Myria stared at the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder without a change in expression before she cast a glance at Davis, who seemed to have calmed down.
"…"
Davis also glanced at Myria, wondering if what she said was true. If it was, then he didn't know what to think.
After all, he thought he had to lay his life if the transaction failed, but it ended so anti-climatically? How could the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder back down like this? It was out of his calculations.
'I overestimated her…? No, I don't think so…'
Looking around, he saw that no one was there other than Myria and the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder, but he could've sworn he saw someone else.
Nonetheless, he straightened himself up and cracked a nut on his finger by pressing his thumb over his index finger, sliding off something.
"Fine. I'll believe that you two have come to an agreement over my life and death. However, I am against it."
"What? Don't be foolish. We're leaving."
Myria admonished him, but Davis didn't look at her, walking towards the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder before stopping himself at a distance.
"Didn't you want heavenly lightning and heavenly flames? Although I'm unable to provide the latter, I'll stick to my words and present you with this."
"…"
The Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder frowned but then suddenly raised her hand. She captured something in her grasp, and when she opened her palm to see what it was, she saw that it was different than the life ring she returned to him.
However, it was unbound and radiated a dreadful aura when brushed past with senses ever so lightly.
"That's half my harvest. Forget the deal you have with Myria."
Davis's voice was firm. It caused the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder to turn around and look at him with amusement.
"Are you crazy? You're already out, but you're strengthening me?"
"I won't forget the deal I have with Myria." She shook her head and then grinned behind her veil, "I won't give this back either, so don't blame me. Blame your own naive thoughts because sincerity rarely works."
"Heh~" Davis chuckled.
"I agree. Then take it as gratitude for saving my life from the three Heaven's Warriors. I won't pursue you for the matter of imprisoning me, but If you do contact Myria again, consider me offended for no reason."
Davis smirked with his eyes squinted like a hawk that had locked onto its prey.
The Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder frowned in response, appearing like she was unable to believe the audacity of this man to threaten her when he was still weak.
"Let's leave."
Davis finally harrumphed, appearing to look at Myria.
She lightly sighed and then disappeared along with him as Davis took Yilla while Master Deathseeker also followed out after giving the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder one last look as though measuring her up.
"There's not many people who can trap me with formations, much less give me a hopeless feeling. You were the first one to do so, Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder. You're a formidable foe I would like to assassinate."
With a few words, he finally disappeared.
However, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder didn't appear angry or amused.
Instead, she kept gazing at the location Davis had disappeared from, and it wasn't long before a crimson-robed man appeared beside her. He appeared to be middle-aged by his handsome looks with a mustache but still exuded a kind of dread as his aura was unfathomable.
"Master, why didn't you show them their place?"
However, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder didn't seem to reply, still staring at that location.
"You could've used me, your faithful servant."
*Bzzz~*
Abruptly, Late Stage Immortal Emperor undulations surged from him as blood energy seeped out at an alarming rate as though plunging the palace hall into a hellish purgatory.
Finally, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder seemed to come back to herself as she turned to look at the crimson-robed man.
"Bloodcloud, when had you become audacious enough to suggest what I should do? Have I ever granted you that permission, or did my absence allow you to grow unbridled?"
"Oh no." Bloodcloud raised his hands in surrender, his blood energy receding, "I'm nothing but a remnant soul. How can I be arrogant in front of master?"
"You say that, but it's very obvious that you're gazing at me more and more brazenly. That is not the Bloodcloud I know."
She narrowed her eyes at him, causing Bloodcloud to smile wryly as he looked away.
"What do I, a dead person, have to fear?"
The Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder raised her hand, appearing like she was about to clench her fist.
"Do you want to die then?"
"Aya!"
Bloodcloud instantly ducked and placed his hands on his head, "Please spare my last vestiges remaining in this world. This old slave wants to see how glorious my master would turn out to be even if my true soul has passed away."
Hearing his words, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect Founder's gaze flickered with a bit of emotion.
The person before her was naturally the Founder of the Bloodcloud Family, her first slave Bloodcloud.
After she went to sleep in the Heavenly Ice Stasis Valley, he had sacrificed his life to provide the Bloodcloud Family their bloodline prowess, so naturally, she had quite a bit of overwhelming control over their souls through a karmic slave link still binding her with the Bloodcloud Family Founder's remnant soul.
"But to get what you wanted without offending him- as expected of master. Your art of unsuspecting influence has grown yet again."
Bloodcloud stood up, smiling brightly. However, it made the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder giggle ever so lightly as she dropped her hand.
"Is that the case…? It seemed like he knew what he was drinking and chose to gulp it down instead of taking it in sips or throwing it away."
"Is he that formidable?"
"Well, even if he was lacking in the head like you, there's no denying that he's an Anarchic Divergent who attracted all twelve Paragon Magical Beasts and something even more deadly. As far as I know, there's no better formidable genius than him in this world. If anything, it would be worth my life to see just how much I can influence him..."
"…"
Bloodcloud watched his master smile eerily, knowing that her bad habit had come out.
"Nevertheless, a trump card should remain a trump card, hidden inside the sleeves until it's needed. Don't carelessly roam about just because I woke you up. The Void Dust Empress might've disappeared, but she could've never left."
"Ah! I forgot~"
With the Blazing Thunderlight Sect's Founder admonishing him, Bloodcloud quickly disappeared.
