Chapter 324 - Harmless?

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
Halia, Jackson, and Sean looked at each other. They all realized what was going on. No explanation was needed. This was a place that needed to be shut down as soon as possible. Every minute it remained open, another illegal deal was being made.

So, Halia quickly took a few more photos and the three of them scurried out of there.

As soon as they returned to their hotel room, Halia forwarded the photos to Trisha and explained everything to Jackson. Including how Trojan's memory was triggered as soon as she saw Joel Gabriel Santos' name at the airport and how she saw the two men working together to open this resort.

Jackson sighed. He thought they had escaped work, but he forgot about the memories that were still inside his wife's head. With them lingering in the back of her mind, they could never truly escape. But, he understood. He had been a spy too, and there were some things that couldn't be ignored. If he was in her position, he would have done the same thing too.

"Don't worry," Halia comforted as she noticed the slight frustration in her husband's eyes, "Now that I've sent these photos to Trisha, she will handle the rest. We can return to enjoying our honeymoon..."

However, just as she said this, there was a knock on their room door. Halia thought it was Sean and Natalie so she went to open it without hesitation, but as soon as she opened it, two guns pointed directly at her head...

A moment later, Joel Gabriel Santos and the man from the bar appeared from behind the two men. "Who are you and why did you steal my keycard?" the man growled.

Joel Gabriel Santos puffed on a cigar and looked at the man and woman. "Who sent you?" he asked sternly.

...

Back in Hong Kong, Avaleigh was staring at Emerson's phone screen with a tremble as Emerson picked it up and opened the image that Trisha had sent him. He was planning to discuss this matter with Avaleigh after dinner, but since she came across it, he couldn't brush it aside, so he went ahead and showed the image to Avaleigh.

It was a photo of the two of them at the press conference a couple of days ago; the day that they explained their scandal on the metro. But, in the background of the photo, Trisha had circled one particular person using the editor on her phone.

Avaleigh quickly zoomed in on the man and gasped.

"Do you know him?" Emerson asked when he saw her reaction.

Avaleigh slowly nodded her head.

The man in the photo looked to be in his 50's. He had a blue hat on his head and a black coat. His face wasn't completely clear, but it was enough for someone that knew him to recognize who he was, and it clearly looked like Avaleigh did.

"This man's supposedly been stalking you for a while. He was even captured in photos back in Korea..." Emerson explained.

Avaleigh put the phone down and took a deep breath...

"You don't have to worry about him. I know this man well," she replied, "This man..."

Just as Avaleigh was about to answer, her phone rang.

It was Officer Liang.

Avaleigh picked up with curiosity.

"Miss Song, can you drop by to help us with something again. We've received an important lead to the case and we need your assistance."

Emerson's apartment was quiet and Officer Liang's voice was particularly loud, so Emerson unintentionally overheard and nodded his head, gesturing he would drive the woman there right away.

"OK, I'll be right there," Avaleigh replied as she hung up the phone.

As soon as she did, she glanced at the dishes of food she had just finished preparing and frowned. She then covered them and quickly ran out of the apartment with Emerson. Meanwhile, Emerson looked at the food and his stomach grumbled. Avaleigh wanted to see Emerson eat her food and Emerson wanted to try the woman's food, but they both understood the urgency of the matter as they left the food behind with regret.

It didn't take long before they arrived back at the police headquarters and were seated inside Officer Liang's office. Next to her was a man that Emerson wasn't familiar with, but Avaleigh was. She had never spoken to Steven before, but she knew he was one of the paparazzi that followed her often, so she was a bit surprised to see him in the office as well.

"Steven brought some photos to my attention today of a potential stalker," Officer Liang said as she started laying out some photos.

Both Emerson and Avaleigh were quite surprised. What a coincidence. This was the second time they had been warned about a stalker today.

That was when Emerson remembered that Avaleigh was distracted earlier. She clearly knew who the man was, but she never got the chance to tell him.

Avaleigh sighed but breathed a sigh of relief as well. She thought she had been called down urgently because they discovered something related to Mimi, but it seemed they were just worried that she had a stalker. "Don't worry about him. He's harmless..." Avaleigh replied.

"You sound like you know him..." Officer Liang said.

"Yes...I know him well..." Avaleigh frowned.

"Who is he?" Steven jumped in with curiosity.

Avaleigh pointed to the man in the photos and answered confidently, "That man...is my father!"

"That's why you don't have to worry. He will never hurt me," Avaleigh replied.

But, even after Avaleigh reassured them, Steven and Officer Liang continued to look stressed and troubled. Avaleigh looked at the two with confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"

After a moment of hesitation, Officer Liang gestured for Steven to show the photo on his camera to Avaleigh. "Your father was caught entering Mimi's room at 10:24 pm last night, and we are unsure when he left..."

"Do you happen to know where he is right now? He is currently our number one suspect..."
