Chapter 126: The Captain II

This must be the single most bad day for Kaelith, and it doesn't look like it's going to improve. His mage erected a shield in front of him and the attack that was meant for him clashed with that.

He was getting pushed back and he knew it, unlike most Necromancy, Kaelith must have a continuous supply of dead body to make undead. They don't last since his main control is in the brain the blood vessels in the body.

Maybe he'll be able to preserve in higher level in his advancement but right now, his undead last for about a month so he's at a disadvantaged when it comes to ready made troops.

But why does it have to be Ryker of all people to fight him? They are from the same set and he knew just how powerful the man is, they are both equally matched but Kaelith at a big disadvantage in a lot of things today.

And Ryker know this as well. "You can't summon, can you? The chaos god won't allow you! Then I don't need to worry! You defend on that monster so much you don't seek to build your own power! A shame."

Ryker cut down more of the undead, sometimes he just kicked or slapped them really hard on the head. Always the head. "Why don't you stop sending this small fry and just wait so we can fight properly?"

Kaelith was trying to buy time for the danmed shield to come down but it doesn't look like it's going to happen soon. His eyes darkened as he looked at Ryker, it's the truth that he can't summon the chaos monsters but he have some of his own.

One of the monsters he spent the past weeks on, "Come here, come here! Snow spider!" The space between them ripped and stretched and before the monster even showed itself it fired red bolt of energy that tore the ground and turned it in lose sand.

The head came out first and it's shaped like a woman with her half body merged with the main head. Then the rest of monster came out the the space and Ryker stood to look. "You're a big girl yes?"

Ryker grimaced, dark substances he didn't want to know covered him. "This is why no one like you Necromancer, you spread even more disease than pests. Isn't that right, Kaelith."

Kaelith was holding a sword that was made of bones. "That was the strongest monster I have currently. I've not prepared the rest, I thought I have more time."

"Come, let end this."

"You're really going fight me with a sword." Ryker raised his brows but he did as the Necromancer requested.

At the end, Kaelith lay bowed with his bone sword broken and Ryker giving him an instant mana eating potion. "I'm really happy, Kaelith. To think you'll be useful for me. My own stepping stone to promotion."

"Enjoy it while you can, Tower Guard. Do you think I will rot in that prison?"

Ryker shrugged. "Do what you like but maybe you are underestimating yourself. Your cult isn't the most strongest and it's influence decrease as the one climb the Tower.

"Anyway what does it matter? If you stay in prison or you are killed or freed. I'll still get my promotion. Now then, I better go meet with Thayer Argent that you nearly killed. Oh, by the way don't you think that boy's father will want you in prison?"

Ryker dragged Kaelith with him towards Thayer who was in a business talk with Lord Owen with a cup in hand. And together they all wait for the shield to be lifted.
