Romeo looked over at Martin who kept nodding as he answered the person over his phone with a frown.
When Martin put down the call, a sigh had already escaped his mouth before he looked at Romeo provocatively.
Romeo frowned seeing his expression, a foreboding feeling rose inside his heart.
"Don't think that a simple phone call will solve your friend's problem. You do remember who recommended your 'secret bodyguards', right?" Romeo said.
"I'll tell you what. The body guards I have recommended actually came from this same gang that has targeted your friend, even while working for you, they still maintained contact with their gang leader. So if I were you, just accept the fate of your friend and just allow them to suffer alone. Don't get mixed up with this mess, he continued with a stern face.
He sat in front of the table before pouring himself a wine. Sipping it slowly, he looked at Martin as if everything was under control.
However, opposite him, Martin who has already calmed down a little, did not even try to listen to him as he fiddled with his phone.
With Romeo's timely revelation of the security guards he trusted, Martin finally realized why there were no security guards when he called them over earlier. It turns out that they were actually part of this gang all along.
After thinking about it, he could only think of Denis and his friend. Amongst the bodyguard he recruited, it was only them who was not recommended by Romeo as he had hired them himself on the docksite before.
However, even that was not a guarantee that they were also not part of the gang. In the end, it was only Denis himself that he could trust.
Martin was aware of the man's firm and loyal attitude. It was not a wonder why he would always call Denis first when something comes up, even though he was not part of the security guards he previously hired because Denis rejected his offer.
Martin then recalled his call with Denis earlier.
He had not noticed it with the urgency of the situation but thinking carefully about it now, he seemed to have noticed that Denis seemed to have been breathing raggedly as well.
This time, he did not make a call and instead just texted him as Romeo kept on talking confidently in front of him.
[Where are you? Roland is in trouble, but they have already escaped. Abandon the idea of returning to the dock site first. I'm being held by Romeo and his men, don't worry about me though. Instead, go to this location and help them. Don't bring anyone, unless you have full trust in them. This is the location that he provided…]
After sending the text, Martin calmly pocketed his phone as he poured himself a cup of wine. Calmly sipping it, Martin looked over at Romeo with a calm gaze, as if saying, 'You fucked up!'
Romeo merely frowned in response, thinking that Martin was only putting up a front.
In truth, Romeo's intention towards Martin was indeed good. Martin was one of the persons who supported him as he became the dock site's boss, and hence he was trying to repay the debt by not allowing him to go to the dock site.
Who would have thought that instead of feeling grateful, Martin would even become mad at him for his action?
Romeo still firmly believed that what he was doing was for Martin's own good. What he did not know was that if Martin had not answered Roland's call. he would have become the enemy's accomplice in Roland's heart.
Fortunately, Martin had kept a separate phone for his business number, else, he might not have managed to answer Roland's call at all.
In the phone booth, Roland got out and told the others about the good news.
Martin would try to send some men over to fetch them. They just need to wait and hide for the time being.
Meanwhile, at the dock site, near the Divine Destiny's small jetty.
Denis and his friends had just arrived at the area, only to see the well-lit and festive Divine Destiny yacht.
Knowing Roland, Denis frowned, thinking that something was amiss.
At this time, his phone rang with a message from his boss, Martin.
Reading the content of the message, Denis sighed and said to his friends, "Change of plans. The boss is also in trouble. We'll go to this location first. Do any of you have a car?"
One of them nodded his head, "I do, but it's in the entrance of the dock site. Scar-face's men might be there."
Denis shook his head as he pointed towards the Divine Destiny yacht, "I don't think so. Look, Scar-face and his trusted members are there."
Seeing that, the others' eyes lit up. They no longer wasted any more time as they went towards the entrance of the dock site.
As they expected, no one was there to hinder them from getting the car.
Although it was only an ordinary and dilapidated pick-up truck, it was still better than having nothing.
The location provided by Martin was at least twenty five minutes away from the dock site. It was already outside the dock site and if they took the public road, even with a car, they would need at least ten minutes to arrive there.
There were eight of them in total, they fortunately managed to fit inside with the others settling at the pick-up's back.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the designated location.
Denis goes out and looks around the dim surroundings for a moment.
He found nothing.
However, just as he was about to turn around to try searching for another location, a gust of wind suddenly blew his face.
