's in my team or who's not." He said. Clearly, it was all lies.

Lisa sighs. "Well, what a small world.." She murmurs and closes the door back. "Since you're my boss, I have to regard you with Mr. Brian, or do you prefer Prof. Brian?"

Brian smiles at her. "Prof. Brian sound better." Lisa nodded her head. She agreed with him. After updating him a few reporting, she went back to her workplace. Continue to study and work to make the project successful.

Half of the month has passed. With her busy schedule, she doesn't have much time to contact Harry at all. And he also doesn't bother to call her. It makes her days feel so empty without him.

'Come on, Harry..until when you gonna sulk with me? ' she taps her phone on her chin. Thinking whether she should or shouldn't call him.

She really misses his voice. When she still in a dilemma, her phone suddenly went off with Brian's name on the screen.

She scrunched her eyebrow and picked up his call. "Hello?"

"Hey..uh, are you free right now? I want to see you." He said, and Lisa looks at her wristwatch.

"Um…yeah." Well, today is her off day, and Harry didn't come to see her after the last time either. So she pretty much free today.

"I'll be there in ten minutes. Bye." He ends up the call, and Lisa went inside her bedroom. Changing her clothes to a proper sundress and wait for Brian to pick her up.

These past few days, she often spends time with him. They look like they were a couple while they're not. He's kind and sweet to her but, her heart wasn't that simple to remove Harry from inside her.

"Lisa.." Brian took her hand, and he brings it to his lips. Lisa averted her eyes from looking at the lake to the man beside her on the bench. "Marry me, please." He said and kissed her hands softly.

Lisa startled. She then pulls back her hand from him. "I can't. You know how I feel about you, right? We've talked about it." yes, she talks to him that there's a person she likes, and that's why she warned him before, not to expect more than what they have right now.

"I know. But does that guy feel the same way as you? How many years do you plan on waiting for him?" He tries to persuade her. He knows she will reject him, but that does not make him back away from his goal.

He wants her. And he will make her his. No matter what.

Sighing, she tries to smile at him. Make him understand. "Even so, I can't love anyone else other than him."

"You never try, and you never know. I'll make you the happiest woman in this world. Just believe me, I can make you forget about him."

Lisa averts her eyes back to the lake. "It's not that easy, Brian. I really don't mind waiting for years. But, I can't just live in a lie, right?"

Brian sighs. "Alright. I understand. How about this, you tell him your feeling, if he accepts then I'm not going to ask you to marry me again, but if he refuses..why don't you give me a chance? I'll prove it to you. I can change your heart."

Lisa turned silent. She doesn't know how to answer him. Brian was still waiting for her answer, which then she finally give up and agree with his term. Well, at least Harry will not let her marry that quickly.

The next week,

Brian drives Lisa to New York, and they arrive around nighttime. She asked Brian to wait at the outside of the building while she goes in there. If she didn't return back in thirty minutes, he needs to give up.

He shrugged his shoulder and agreed with all of her terms. Well, this is what's best. If she really succeeds then, maybe it was him that need to change his heart and accept Caitlin. He does not lack women, after all.

When Lisa went upstairs, she couldn't stop feeling nervous and shivering a bit. Well, this is a tough job. How does she say it? Like 'Hi, Harry, I love you for a long time now, be with me?' or 'Hi, Harry..for the sake of our relationship, can you marry me? Instead of anyone else?'

She shakes her head. Try to find a perfect word to say it to him. Luckily she still has Harry's penthouse keys. And she also asks Henry before she comes whether Harry is already at home or not.

She could predict his routine schedule every day. And she hopes it still not changing after she moves to another city.

When she grabbed on the doorknob, she noticed that it'd not closed correctly. There's a small gap on the door, and she pushes it a little before she abruptly stops.

She heard a conversation between two familiar voices inside Harry's house. She leans in a bit and tries to eavesdropping.

"I'm sorry, Harry. I know I shouldn't get jealous over something like that. But, I couldn't help myself, and you know I love you, right?" Sophie leans over to him while Harry's move a step back.

"Can we…can we start over? Like before? Like how we do on your bed.." She walks a step forward to him until he leans on the wall, where Lisa was lean at the other side of it.

"I know you like how I moaned. You've said it last time. You were going deeper and deeper, and oh…I felt so good. We can have that again. She's not going to be our relationship hindrance anymore. You can have me anytime you want.." She whispers to his ear while keep caressing his chest and down to his abs.

"Oh…you're so hot, Harry. Hmm..shall we?" She wrapped her hand around his neck while smiling lewdly to him.

Smirked, Harry pulled her body close to him. "Sure, why not?" giggling happily, she wrapped both of her legs around Harry's torso.

Lisa slumps down on the floor. Again, she had to use pain to move her body out of that situation. Why she always comes at the wrong time? Why? Just for god sake, why??

She runs down while holding her tears and her voice from breaking out. The moment she went down, Brian went to her and hugged her body before he takes off his suit and wrapped around her shoulder.

"I'll send you home now." He said, and Lisa grabs his arm. Looking at him with her reddened eyes, "Let's…let's get married."

Brian looks at her face for a moment before he asked again. "Are you sure?" Lisa nodded her head.

"Okay..I'll arranges everything," Brian said and opened the door for her to get inside the car.

After he went to the driver seat, he drove the car from the side parking and returned back to Washington, D.C.

When the car moves from the side parking, Caitlin bit her lip. She saw there's a woman with Brian just now, but she doesn't know who and what's their relationship.

"Hey, you're coming?" Ramona pat on her shoulder, and she jolt her body a bit.

"Sorry, what?"

"Are you coming?" She looks at the direction Caitlin looks at. There's nothing weird there.

"Yeah. By the way, why are you inviting me today?" Caitlin innocently asks.

"Well, before you walk to the higher step of your status, I would like you to know these guys first. They are socialite in this city that you should know and join." Ramona lied to her.

"But why aren't you inviting my sister? She's your good friend, isn't she?"

"Your sister is quite busy these days..chasing over my brother..so why not, we..youngster spend our night and get to know socialite life. It's good for you to learn this. After all, you were going to marry into the Lawrence family. The most powerful household in this state, so, be happy." She grins evilly, which Caitlin thought it was a warm smile for her.
