“…So what was the reason for you to kidnap me like this?”

Whatever had happened, now was not the time to regret having done that. Right now she needed to learn why this man who was supposed to be in Chrichton was here and why she had kidnapped her first.

“Dimitri had stepped over the line. The crown prince decided that he will give caution to him through you.”

Hearing those words, Rihannan’s eyes shook terribly. That ultimately meant that the crown prince was taking his revenge on Dimitri through her. 

“Are you saying that you’re killing me because of Dimitri?”

“Only then he’ll truly realize his mistakes in going up against the crown prince and back down after all.”

“I am not Dimi’s blood-related sister, just a cousin, so why would that be true?”

“I’m sure you know better than anyone else that you’re not just simply a cousin sister to him. Dimitri never had any interest in politics, yet now he’s up in arms, and it’s all because of you, is it not?” He made an expression as if it was all too funny to him. “Do you not know the truth that even though he had been hiding away his true potential in the shadows, he came out and won the Kiritte competition just for you?”

Seeing Rihannan’s face still filled with confusion, he narrowed his eyes.

“I had once said this in the past to Dimitri. That if I were to win the upcoming Kiritte competition, that I will ask for the hand in marriage of his cousin sister. I had said those words simply to rile him up. I was simply wondering if he would show his true skills if I were to make such a statement.”

Danil had always disliked Dimitri since long ago. To be precise, Danil was envious of him and hated him deeply.

Although Dimitris made sure to lower himself and live a life trying his best not to stand out in the crowd, Danil knew that Dimitri was simply thinking that Danil and others like him were so far below his level that Dimitri didn’t need to even bother challenging them. “If I am to win the upcoming Kiritte competition, I am thinking of requesting the hand in marriage of your cousin sister to his highness the crown prince. I liked her since long ago, that’s why.”

However, as opposed to his prediction, the woman managed to persuade the king of Arundell and left the country of Chrichton while receiving the treatment of a true queen. After she crossed the sea, Danil began to hear some of the rumours about the queen and king of Arundell from time to time. He heard that they are in a deep loving relationship together as if they were destined to be together.

During that time, Dimitris stepped into the world of politics and began to grow his power. His goal was obvious. He was aiming to stop the prince from doing anything reckless against his sister and protect her from harm. After he became Prince Ivan’s closea*sociate and started to put pressure onto the crown prince, the crown prince started to become well aware of Dimitris’s power as well.

“I can’t just let Dimitri grow like this. What is his biggest weakness?”

The crown prince began to search for Dimitris’s weak point with a nervous expression. He also was too late noticing that Dimitris had been hiding away his true power all along. Hearing that, Danil whispered into his ear.

“It’s his cousin sister Rihannan. He already once tried to run away together with her while ignoring the royal king’s order.”

“But it’s already too dangerous to try and kill the queen of Arundell. I think it would be better to just kill Dimitris directly and…”

“The death of the queen of Arundel could be a chance for you, your highness.”

“A chance?”

“It’s to solve the internal problem through dealing with enemies overseas. If she were to die by the hands of an Arundell person while on the land of Arundell, what could happen? The crown prince looked joyous after hearing his words. Crown prince always enjoyed having apt revenge on those that went against him.

To prepare for this, Danil came over to Arundell himself and attempted contacting Count Clovis. Clovis looked quite interested in hearing Danil’s suggestion that if he were to help him out in taking out the queen, Danil will help Clovis become the king.

The negotiations were going well, when suddenly the king arrested the Count and everything became messed up. Danil first made sure to rescue Leticia. He calculated that even though it would be great if she were to be successful ina*sassinating the queen of Arundel, her failure would still be useful in making the queen leave outside of the palace.

“Therefore, Rihannan Cessca. You will have to die here today.”

That was his announcement of her death. That she will be dying today. Instead of shivering in fear, Rihannan glared at him with hatred in her eyes.

“If the truth that I had died by the hands of someone from Chrichton, I’m sure that you will be in a bad position.”

“I will disguise it so that it looks like you were kidnapped by the people of Arundell and murdered. Poor farmers who were starving became tempted by those expensive clothing and accessories that you carry on your body that they ended up making a mistake.”
