Chapter 209: Murder Case

As her husband snored loudly while sleeping, Leticia slowly rose from her bed. From the husband’s old and ill body covered in herbs came the overwhelmingly strong smell of mint.

That’s why her body smelled of mint.

Leticia clicked her tongue and then let a leg down the side of the bed. As she did so, from between her legs a murky white fluid slid down her legs. If she could, she would have washed away this horrible thing on her legs right away, but it could wake up her husband, so she didn’t.

Leticia put on a pajama and walked towards the sofa. She reached her hand towards the alcohol that her husband didn’t finish drinking the day before, but stopped herself just short. It would be good to not drink any alcohol for a while. Even for this seed, it would be better for her to keep it inside her body as long as possible. Because that way once she sleeps with the king for one night, she can argue that it was his baby after all.

Leticia layed her body on the chair. That’s right, there’s not too long left of needing to do all this. Not long after, she will be in the embrace of the man who has the highest position in the country and not that decrepit old man.

Even just thinking about it made her feel happier. It felt like she was being rewarded for everything she had suffered through. If she can steal the heart of the king while he and the queen are not in a good relationship, then everyone who pointed at her saying she’s an orphan and an illegitimate child will all stare at her with jealousy in their eyes. She planned to enact revenge on all of them for all the suffering she had went through once she reaches that point. Of course, the queen will be the very first person to be punished.

As imaginations ran through her mind, she suddenly heard loud noises from outside. Leticia glared towards the outside of the door with an annoyed expression on her face. Just what are the servants doing in this hour that they’re making that much ruckus?

“Sire, madam!”

The butler bursted in the room. Leticia stood from her seat and sharply yelled back.

“You! How dare you walk in…”

“Madam, there’s an emergency! Soldiers area*saulting the mansion!”

The loud snoring sounds suddenly stopped. Viscount Olbach who finally awoke from the butler’s words hurried got up in the bed.

“Wha? W-What did you just say? Soldiers?”

“Oh sire. Not only are they soldiers, but it’s the royal army…”

Before the butler could even finish his words, armed soldiers appeared behind him. The butlet let out a scared gasp, before running to the corner and hiding their body.

However, Leticia stared at them as if she didn’t realize the situation yet. Just as the butler said, the symbol engraved on their chest armor was definitely one that symbolized the royal army.

Why would the royal army be here? As she was thinking that her husband must have made some grave mistake, a voice rang out.

“Are you Madam Leticia Olbach?”

It was not her husband’s name, but hers. Leticia turned her head with wide open eyes. The sharp ends of swords the soldiers pulled out pointed towards her. Leticia at last realized that the person that the person the army came to arrest was not her husband but her instead.

“I-It’s true that I am Madam Leticia Olbach…”

Right away, the soldier gestured with his chin and two other soldiers came and grabbed Leticia by both of her arms. Then they started to drag her away.

“L-Let go of me!”

Leticia screamed loudly while struggling.

“What is the reason why are arresting me for? How dare you lay your hands on a noble like me!”

“We are taking you as a suspect for a murder case.”

Hearing that, Leticia’s struggle stopped for a moment. Leticia’s lips trembled.

“Murder case?”

“We’re talking about your father as well as Viscount Olbach’s wife. On top of that, you recently attempted to murder the queen as well.”
