Shen Yin was stunned when Lian Jing hugged her.
She had not expected him to be the first person to rush in and save her.
Wasn’t he on a business trip? How did he know about her kidnapping? And how had they found her?
Shen Yin’s mind was filled with question as Lian Jing picked her up.
Meng Heng, who was at the door, had already successfully restrained Lu Kai. He pinned Lu Kai to the ground and handcuffed him.
Seeing that she was about to be taken away, Lu Kai suddenly struggled and shouted indignantly in Shen Yin’s direction, “You women are all liars! President Lian! Don’t be deceived by her. I saw with my own eyes that she was involved with two different men at the bar. She’s no different from Lin Hui. They’re both sluts!”
A deathly silence immediately fell over the scene. Many of the people who came to save her were SWAT officers who did not know her. When they heard this, they could not help but look at Shen Yin with curious or disdainful eyes.
Zou Sheng could not help but gasp. He subconsciously took two steps forward, afraid that Lian Jing would fling Shen Yin to her death if he was displeased.
Lian Jing stopped in his tracks and pursed his thin lips tightly. His cold face exuded a terrifying aura in the dark night.
He turned his head and looked at Lu Kai coldly. “If you say another word, I’ll cut out your tongue.”
“President Lian, let’s untie Miss Shen first.” Zhong Xin gulped and looked fearfully at Lian Jing’s icy expression.
He had been President Lian’s secretary for so many years. He could tell that Lian Jing was in an extremely bad mood now. Although they had saved Shen Yi, he did not dare to comfort her for fear of offending his boss.
Nothing would happen to Miss Shen, but he might not be so lucky.
Shen Yin moved uncomfortably and rubbed her head against his chest like a big cat acting cute. She looked at Lian Jing aggrievedly. “The ropes really hurt. Why don’t you untie me first?”
Lian Jing lowered his eyes and looked at her without any joy or anger. He had already wiped away the tears at the corners of his eyes. Now his wet eyes were cold again.
He grunted softly and placed her on the passenger seat. He squatted down and personally untied the rope around her hands and feet. His eyes scanned her body. He sighed with relief after confirming that there were no other wounds except on her neck, hands and feet.
Wu Zheng escorted the criminal into the police car and walked over to look at Lian Jing. He said nervously, “President Lian, we need Dr. Shen to give her statement.”
Lian Jing stuffed Shen Yin into the car without looking up. Then, he walked around the front of the car and sat in the driver’s seat. He said coldly, “Let’s go to the hospital first.” Then, he drove away, leaving Zhong Xin and Wu Zheng looking at each other.
Zhong Xin sighed and smiled as he explained on his President’s behalf. “President Lian is very worried about Miss Shen. Captain Wu, if you need to take a statement, why don’t you wait until tomorrow, when Miss Shen has had some rest?”
Wu Zheng nodded. Right now, Shen Yin’s safety was indeed the priority. It was thanks to Lian Jing’s help that they had managed to save Shen Yin so quickly.
He was almost certain that Lian Jing must have installed some kind of secret tracking device on Shen Yin, and even Shen Yin herself might not know about this.
He raised his eyebrows and looked at Zhong Xin. “Get in the car, Secretary Zhong. I’ll send you back.”
“Thank you so much.” Zhong Xin was so touched that he almost cried. His President had forgotten about him after seeing Miss Shen and had abandoned him in this gloomy spot. At the crucial moment, he had to rely on the police!
The car sped through the crowded streets. Along the way, Lian Jing did not say a word. Even when he stopped the car, he did not turn his head to look at Shen Yin as usual. He just kept frowning. His frustration made him crave for a cigarette. However, he took into account that Shen Yin was beside him and awkwardly retracted his hand.
“Lian Jing, thank you for saving me.” Shen Yin’s voice was low. The wound on her neck had stopped bleeding, but her throat still hurt terribly when she spoke.
The simple thank you was like a stone thrown into the sea. It did not even cause a ripple.
Shen Yin subconsciously looked up at him, feeling that the atmosphere between them had become very odd.
She opened her mouth, wanting to explain Lu Kai’s words, but the wound on her neck accidentally brushed against her jacket, causing her to grimace in pain.
Lian Jing looked straight at the traffic light in front of him and stomped on the accelerator. He almost growled as he warned the woman beside him, who was always upsetting him, “Shut up if you don’t want to die. If you continue talking nonsense, I’ll throw you out of the car.”
