Chapter 239 - Be Careful With Your Enemy

In a few days, Luna gets treated at Flynn's safe house. She did not ask where their location at all, and most of the time, Flynn is not home. He would go out early in the morning, return in the afternoon to give her something to eat and check on her wound before he went out again.

He returns late at night, where Luna already went to sleep. She also keeps her promise to contact Raymond each day and report to him about her condition. Of course, Luna did not tell him that the one who saves her is a man.

If not, she's sure that Raymond will throw a fit and objecting her to stay there. He already sounds sad enough to be apart from her right now. When it's finally meet weekend, Luna saw that Flynn is at home and not going out today.

She strode to the living room and sat on the couch, not too far from him. Looking at the TV screen while watching Netflix series. "Not going out today?" Luna starts after a few minutes they keep silent and let the voice from the TV filled the air.

Flynn shakes his head. "Nope. Why? You hungry?" He asked and took his phone from the coffee table. Ready to order a take out for lunch. He was absorbed with watching the TV before Luna suddenly ask him.

"A bit. But why are you here? Why not going out with your girlfriend on the weekend?"

Flynn sighs. "She's in another city. It's too far to visit her now."

"Oh…so you do have a girlfriend, huh? No wonder you look collected when I am here. Well, at least I feel a bit of relief." Luna giggled. She had a bit doubt when she had to stay here with another guy that she doesn't even know.

There are so much 'Ifs' that lingering in her mind. For example, what if he suddenly develops a feeling toward her? That is something which she really doesn't know how to deal with.

But, scratch that from her 'what if' list. She smiles while Flynn glance at her for a moment. "I already order pizza, is it okay with you?"

Luna nods. They watched the series until the delivery boy ring the house bell, and Flynn pauses the series for a second before he went to open the door. While he goes pick up the pizza, Luna went to the kitchen and took two can of sports drink.

There's no alcohol at all in his 'home,' and everything around this house looks so simple and essential. Like an emergency home. But, Luna did not pester much. Flynn letting her recuperate here is already good enough for her.

When she comes back with a drink on her hands, Flynn lifts up his eyebrow a bit. "Thought you didn't order a drink, so I went to get us a drink from the fridge." she shows the can to him, and Flynn shrugged his shoulder.

"Right. Let's eat."

Luna went to her seat again and took a slice of pizza from the box. "I've been wondering for a long time now since you wake up." Flynn starts before he eats his pizza.

"Mm? What is it?" Luna looks at him while still chewing her pizza. He always looks at the TV when Luna asked him.

"Raymond didn't marry Sarah, so why suddenly you are his wife? I remember the cabin crew said you're his girlfriend. Something like that.."

Luna stops chewing and thinking either she wants to tell him or not. But, judging from his behavior, Flynn doesn't look dangerous. He looks like he can be trusted. "Mmmm…"

"Since you already notice it, I guess I'll tell you a little secret of who I am."

Flynn did not show any change on his face. Still, he's listening to her. Understand her situation first before he could judge anything.

After all, this girl also didn't look like she's a villain person. Even though the appearance of her on the ship looks like one. 'Maybe that's what people say to not judge a book by its cover.'

"I am..Luna Wayne. Or you could find my file as Luna Robert. I'm from South Carolina, just a normal teenager six years ago. I live comfortably with my family until one day; I bump into Victoria Wayne."

"The previous head of Wayne clan?" Flynn asked while still eating his pizza.

"Yup. That's her. I help her that day without knowing who she is. And then, I got a part-time job as a waitress at the mansion on the hill not too far from the town. The mansion has been long abandon before and was bought by a rich family, but no one knows who's own the land on that hills. So, I went there and worked as a waitress. That's when I met Raymond, who's been sick because of the accident that happens to him."

"The one that gets into the highlights on the news? I thought they say that he was okay and going on a long vacation for some other reason?"

"That's the thing is, they hide about his true sickness. He diagnosed with DID, and because of that, he can't carry out the duty as he was…well, abandoned by his family there. Victoria against the idea and find a bride for him. Randomly she chooses me among million girls in these states."

"You're lucky then."

Luna scoffed. "Lucky?? well, at first, I thought I was the unluckier girl in this world." She giggles before she said again. "He was hard to understand and to communicate. We used to hate each other until finally, we overcome it."

"And there's must be a price, am I right?"

Luna smile at him. "Of course, there is. As you can see, his parents never like me, either I am Luna Robert or Luna Arista. They want to pair him with Sarah from Rochester clan because they're childhood friend and my husband's first love."

"Hmph..cliche." Flynn sips his drink, and Luna nodded her head. "Yea."

"So, how you become Luna Arista now?"

"Well, I don't know yet who. But among the family, someone orders somebody to get rid of me when I'm Luna Wayne and separates us two. Raymond was forced to undergo an illegal surgery and resulting in him to lost his major memory. Including the memory of me."

Flynn scrunches his eyebrow. "Illegal surgery? Where did he perform it?"

Luna tilts her head a little. "I don't know, but his private doctor who tells me said it's in Minnesota."

"Hm, isn't it breaking the law if someone proceeds an illegal surgery without any consent from the patient?"

"I know, but we're talking about Wayne here. So, they're a bit invincible to the law, don't you think so?"

Flynn sighs, Luna was right. They're not an ordinary family. "And then, what happens to you?"

"If you find the file about the accident that happened five years ago in Colorado, you'll find out that Victoria was announced dead and I too.. As Luna Robert, a nobody to them also died. I fake my death so that I can…" Luna stops her word for a second. Suck a big breath and say again,

"So that I can protect my child. I ran away. I ran away from Wayne and lived far away. Not until-"

"Not until he went to find you in Singapore two months ago, right?" Flynn could guess the rest of her story.

Luna nod her head. "Yeah. That.."

"So, do you know about his plan to ruin his wedding ceremony that day?" Flynn starts to ask her about the mastermind.

Luna shakes her head. "About that, I don't have any idea that he would ruin his own wedding. I was in another state at that time."

"I see." He looks back at the screen before he says again, "So, do you know if someone good enough to hack satellite to do that favor for him?"

Luna scrunches her eyebrow. "Harry might be qualified to do it, but based on his character, he won't do something like that. He's a soft and gentle person."

Flynn loses his word. 'Then, no one from Wayne can do it, huh?'

"Why you're asking about it?"

"Nothing. Just curious." Flynn smile at her, and they continue to eat while watching the TV.

"After this, please be careful with your enemy, alright?" Flynn mutter it to which Luna smile widely at him.

"Of course! I just need to make sure I'm tough again before I make a comeback."
