Volume 2, Chapter 7.1: Unicorn’s Horn④

Note: Someone Got Isekaied, Guess Who?

===

As the battle between 『Dancing Sword』 and 『Slaughter Circus Troupe』 had only just begin, Lambert was in the midst of training the headless horse. Alongside the minstrel Alvana, they headed toward the city.

However, as soon as Lambert sensed a battle nearby, he left Alvana and the headless horse behind. He aimed to confront the two sides of the heated battle.

Lambert brandished his greatsword with ease, readying his stance after he slashed the two masked men.

「Do not falter! Create a gap for me to snipe him!」

Lambert’s return greeting was to massacre two of the oncoming foes, causing the other two to falter.

After the two masked men surrounded Lambert, Clown—the boss of the masked men— readied his weapon in both hands.

They knew that Robin Hood’s arrows could easily pierce through the joint of the full-plate armor.

Even if he missed, the impact would at least cause a bruise on the flesh beneath the armor.

While it was true that it was hard to beat someone in full-plate armor, it didn’t mean it was a futile effort.

「We have the higher ground! Don’t get discouraged!」

Clown kicked the ground, springing into the air. As he reached the peak of his jump, he threw needles at the visor of Lambert’s helmet.

Almost at that exact moment, the masked men flanking him sprung toward Lambert.

Lambert leaped up, letting the toughness of his armor repel the needles as he intended to ram Clown in midair.

「HAH?!」

Clown never expected that Lambert could jump so high with such heavy armor.

Thus, the collision as Lambert planned.

Lambert’s shoulder struck Clown’s abdomen, and the latter’s body folded into a U-shape.

In his heavy, enchanted armor made of Organ, Lambert was like a heavy metal bullet fired at high speed as he moved around the battlefield.

Clown’s body smashed into a tree.

「GAAAAAAAH!」

Clown raised a bestial roar as he let out all the air in his lungs.

The sound of the impact alone was enough to verify he had broken many bones—thus, effectively incapacitated.

He vomited blood as his consciousness dimmed from the pain.

The masked men were dumbfounded by Lambert’s speed, as if he vanished from where he stood.

Lambert looked down on the masked men from his vantage point above, readying his greatsword to kill his next target.

Meanwhile, Robin Hood’s eyes tracked Lambert’s every single action.

The zealous expression from before had long since vanished from his face, replaced with the face of a hunter eyeing his prey.

Honestly speaking, Robin Hood had no intention of participating in this dispute more than he already had done.

He would stop aiding as soon as he was convinced that his side had already seized victory.

After all, despite his current status as wanted criminal, he was originally one of the strongest adventurers amongst the countless adventurers in this capital of adventurers.

That was why he put a restriction on himself and only went as far as giving commands and backing up his side with arrows.

He fooled around all this time for the sake of his own entertainment.

But then, a monster in the form of a man clad in full-plate armor appeared in the midst of the heated battle. Robin Hood could see through Lambert’s monstrosity with a single glance.

The moment he fired his first arrow, his fingers moved dexterously to fire the second, those movements repeated again to fire the third arrow.

Those three arrows were both fast and terrifyingly accurate.

Truly godlike archery skill.

The three arrows that would make anyone think they were fired simultaneously pierced the air and headed toward Lambert, who was still in midair right before gravity pulled him down.

「A-Amazing! There’s no way he can dodge thi-」

Upon witnessing that scene, one of the masked men separated from the group and muttered in awe as he saw Robin Hood’s archery skill.

However, Robin Hood didn’t stop there. He took another three arrows, hoisting one on the bowstring, ready to be fired, and held the other two in the gap between his fingers.

His instincts warned him that the previous three arrows were far from enough to kill his opponent.

「HAAAAAAAAH!」

And just as he predicted, Lambert swung his greatsword with ease, repelling the three arrows at once.

As Lambert displayed his monstrous reaction speed and strength, even Robin Hood—with his outstanding kinetic vision—couldn’t see the last swing that cut through his third arrow.

The moment Lambert landed on the ground, the masked man who tried to attack him had already been bisected right in half.

The corpse of the man fell on the ground, staining the ground with blood, grey matter, and internal organs.

The other masked man, who stood on the opposite side of his dead comrade, turned around to flee while screaming in despair. However, an arrow whizzed by and pierced his skull out of nowhere.

The arrowhead that was thrown with Lambert’s herculean strength could easily pierce through the masked man’s skull.

I see… He snatched the arrowhead of the last arrow he struck down.

Robin Hood failed to see that moment because it was simply too fast.

Even though Robin Hood hadn’t seen it, he roughly guessed that Lambert didn’t strike down the third arrow.

All he did was shield himself with his greatsword and caught the third arrow right before it fell, making it look like the arrow vanished in midair.

「…」

Robin Hood ceased his plan to fire the next three batches of arrows and returned his arrows to their quiver in silence.

His expression reverted to normal from the previously savage, hunter-like expression.

He took another bow, the one he carried on his back.

His new bow was bigger than a normal bow. Its bowstring was thicker too.

Both ends of the bow had gaudy metal ornaments.

It was called the Dragon King Bow.

It was a national treasure-class bow. Its bowstring was made from the whisker of the legendary phantom beast known as a dragon.

Due to its heavy recoil and the stiffness of the bowstring, a normal person wouldn’t be able to use that bow.

Instead, the power of the arrow fired by the Dragon King Bow was so terrifyingly strong that it could pierce through a rampart.

Robin Hood took a specially made arrow, crafted from mithril, from his quiver.

Normal arrows couldn’t withstand the Dragon King Bow’s destructive power. Thus, a special arrow was made as its pair.

Even someone as skillful as Robin Hood couldn’t utilize this bow’s true power.

There was a thin rope tied on the end of the arrow, and that rope was tied to Robin Hood’s arm. He readied the arrow and pulled the bowstring.

There was a gimmick in the thin rope which allowed it to disconnect on its own from the arrow once the arrow was fired.

A half-baked defense wouldn’t work against the special arrow fired from the Dragon King Bow; even full-plate armor was no different from a piece of paper.

The rope that was tied to Robin Hood’s arm bit into his skin and tore his muscle.
