Chapter 164: Last Hit

Chaloem's robes billowed around him, with the Ki he was channeling around him. It was a stark contrast to the grim aftermath of the battle, stained with the remnants of blood and gore from the defeated undead foes.

'That looked cool...' Shane commented in his mind.

The monk's staff, a weapon of both defense and offense, bore the signs of battle. Its surface was marred with scratches and scuff marks from the clashes with the Crypt Crawler Zombies. Yet, despite the visible signs of combat, Chaloem wasn't heavily breathing as if the battle was just a walk in the park.

Surrounded by the corpses of the defeated zombies, Chaloem exuded a sense of quiet power and inner peace. He, indeed, had the nature of both a warrior and a monk...

Shane wanted to start looting immediately after seeing the number of corpses around. Crypt Crawler Zombies had given him plenty of items before, so he was certainly looking forward to having them again.

However, after a few seconds, a deafening roar echoed through the cavern, signaling the emergence of the behemoth zombie, its towering form casting a long shadow over the fallen Crypt Crawler Zombies.

'Right... You're also here...' Shane thought as he glanced at the huge zombie.

This undead monstrosity, larger than most of the foes he had faced before, lumbered forward with a malevolent gleam in its eyes...

"Graahh~"

It growled while moving slowly to them... Its every step would also shake the ground beneath their feet.

"We'll test it out..." Eldrin said as he readied his weapon. He wanted Shane and Chaloem to watch and wait for an opportunity to kill the zombie. Well, he could tell that it would be quite difficult to kill this zombie with the weapons they have right now.

Sensing the imminent threat, the other elves also sprang into action, their movements were coordinated as they prepared to face this formidable adversary.

Eldrin, once again, notched an arrow. However, the arrow this time was special. It was imbued with ancient Elven Skills, his keen eyes narrowed in focus as he unleashed the first of their preemptive strikes.

Elven Skill: Starlight Cascade...

Whoosh~

Eldrin's arrow soared through the air, leaving a trail of shimmering starlight in its wake as it homed in on the behemoth zombie's vulnerable spot, its neck!

The zombie wanted to dodge or perhaps catch the arrow but it was too slow and was hit by the arrow!

Anyway, despite the elves' valiant efforts and strategic use of Elven Skills, the tide of battle had turned in favor of the undead behemoth. This zombie was not getting tired after all.

As the clash of steel and flesh reverberated through the cavern, Shane had already considered using his Laser Sniper Rifle.

However, before he could pull it out from his inventory, Chaloem finally made his move.

"Clear the path..." Chaloem said, indicating that the elves should retreat now.

The monk stepped forward with a calm but resolute gaze... He already had a rough idea of the zombie after the Elves forced it to show its might.

Despite the vast difference in size and strength between himself and the colossal zombie, Chaloem exuded an aura of certainty...

'This monk is really reliable...' Shane thought as he felt at ease seeing that this big guy was always calm.

With a strange but rhythmic breath, Chaloem channeled his inner Ki energy, a radiant aura of power enveloping his form as he prepared to face the undead behemoth head-on.

At this time, the elves had already made a path for the monk...

Huuu~

As Chaloem finished his Ki Channeling, a surge of power coursed through his body, enhancing his speed and strength to levels beyond mortal limits.

With a swift pounce, he unleashed a single but concentrated blow against the behemoth zombie. It was filled with his Ki, and the impact resonated with the force of a thunderclap.

Bang!

The huge zombie's chest caved in!

However, it didn't end there!

With a series of kicks and punches, he targeted the zombie's vital points, aiming to incapacitate the Zombie!

"Nice! Leave the finishing blow to me!" Shane said as he felt that he needed the first kill reward for this Zombie!
