Shen Yin was shocked by his sudden loud voice. The chopsticks in her hand trembled, and she suddenly put down her chopsticks angrily. She pulled Shen Nian’s ear and lectured him, “Who says you can smack the table when you speak to your mother? How dare you shout? Do you need a beating?”

“Mom, spare me!” Shen Nian said as he looked at Lian Jing.

My dear father, your son has already worked so hard on your behalf. Surely you understand my good intentions?

Lian Jing coughed dryly and raised his hand to save his son from Shen Yin.

Shen Nian was feeling smug when someone smacked the back of his head. He immediately turned around in a daze and looked at the culprit in disbelief.

Lian Jing looked at him with a smile. “You have to obey your mother, understand?”

Oh no, this man was hopeless.

Shen Nian sighed heavily and felt sorry for himself.

All parents worked hard for their children, but he had to worry about his parents’ relationship.

Shen Nian really wanted to throw in the towel, but Lian Jing’s fiery gaze was burning a hole in the back of his head. It was obvious that he agreed with Nian Nian’s suggestion and hoped that he would act on it.

He silently walked to Shen Yin’s side and pulled her sleeve. He suddenly raised his head and finally managed to squeeze out a few tears. He whined pitifully, “Mom, let’s go. When I go to school, there won’t another opportunity. I really want to go and have fun!”

Shen Yin didn’t mind. Tomorrow happened to be the weekend, so she did not have to work for two days. It was just that…

She looked up at Lian Jing, who immediately looked irritated.

Shen Yin nodded and got up to return to her room. However, Lian Jing suddenly called out to her from behind. “Let me know when you’ve agreed on a place with Nian Nian. I’ll get Zhong Xin to arrange the accommodations in advance.”

Shen Yin did not comment. With his people in charge of the arrangements, she would not need to worry about these things.

She walked to Shen Nian’s door and knocked on it. The boy’s voice came from inside. “Daddy, you’re up so soon? Why don’t you talk to Mommy more?”

Only then did Shen Yin remember that Lian Jing was sleeping with Shen Nian.

Just as she was wondering if she should go in, Shen Nian opened the door and saw her. He smiled and said, “Mommy, are you coming to sleep with us?”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Shen Yin frowned, and tried to reach out and teach him a lesson again.

However, Shen Nian would not just stand there and let her hit him. He slipped into the room and said with a smile, “Then why is Mommy here?”

Shen Yin helplessly walked into the room and closed the door. “You said you wanted to go on a holiday, but you have to choose a place.”

Shen Nian frowned in distress. He suddenly thought of something, and his confused eyes instantly lit up. “Why don’t we go to the ancient town in Lin City to play?”

“What are we going there for?” Shen Yin had heard a little about that ancient town. It was said to be a tourist attraction that had preserved many ancient buildings with symbolic meanings, but how did Nian Nian know about it?

Shen Nian wheedled and shook her arm. “Mom, let’s go there. Please.”

“Alright.” Shen Yin lowered her eyes and started to pack Nian Nian’s things.

She did not need too many clothes for a two-day trip, but she still had to take her toiletries and daily necessities. When Lian Jing entered, he saw Shen Yin putting things into her suitcase one by one.

“You’re bringing so many things?” Lian Jing took Nian Nian’s clothes from her and placed them neatly in the suitcase.

Shen Yin took a tube of toothpaste from the bathroom and stuffed it in. Then, she sat on the bed and heaved a long sigh of relief. “Nian Nian and I have packed our things. Do you have anything to put in?”

Her thoughts were simple. The three of them were going on a holiday together. It would be too troublesome to bring three suitcases. It was better to put everything in one suitcase.

Lian Jing looked up at her meaningfully and placed his things inside without saying a word.

Shen Yin looked at him in confusion. Only when the three of them arrived at the hotel that Zhong Xin had booked did she realized how careless she had been.

It was very troublesome to put everything together but live separately.

Shen Yin and Shen Nian stared at the suitcase that contained the clothes of three people. Finally, they resigned themselves to fate and let Zhong Xin combine the two rooms into a family suite.
