Chapter 421: Just an ordinary day at the beach?

The students were amazingly sensible as they already started making their dinner, knowing that they wouldn’t be able to do anything once night arrives as the limited visibility even with help of the torch lights would certainly limit their ability to do anything once night falls.

And also during this time, one interesting topic of conversation was slowly brought up and attracted the attention of the other students.

“Hey, it will be really dark later. Anyone interested in some ghost hunting later? I brought a few torch lights with me” said one eager looking male student, his voice just enough for the other students around him to hear.

“Ghost hunting? Will there even be any ghosts on this island?” a nearby student said with a laugh.

The student who brought up the topic of ghost hunting immediately rolled his eyes and said, “Of course I highly doubt that there are ghosts on this island, but wouldn’t it be fun exploring the island at night?”

A student passing by heard what the guy said and replied, “Yeah, but don’t forget that we were warned that island is dangerous, especially the forest around us”

“But the periphery of the forest is considered safe though”

Near them, the two instructors who could clearly hear the stupid conversation taking place can only shake their heads as they complained inside.

‘It seems we need to work extra hard tonight to keep these kids safe’

While on the other hand, Lisa and Maine, who are lying on the ground near them, happened to overhear their plans.

“They should just go to sleep after instead of wasting their energy. After all, we don’t know what activities the professor planned for us for tomorrow” Lisa couldn’t help leaving a comment after she heard what they were planning to do later.

Maine on the other hand smiled and replied, “But doesn’t it sound fun and interesting? I’ve never done ghost hunting before, and even if there’s no ghost here, just the thrill of exploring the surroundings at night sounds nerve wracking and awesome at the same time!”

Lisa, who is lying on the blanket and gazing at the darkening sky said, “There won’t be ghosts, but certain dangerous animals would certainly be present. Even if the company had cleaned up the island, who’s to say that they killed all of them?”

“I guess you’re right, but still…we’d join, right?” said Maine as she turned her body towards her.

Lisa smiled and said, “Of course we will! I just don’t know about Michael and Brandon though”

“Right, where did those two go?”

“Beats me, they were just here earlier”

At the beach near the path leading towards the campground.

There are a group of students swimming and playing around, and in the distance far away from the disturbance are two men holding fishing rods.

“Man, it’s been almost an hour and there’s still no signs of fish, even a tug is nowhere in sight!” Brandon grumbled as he walked towards Michael who was staring seriously at the ocean, more accurately towards the direction of where the end of his line was.

Brandon came into an immediate stop and looked at the large pot filled with salt water that has a few shadows swimming inside.

“F*ck, this dude…he already got a couple of them” mumbled Brandon as he crouched down beside the pot and looked at saltwater fishes around the size of seven to eight inches long swimming about inside the pot.

Splash! Splash! Splash!

“Another one!”

Michael suddenly said with a raised voice as he started reeling in the fish that continuously thrash around the water as it got forcefully pulled over towards the shore.

“I’ll help you!”

Brandon immediately made his way over to the water as he wanted to pull the fish onto shore for an easy land, but he came to a sudden halt when he saw a large shadow swimming towards him, more accurately towards the fish thrashing about!

“F*ck!”

And when he saw the appearance of the shadow, his eyes widened as he immediately turned around and let out a curse full of ashtonistment and horror!

“Sh..shark! It’s a f*cking shark!”

The head of the shark appeared from the water and chopped down on the fish in one bite!

Chomp!

The look on Michael’s face quickly darkened as he immediately yanked back on the rod, resulting in the shark getting hooked when the hook got pulled out from fish that it stole from the former, and what followed was the rod getting taut as the shark furiously swam around trying to get the hook out of its mouth along while the fishing reel produced that amazing sound when the line is getting pulled with ferocity!

Thump! Thump!

The shark was so powerful that it actually forced Michael to step forward twice that he almost lost his balance.

Michael turned his head to Brandon and said, “Hey, give me that spear over there”

He pointed at a long stick stabbed on the sand beside Brandon, who hurriedly picked it up and clumsily ran towards Michael.

“H-here, what are you planning to do with it?” asked Brandon as he handed the long stick with a pointed tip.

Michael just looked at him and took the wooden spear from Brandon before handing the rod over while saying, “Here, I’ll kill you if the shark gets set free”

Hearing him, Brandon quickly realized something and he couldn’t help but shout, “You…you’re mad! You were after a shark all along!”

He finally knew why Michael was sharpening a wooden pole into a spear earlier, and it’s purpose wasn’t to catch any fish, but a damn shark!

“The f*ck are you talking about? I just want to kill it for stealing my fish! That’s a Giant Trevally! A prized fish! How dare it steal from me?!” Michael yelled back in reply as he quickly wore his goggles and jumped towards the sea and into the water!

Brandon, who was holding the rod with tense nerves, replied saying, “It’s just a fish man, and I keep telling you that it’s a freaking shark! You’re just getting yourself killed! Dammit! Where the f*ck are those instructors when you need them?!”

The commotion on their side had already attracted the attention of the other students swimming at the other side of the island, who quickly came hurrying over to see what was going on.

“W-what is happening Brandon?!”

“Michael is trying to catch a shark! Help me convince him to get out of the water!”

“F*cking hell, he is mad! But this is awesome!”

“Yeah, go catch it big dawg!”

Looking at those people who are just making it worse, he could only squeeze out a curse..

“F*ck!”

Soon, the news spread, and all of the students immediately ran towards the beach including the professor and the instructors when they heard the news.

“Michael! Get out of the water, now!” Professor Santos yelled towards Michael who was floating in the distance, but the latter just ignored him as he once again dived down.

“This kid…”

The professor was about to explode in anger from getting ignored when a hand was placed on his shoulder, and when he looked over, he saw that it was just the leader of the instructors and said, “Why are you still here? Aren’t you going over to take the damn kid back?”

The man looked at him and said, “Let’s just watch, he must be pretty quite confident for him to do this”

Professor Santos stared directly into the man’s eyes for a few seconds before saying, “You better know what you’re doing, or else…hmmp!”

“Hello! Is no one going to even help with this thing?!”

Brandon yelled towards the crowd of people, but seeing that he was just getting ignored while putting his life on the line to keep the shark hooked, he could only cry inside.

‘F*ck…these people are deliberately ignoring me!’

What made him more mad is seeing Mary gloating over his current situation.

“Ahhh! Michael, you better do it fast because the line can’t hold it anymore!”

Brandon let out a shout of frustration after seeing that the reel is almost running out line and Michael is still there floating on the water surface once again, stalking his prey, wherever it was.

Then Brandon heard a series of footsteps heading towards him and saw that it was just Chad who was coming over, who immediately snatched the rod from him while saying, “Give me that thing, you amateur”

Brandon had never been so happy to see Chad that he almost wanted to kiss him on his cheeks, “Oh my god, thank you!”

“Thank you!”

While saying those words, Brandon fell down on his butt, panting and terrified.
