Chapter 420: Meal

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Professor Santos clapped as he tried to get the attention of the students who were chatting among themselves as they waited for the others to arrive.

“Alright, now that everyone is here. I’ll now announce…well, most of you already know who won, but for those who are not in the know, then listen up! The first group to complete the course was Michael’s team!”

Their professor had a huge smile on his face while talking as he pointed at Michael and his group, then he continued with a stifled laugh and said, “And surprisingly, the group that came in second is actually not Chad and his group, but our group of nerds! Ned and his team!”

Ned and his team were so happy and proud that they raised their fists in the air with huge smiles on their faces, and when the now conscious Brandon saw that, he couldn’t help but comment saying, “I think they’re even more happier than when they won those contests that they attended against the other schools”

“Of course, who wouldn’t be happy knowing that you get to sleep comfortably tonight?” Lisa replied to him with a giggle while stretching her body.

“And for the rest of you who are not lucky, sorry but you get to sleep outside tonight! So I hope that you brought your tents with you!”

“Now then, take this precious time and prepare your sleeping area as you cook your lunch for the day!”

Seeing the miserable looks on the faces of his students, Professor Santos was genuinely happy inside, he didn’t want to act like a jerk before his students, but he just can’t help it!

Hahahaha!!!

“Look at that smile on his face, he must be enjoying this” Maine whispered with a snort when she saw the grin on their teacher’s face.

The other students also saw it, and they couldn’t help but feel indignant inside as they cursed him under their breaths.

“Look at that grin on his face, it’s so annoying just looking at it” muttered one student while gritting his teeth.

One female student even said, “Hehehe, those bastards…they weren’t kidding, and the urge of wanting to kill someone has never been this bad”

“He’s seriously enjoying this”

“Of course he would, there’s no teacher who wouldn’t! Students are among the top ten most annoying groups of people in the world, and that’s coming from me! A member of the student council!”

All of the students are cursing their professor as they busied themselves on preparing their tents that they would be sleeping for the night, while some blew on their sleeping bags.

On the other hand, Michael and his group, along with the nerd group made their way inside the building and started taking out things that they will be using to make their lunch.

They took out pans and pots that looked new for a place that clearly looks deserted at first glance, and washed them outside through a hand water pump that pumps fresh water from underground.

“Good thing there’s fresh water on the island or it would have been troublesome” Brandon said while washing the pots and pans on the stream of water coming out of the hand water pump, where it was made only possible through the use of pushing and pulling a long metal stick up and down.

“I was really surprised that Chad and his friends didn’t make it,” said Brandon in passing, and Ned and his group of friends who are waiting for their turn to use the water pump couldn’t help but comment on what he said, “Us too, we were actually not expecting anything when we started the short marathon earlier. So us taking second place was a surprise for us. In fact, we were also not expecting for your group to take first place knowing just how weak Brandon is, and would have drag down your group”

Brandon immediately glared at that female who talked and yelled, “Shut up woman”

The female student wasn’t intimidated and instead smiled in disdain and replied, “If it wasn’t for Michael, your group would have failed and those two girls wouldn’t even bother looking at your direction”

“Ohh~ f*ck off! You’re just jealous that we have someone as capable as Michael in our group” Brandon immediately stood up from his crouching position and retorted in anger.

“B*tch please! You’re just lucky to have met a huge thigh to hug! You literally didn’t do sh*t earlier! You even almost died from exhaustion!”

The two students started a barrage of retorts against each other as their voices grew louder and louder and attracted the attention of the students, but when they saw that it was just Brandon and the woman, they immediately resumed what they were doing like they did not hear the loud yelling in the background.

On the other hand, Michael who is watching the spectacle at the side only breathed a sigh as he had long grown used to this spectacle.

The female student arguing with Brandon is actually his third generation cousin called Mary, and of the same age and is attending the same department as the rest do.

Even Mary’s teammates weren’t disturbed by it as they just circled around the two and blatantly ignored the scene before them and just started washing the pots in their hands after Michael had left, leaving Brandon behind.

Michael made his way to where the girls were and saw that they were already done setting up their small outdoor kitchen, which was just a small campfire they made while waiting for the two men to arrive with three similarly large stones around it.

The two girls slowly stood up from the grassy ground when they spotted Michael, and Maine asked, “So, what are we making for lunch?”

Michael placed the cookwares on the ground and said, “Have you two been in Pearn Nation before?”

Lisa shook her head while Maine said, “Yeah, I went there with my parents once for a vacation, why? Are you planning to cook one of their local cuisines?”

When Lisa heard the conversation between the two, her eyes couldn’t help but shine with anticipation as she had already heard a lot of rumors that a lot of the local food of Pearl Nation is extremely delicious, but she had never once tried one before!

And realizing that Michael probably has plans to cook one of them made her feel incredibly excited and fidgety!

Michael smiled at the anticipation on their faces and said, “Yeah, I learned a thing or two before. Will the two of you lend me a hand?”

“Of course! You might not have heard of it but I really love cooking, so I have a little knowledge of it! So you can count on me!” Lisa immediately answered with bright eyes while her friend beside her nodded in agreement.

Seeing that the girls are so enthusiastic about it, Michael chuckled and said, “Does any of you two knows to clean and cook rice?”

Lisa immediately raised her hand and said, “Ohh~! Me! Me! I know! Maine doesn’t have any clue on how to do it”

“Alright, then I want you to take this pot. Go inside and open the small sack of rice that I’ve taken out earlier. Then fill this up until here, wash the rice the three times, then fill it up with water till it reached this line here”

Michael started explaining the procedure to Lisa just in case, “Did you get it?”

Lisa snatched the pot from Michael and replied, “I know how to do it, I’ve done this before so don’t worry”

After saying her piece, she quickly made her way inside the building and disappeared through the door.

Michael just watched her leave, then turned her attention to Maine and said, “Please go bring back Brandon, I’ll deal with the rest”

“Alright” Maine nodded in agreement and slowly made her way towards Brandon and Mary who are in a stalemate as they kept glaring at each other, which of course is just dumb as they are wasting a lot of time for useless things.

Michael then grabbed the chopping board with the already washed meat and started slicing the pork into bite size pieces.

An hour later, everything was done.

Michael and his group had lunch along with the other groups who had already finished their own.

Nothing noteworthy happened during that time except for the girls praising Michael’s cooking.

After lunch, they left to their own devices as they either started chatting with each other to kill time while some went for a swim at the beach.

Seconds, minutes and hours passed by as the sun slowly set in the horizon as dusk came.
