Shen Yin sighed helplessly. In the face of Shen Nian’s concern, her determination gradually collapsed. She could only nod and say, “Alright, but you have to keep your word. You must be especially careful not to show it to someone!”

As she spoke, she glanced at Lian Jing meaningfully.

She felt that someone had instigated her son’s actions. Would this father and son team up to lie to her?

Now that Shen Yin had given in to Shen Nian’s request, he was naturally willing to agree to any condition. He immediately nodded without hesitation. “Okay! This is a special connection between us. I definitely won’t let anyone else use it!”

“Good boy.” Shen Yin stroked his hair. She leaned against the backseat and closed her eyes to rest.

The father and son exchanged glances through the rearview mirror. Lian Jing had a smug smile on his face.

Of course he knew what Shen Yin had been busy with recently. He had put on this act with his son to get Shen Yin to agree to wear that collar button.

He had no intention of spying on her. Just as Shen Nian said just now, he would always respect Shen Yin’s privacy unless it was absolutely necessary. He wanted her to wear it just in case.

He hoped that they would never need to use it.

The car arrived outside the restaurant. Lian Jing parked the car and personally opened the door for the mother and son.

The waiter saw Lian Jing from afar and opened the glass door of the restaurant in advance. The Manager personally came out to welcome them.

“President Lian, our restaurant is honored.” The Manager respectfully invited the three of them to the dining room.

Behind them, the curious waiters stopped working and looked the three of them.

“I didn’t expect President Lian’s son to be so grown up when he himself is so young!”

“That’s right! Madam Lian is so beautiful. No wonder she can charm someone like President Lian! Did you see how gently President Lian spoke to his wife? He was not stern at all.”

“I saw it too! What kind of love is this? I’m so envious!”

Most of the waitresses in this restaurant were young girls in their twenties, but many them had years of experience in the industry. They had seen many wealthy and influential figures in their line of work, but this was the first time they had seen someone as powerful as Lian Jing.

They had not expected to be lucky enough to see his son. They had only heard rumors of him, but he had never appeared in public!

He was the spitting image of Lian Jing!

The Manager personally arranged the chairs for them before instructing someone to send the menu over so that they could order.

Lian Jing placed the menu in front of Shen Yin and said calmly, “Order whatever you want. The food here is quite good.”

Shen Yin asked for Shen Nian’s opinion and ordered a total of five dishes before returning the menu to the Manager. The moment she turned around, she met Lian Jing’s gaze that was fixed on her. She could not help but laugh. “Grandpa will probably feel lonely eating alone today.”

“You don’t have to worry about Grandpa. Grandpa often ate alone before you and Nian Nian moved in. I heard from the butler that Grandpa is in good spirits today and even went to the courtyard to walk around for a while. He should be eating now.” Lian Jing picked up a tissue and personally wiped their cups and plates before putting them back in front of them.

Shen Nian sipped the hot tea in his cup and could not help but ask, “Dad, how did you get to know Mom and end up having me?”

Shen Yin almost spat the hot tea in her mouth onto Lian Jing’s face. She choked and coughed, and her face instantly turned as red as a cooked crab. She skirted the topic and asked, “Why are you suddenly asking this?”

“I’m curious.” Shen Nian blinked innocently.

He had tried to find out what had happened back then, but he could not find any traces of Lian Jing and Shen Yin having a close relationship. It was a mystery how they had him.

Lian Jing was much calmer than Shen Yin. As he patted Shen Yin’s back to steady her, he looked at his son calmly and said, “Children should not ask about some things.”

“Dad, your tone is becoming more and more similar to Mom’s!” Shen Nian made an indignant face at him.

In the past, his mother often used the excuse that he was a child to brush him off. Now his father had learned this trick too. When would he grow up? He did not want to be a child and have others look down on him anymore!

He wanted to become an adult as soon as possible so that his parents could not use this as a reason to brush him off!

The dishes were served under Shen Nian’s aggrieved gaze. Shen Yin guilty put food into her son’s bowl and coaxed him softly, “Hurry up and eat. You have to eat more food to grow up faster.”

Shen Nian glanced at her and picked up his chopsticks indignantly, venting all his anger on the rice.

Lian Jing could not help but laugh out loud. He followed suit and picked up some food with his chopsticks. He placed it in Shen Yin’s bowl and said with a smile, “Hurry up and eat. You have to eat more so that your son won’t surpass you.”
