Chapter 684: Underworld Backdoor

Name:First Demonic Dragon Author:

Nyx admittedly hadn't paid attention to much of Tehom.

She had stepped out to visit her daughter a couple of times, gone out for drinks, and even taken a few walks on the street.

Make no mistake, the land beneath them all was indescribably beautiful.

By now, Nyx had seen many worlds in many different universes, all of them claiming to be the most beautiful.

However, she found that Tehom, just like it's ruler, was so incredibly far beyond comparison.

As such, Nyx did do some sightseeing if only to satisfy her curiosity, but she inevitably found that she much more enjoyed staring at Abaddon and the delectable women he married.

As such, it could be said that she didn't know much about Tehom aside from the fact that it was beautiful.

So now that she was standing in front of a small army of exactly 150 dragons, she admittedly had some questions.

Now, this was not her first time seeing the army of the Euphrates, but it was the first time she had seen them in their full number.

And right away, she noticed something about her friend Abaddon that he never really paid attention to before.

He was completely and totally insane.

'Who in their right mind builds an army this powerful...? The fact that the creator allows this lunacy is beyond me.' Nyx shook her head.

The army Nyx was staring at now was less of a force of nature and more of an incarnation of inevitability.

They were just that unspeakably powerful.

Her friend's idea to make a unit of dragons who were atleast 1/3 eldritch horror and give them armor, weapons, and nightmarish mounts was undoubtedly one of the most insane things she had ever heard of.

As if that weren't bad enough, these specific individuals were bestowed with a portion of Abaddon's own divine power.

What kind of madman thinks of something like this?!

Nyx wished with all her heart that the forces in the heavenly realms could see this scene now.

She longed to see the looks on their faces when they finally realized the futility of their war against him.

Abaddon walked to the front of the army and found his sister there.

Kanami was the only one of the men present that bore no helmet on her face.

When her brother reached her, he rested his temple against hers reassuringly.

Usually, the pair do not let their familial relationship be put on display like this, but sometimes it was hard to care.

This was her brother. She was his sister. Some things were deeper than just keeping up appearances.

He needed her to know just how fervently he wished for her safety. Just as she did the same for him.

When Abaddon and Kanami finally separated, she wore a prideful smile and placed a clawed hand over her red breastplate.

"We are ready, God. Use us as you will."

A hint of nostalgia made Abaddon's smirk widen.

He glanced to the right out of the corner of his eye and found Mira staring right back at him.

Given that she was Kanami's second in command, she also wore a helmet covering her adorable little face; but Abaddon could still see her bright red eyes staring at him in admiration.

Honestly, his daughter never looked more adorable than when she was fully dressed for battle!

With practically no one of renown there anymore, and no Odin himself to keep the place in order, souls stopped wanting to stay there and became restless instead.

And with Helheim just gone from this version of creation entirely, no one even knew whether or not the original Norse deadlands were even still in tact.

Which resulted in Hades, and every other dead deity, looking as tired and worn out as he currently was.

"The violence of these humans are capable of never ceases to astonish me... how desperately you all are in need of guidance. But at this rate, there won't be any of you left soon, will there?"

*Whimper*

Hades felt something nudge his pantleg and glanced under his desk.

There, a small black pup with a trio of heads was trying to get his attention.

It felt like this was the thousandth time Cerberus had checked on him in the last couple of days, but the correct number was one thousand and two.

"What is the use for a guard dog that leaves its post constantly?" Hades sighed.

Despite being very intelligent and understanding his master perfectly, Cerberus tilted his heads as if he were just a dumb little dog who didn't know anything.

"...Nevermind. Have you heard from Thanatos yet?"

The dog shook it's heads again.

"Of course not... Why would you have heard from the one person who could make this all easier? Iapetus and father are going to wring my neck..."

If Hades couldn't do his job efficiently, then the very beings who had placed him in charge of it would likely take his eye as they had his brother... if not worse.

He glanced at his window to the far reaches of the underworld where no light dares touch.

"I'm assuming they are still down there then..?"

Again, the dog just kind of sat there.

"Right. Why would they even bother to fill in small fry like us, eh?"

The dog barked and became excited.

"We've been over this.. just because I say the word 'fry' to you does not necessarily mean that I have French fries to give."

Cerberus kind of deflated as if it'd forgotten that particular bit of training.

"Enough play... Go back outside, you. I assure you I am fine." Hades dismissed.

Whether the dog believed him or not, it started to leave once he heard the words 'I am fine'.

...He would come back in twenty six minutes and repeat this process all over again.

Just as Cerberus started to leap through the open window, the black dog suddenly paused and glanced in the direction of the dark pit.

It let out a small but terrified series of yelps as it ran back underneath Hades' desk, leaving a trail of flaming urine in it's wake.

Hades was less concerned with his papers catching on fire and more worried about his dog who had never reacted this negatively to anything before.

"What's the matter with you, boy?? Don't you know that you're not supposed to go insi-"

Finally, Hades thought of the one thing that just might be capable of producing this kind of reaction from his trustworthy pet.

He looked towards the dark pit in the distance, and suddenly he felt like urinating too.

"Oh shit..."
