Chapter 90 - Boyfriend = Girlfriend?

Natalie glanced at the fl.u.s.tered look on Halia's face and then looked at the man that was lying on the floor. "What happened?" she asked.

"Sean saved me from a reporter, so I decided to make him some coffee, but he ran into the coffee table," Halia lied.

Natalie walked over and helped Sean up with suspicion. This man was grabbing his male parts in pain, but he was obviously too tall to hurt that part on the coffee table. Why was Halia lying?

"You go get changed, I'll make Sean his coffee," Natalie offered.

Halia nodded her head and quickly scurried into the bedroom.

Natalie walked over to the coffee machine and made a double espresso for the man. She then placed it in front of Sean.

Sean glanced down at the black liquid with hesitation. He wasn't a big coffee drinker. In the past, he only drank it because of Sara, and recently, he only drank it because of Halia, so double expresso was a bit too strong for him.

"What? You're not man enough to drink a double espresso?" Natalie asked.

Sean looked at the woman, she was tall, skinny and fairly good-looking, but her gaze was extremely cold. "You like Halia, don't you?" she asked straightforwardly.

Sean took a sip of the coffee and scrunched his nose as the bitterness spread through his mouth.

"Don't even think about it. Haven't you seen the bracelet on her wrist? Her heart is already elsewhere," Natalie warned.

"Have you ever met the guy?" Sean scoffed.

"It doesn't matter if I've met him. All I know is, Halia likes him. I can see it in her eyes," Natalie replied.

"If he's so good, why is her relationship so secretive?" Sean challenged.

"That's none of your business," Natalie replied as she grabbed the man's coffee and drank it in one gulp. "Your coffee's finished, I think you should leave," she said.

At that moment, Halia stepped out of the bedroom in a casual pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Natalie immediately ran over to her friend protectively and grabbed her hand.

"Aren't you tired, babe. You should go to bed," she said, hinting that their guest should leave.

Sean looked at their entwined hands and felt a pang of jealousy. That was right, Natalie was rumored to be a lesbian.

"Sean needs an access card to use the elevator, can you show him out?" Halia asked.

Natalie nodded before she spread her hand towards the door, "This way please."

Sean glanced at Halia helplessly, but Halia gestured for him to go.

"I'll see you tomorrow," she waved.

Sean sighed, "OK."

As Sean stepped out the doorway, Halia headed back into the bedroom. "I'll go to bed first," she yelled towards Natalie.

"OK babe, I'll see you in bed," Natalie replied.

Sean's eyes opened wide as soon as he heard this. Was he hearing things? Were they sharing a bed?

Allowing Halia to share a bed with Natalie was just as bad as sharing a bed with a man!

"Are you sharing a bed?" Sean asked.

"It's none of your business," Natalie replied.

Natalie walked Sean over to the elevator and swiped her card for him.

"Keep your distance buddy. Halia's taken," she warned before she turned around and returned to the hotel suite.

Sean watched as the door closed. Suddenly, a thought came to his mind. What if Halia's relationship was a secret because she didn't have a boyfriend...but a girlfriend? Maybe he was wrong all along. Maybe Halia didn't actually enjoy kissing him, maybe she was just confused about her s.e.x.u.a.lity and wanted to use him as a test. After all, she pushed him away every single time.

Sean's eyes opened wide in shock. Could it be?

Inside the hotel suite, Natalie slipped out of her c.o.c.ktail dress and walked into the bedroom wearing only her lingerie. She had always been confident with her body and she had known Halia for years, so she felt completely comfortable around her.

As she slipped into bed beside Halia, she wrapped her arm around her friend's body. "Can I hear a bedtime story?" she asked.

Halia giggled, "How old are you? What do you want to hear?"

"I want to hear about the special person that gave you that bracelet," Natalie said as she pointed to the bracelet on Halia's wrist.

Halia held onto the bracelet and blushed a little as she began to tell her story about Jackson. Of course, she never mentioned anything about Sean being her handler or the fact that she was currently on another mission, nor did she mention anything about her memories, but she did tell her friend about how she went undercover and how she met Jackson.
