Tea Party and Lorschel (7)
In fact, when he came out of the office, his mind was already firm.
This was because he just couldn’t stand still as he was reminded of Roelin, who would be in trouble alone at the tea party that was full of women from the Duchy.
So, he was going to do something to cheer for her even if they hadn’t been mean……
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Roelin asked with a smile as she felt embarrassed by Kergel’s gaze while sitting right next to her and staring at her.
“It’s just that you’re much more amazing than I thought. I think that you have the temperament of a fighter.”
When he was asked by Roelin, Kergel instantly brought out what he had in mind. Then, Roelin opened her eyes wide as if he was talking about someone else instead.
But Kergel just smiled and didn’t add anything else. Roelin blinked her round eyes and eventually asked as if she had thought of something belated.
“Did you see it all?”
“I didn’t really see everything. I think that I’ve only watched it from the middle.”
Kergel responded naturally to Roelin’s words. Roelin smiled at the words and straight away wrapped her hands around her cheeks. The warmth of her cheeks that heated the palm of her hands was conveyed completely.
It was embarrassing to think that he had seen what happened at the tea party. She fanned her hand to cool off the heat on her cheeks that couldn’t be cooled easily.
Kergel giggled like a naughty boy at the sight and slowly reached out. Then, he said in a low voice while hugging her shoulder.
“Don’t be embarrassed, Roelin. Because it was really cool.”
“Don’t say that. It’ll become more embarrassing.”
Roelin shook her half-hugged body. But Kergel kept on holding her tightly as he grabbed Roelin’s chin while facing it towards him before he finally opened his mouth once again.
“It was awesome. It was very nice to see that you had a platform. In fact, that’s why I had no choice but to only watch. You’re already doing well on your own, so it would be kind of weird if I were to barge in all of a sudden, right?”
“……”
Roelin looked at Kergel silently before she turned her head with an awkward expression and murmured very quietly.
“Thank you for your consideration.”
“That’s not really something to say your thanks for.”
Kergel replied in an awkward tone as he stretched out his hand that had been hugging Roelin’s shoulder and then, he bent again slightly.
‘……this is crazy.’
Kergel heaved a sigh while moving his hand as if a child was fidgeting with his finger.
The warm and soft food was already presented right in front of him and he felt like he still had to endure it.
Wasn’t she trusting him too much? No, if she was even a little conscious of him as a man, could she even do this?
Kergel looked downwards at Roelin’s little head which seemed so comfortable in his arms that made him sigh repeatedly.
‘I’m going to eat you up.’
He murmured to himself like that. And Roelin, who never noticed Kergel’s intentions, stayed still for a while and suddenly opened her mouth as if she had remembered something
“Right! Do you know what ‘Lorschel’s Night’ is? Last time, I read a book related to the history of customs in the library, but that was the only one of the old dead customs without any detailed explanation.”
“Huh? Lorschel’s Night?”
Kergel blinked while questioning Roelin’s inquiry. Then, Roelin tilted her head with a slightly disappointed look.
“You don’t really know? Oh, well, it was simply recorded in the book that there had been a custom like that back in the past.”
Roelin nodded as if she had finally convinced herself. But Kergel didn’t want to leave it that way. At least, in front of the woman he loved, it was a man’s heart to know everything and show off his good performance.
“Ah, Lorschel’s Night…… I mean, it’s… I mean, what was it again?”
What was it? What was it really? Kergel wanted to find out what she had just asked, even if he had to go through his whole head. However, no matter how much he searched through his mind, he just couldn’t remember anything about ‘Lorschel’s Night’ at all.
It ultimately meant that it wasn’t stored in any of his memories in the first place. Even so, he could still remember everything even if it was with just a single touch.
“You don’t have to force yourself to think of something that you can’t remember. Instead, you can ask someone else later. Lucy, or…… Oh! You can just ask Lord Bashel. I think he might know of it.”
Roelin dissuaded Kergel as she watched him groan while trying to remember. But her very own words had touched upon Kergel’s pride.
“………you’re going to ask Heinez?”
Kergel tried to query as if nothing really happened. But one of his eyebrows had already gone up unruly instead.
“Yes, Lord Bashel has a wide range of knowledge. Even if you don’t, I’ll be having a class with Lord Bashel later, so I can simply ask him then.”
Roelin answered Kergel’s question with a nod. For her part, she just told the truth without thinking too much. But from a listener’s point of view, the problem was the fact that it hadn’t been just that.
“Ah…… that would be a bit problematic.”
Kergel threw his words in a nonchalant tone while holding back his bubbling feelings inside.
“Heinez requested me to tell you that he couldn’t attend today’s class, but I forgot.”
“He doesn’t think that he’ll be able to teach me today?”
Roelin opened her eyes wide and asked in return. She had never heard of it. There was no such remark in the last class and they even talked a little about the protocol that they would be learning in today’s class too.
However, he suddenly didn’t think that he could take on the class for today?
