112 Discharged
“Lian Jing.” Shen Yin shouted his name as she pointed in the direction of the ward door. “Get out!”
Lian Jing glared at her fiercely, then turned. Just as Shen Yin thought that he was going to leave, she saw that he actually sat right back in his chair and picked up his chopsticks to eat. His did not even turn a hair.
Shen Yin sat alone at the end of the bed and sulked, but all she could hear was the sound of his chewing. Her nostrils were filled with the fragrance of the food, and her stomach started to growl.
She turned her head away with a blush, only to hear Lian Jing sneering behind her. “Are you trying to turn into an immortal? Come and eat.”
Shen Yin turned around and glared at him. When she saw his nonchalant gaze, the anger in her heart suddenly vanished. She sauntered over and sat down opposite him. She picked up her chopsticks again and started eating heartily.
She was hungry. Ever since she was hospitalized, she had not had a day of peace. She had to deal with all kinds of people and things every day, especially Lian Jing, who was eating elegantly.
After filling her stomach, she felt inexplicably confident. She put down her chopsticks and started to chase him away. “It’s getting late. You can go back.”
Lian Jing’s face darkened. Although he had never been interested in women other than Shen Yin, he also knew how much other women would love to force their way into their Lian family. Shen Yin was the first woman who sincerely despised him.
The despised Lian Jing sat on the chair without saying a word. He suddenly remembered that this woman had once married Lu Chen and must have done intimate things with him. A bitter tang filled his mouth. “Should I go back and make room for others?”
Shen Yin could not help but roll her eyes. Then, she crawled into her blanket and fell asleep.
Damn man. If he wanted to sit there all night, then so be it. She was a patient, and she needed to sleep.
After some time, Shen Yin began to dream. In the dream, her entire body was cold and she curled up helplessly. She was so cold that her teeth were chattering.
Suddenly, she heard a low sigh. A pair of warm arms wrapped around her from behind, generously giving her warmth.
Shen Yin relaxed and leaned lazily into the embrace. She gradually grew warmer, and she slept soundly and sweetly.
What she did not know was that she felt cold because a certain man, who was unwilling to be abandoned, removed her blanket while she was asleep. When he saw that she was cold, he seized the opportunity to crawl under the blanket and hug her to sleep from behind.
Shen Yin woke up early the next morning and was the first to look at the chair in horror. She sighed in relief when she found no one there and got up to wash up.
She felt that the dignified President Lian would not really lower himself to sit by her bed for the entire night.
After washing up, Shen Yin had a simple breakfast in the hospital. While the nurse came to change her dressing, she secretly asked about her discharge.
The nurse carefully examined her wound and replied, “Actually, you can go home to recuperate. As long as you change your dressing regularly as if you were in the hospital and pay attention to your diet, it’ll be fine.”
Shen Yin immediately jumped with joy. She had really been dogged by bad luck during the few days she had been in the hospital. Instead of waiting here to be persecuted, she might as well return to her job as soon as possible.
Although every case was dangerous, to her, staying in the hospital was much more dangerous than dealing with criminals.
Shen Yin followed the nurse to settle the discharge procedures and completed the process easily. She changed into her own clothes, took the various medicines prescribed by the hospital and walked out. She called a taxi and went straight to the police station.
When she arrived at the forensics office, Zheng Ling rushed over to give her a big hug. However, she stopped short when she saw the gauze on Shen Yin’s neck.
Wang Sheng and Han Xu were in the office today. When they saw her, they greeted her with different expressions.
While Shen Yin was away, the duties of chief pathologist had fallen on Wang Sheng’s shoulders. When he saw Shen Yin, tears welled up in his eyes even though he was a grown man. “Boss, you’re finally back. We really need you!”
Shen Yin patted Wang Sheng’s shoulder and smiled apologetically. “Thank you for your hard work. I’ll treat you to a meal after work.”
“How can I let you treat us, Boss!” Zheng Ling pouted disapprovingly. “I’ve decided. This will be my treat.”
