I don’t know what they teach at adventurer’s school, but Kirika-chan and Kurtz-kun aren’t going to one, so that means they won’t get the chance to learn things like basic math and whatnot… Okay, I’ll teach them if I can. They’ll need to be able to do basic calculations once the amount of losing potions goes up to hundreds of bottles. They also need to know how to calculate how much we can sell based on the price of one bottle, and more…
Right now, a potion was equal to one loaf of bread. We don’t know how much the losing potions are worth though… I have to teach them how to add, subtract, and multiply so they don’t get ripped off by other people.
Division, though… Um, it’s okay. I’ll teach it to them if they don’t hate doing calculations. I hate it, especially when you get a remainder after dividing.
「Let’s see… If I were to compare Kirika’s cooking to Yuuri’s cooking, I got about one-tenth of the same buff values from Kirika’s.」
Eh?
「One-tenth? In that case, if we eat Kirika’s food, we should get +1… I want to check right now, but it’s already getting late.」
「The food I made gave more buff values?」
Even though I was surprised, everybody else didn’t react like me.
「Well, at least we know that we can expect some sort of effect even if somebody other than Yuuri makes the food. This is incredible.」
「We need to continue studying the effects, so we know whether it’s a difference in the level of perfection, or the skill level between makers, or whether it’s a natural gifted ability…」
So that’s what they mean?
They already have several theories on why the effects were different.
That reminds me, Rofas-san had said that Bryce-kun’s magic was amazing. It’s appropriate to assume that the ability to use powers like magic was different depending on the individual.
「In that case, why don’t we get everybody to make yaki-onigiri? Then we can test out the effects of each person’s tomorrow morning.」
Everybody else nodded at Bryce-kun’s suggestion.
「Eh?」
They want to eat yaki-onigiri tomorrow morning too?
Um, I was planning to serve bread for tomorrow’s breakfast…
Well, it’s okay. I can use the bread for the bento instead.
It’s best to experiment when all of us are here.
「Sigh, this tastes so good. It’s the first time I ate something sweet and sour like this.」
Ahh, I see. Since sugar is expensive, they don’t get to eat many dishes that taste sweet.
Rofas-san hastily stood up from his seat, and began scooping out a lot of the sweet-sour sauce onto his plate.
I rose up without thinking.
If he wants seconds, I could’ve refilled his plate if he just asked me, but, wait. I felt bad for making him have to stand up during the meal.
I felt my hands get a bit sweaty in that moment.
My husband, whenever he got seated at the dinner table, wouldn’t get up until he finished his meal. If he needed anything, whether it’d be soy sauce, mayonnaise, seconds, or tea, I had to get it for him before he asked, because according to him, that’s a housewife’s job.
Once, because I was feeding the child who I was taking care of at the time, I didn’t notice that my husband’s bowl was empty.
「Looks like we shouldn’t have any children ourselves for the time being. You’ll neglect all of the housework just to take care of them.」
I remember how cold-hearted he sounded.
No, I can’t just automatically do things for others, because things are done differently here.
An independent adventurer should not do more than what is asked of them…
We are all adventurers. Everybody has to do equal amounts of work.
「Kirika wants second too!」
「Wait, me too, me too! Rofas-san, you’re eating too much!」
The two of them scrambled to get to the pot.
Ah, the situation was getting dangerous.
「Please line up and take turns. Also, if anybody wants seconds, please tell me!」
Okay. It’s not like I was trying to do everything for them. I just found it dangerous for them to fight over for seconds. It’s for their sake.
「Here you go, Kirika-chan. Next is Kurtz-kun. Rofas-san, you don’t get anymore. You ate so much already.」
*shock*.
Wait, no.
Rofas-san was so disappointed, I could hear it just by looking at his face.
Eh? Was he really that disappointed?
「Bryce-kun, would you like some more?」
I asked Bryce-kun. He brought his plate to me.
「Thank you very much. I’ll have some more. Yuuri-san, your food is really delicious. I can eat them forever.」
Bryce-kun smiled at me.
「Thank you.」
I ended up face first in a pond just to grab the lotus roots too.
…Now that I think about it, how should I dig them out from now on?
Just like potatoes, lotus roots can’t be kept for long… If I’m correct, the longest they can be kept for would be about two weeks after they’re bought.
Wait, but that’s only if they’re wrapped with plastic wrap and kept in the fridge too…
Since we don’t have a fridge here, I guess they can only be kept for a couple of days. That means I have to gather them every time I want to make something with them…
Even dried lotus roots can’t be kept for a long period of time, right…
「Uu, uuu.」
What’s that sound?
