Chapter 263: Our Father

“You…”

Igor gritted his teeth as he unsheathed his sword. Before coming here, when Rihannan said that she wished to give Leticia a poison, he was completely against it. He may have changed his mind a bit if it was the same poison Rihannan had taken in the past, but since Rihannan wanted to give a choice of having a peaceful death to Leticia, Igor was completely against it.

However, the person who had the right to choose Leticia’s final moments was Rihannan. If Rihannan wanted it, then there was no one that could stop her. Therefore Rihannan extended her sympathy to Leticia to the very last moment, but Leticia still betrayed her kindness. Now, Igor couldn’t find himself able to forgive that woman.

“If you wish to die, then I shall kill you right here. Just like I did in the past.”

He had planned to butcher her just like he had done in the past. Starting from just cutting off her fingers and ears, he would proceed to making her feel the most pain before she dies. She would end up begging to just have her head decapitated instead.

“Open the door!”

Hearing Igor’s order, a prison officer that was waiting outside ran in immediately. Just as he was about to put in the key to the lock of the jail cell, Rihannan stopped him by getting in his way.

“Move aside, Rihannan.”

Igor warned Rihannan with a rare expression of coldness towards her. He was planning to cut up Leticia’s limbs right away.

Rihannan shook her head.

“Stop it. You do not need to dirty your hands yourself.”

“Rihannan!”

“Since Leticia had denied my suggestion, all that is left is for her to be executed tomorrow. That would be even more humiliating disgrace for her in the end.”

In the end, Igor stepped back from the door even though he was still resenting her. Rihannan once again turned towards Leticia. Realizing that everything that she tried had turned out to be a failure, she was crying instead of showing any anger. It was tears filled with regret and sadness. Rihannan didn’t bother to particularly understand the reasoning behind Leticia’s tears. She finally realized that she didn’t need to do that at all.

“Shall I tell you a fact that you didn’t know, since it’s going to all end for you?”

“A fact that I didn’t know?”

“My mother never once seduced a man who already had a woman with him.”

“What?”

“Father met my mother for the first time at a ball. As the royal family member of the neighbouring country, he had met with an esteemed daughter of a noble family that had an intimate relationship with the queen mother, who had the most power over the country at that time. What do you think dad must have thought when he met her?”

“W-what are you trying to say…”

“That man hid the fact that he already had a woman who promised a future with him already and seduced the woman with his sugary words. Since my mother was naive, she fell for his lies. When she learned that he had a fiancee, she already had me inside her stomach. Mother thought that dad would cancel the engagement between him and your mother, so therefore she married him. Because if he didn’t, I would have been born as an illegitimate child.”

“L…Lies!”

“But even after marrying, father still kept meeting up with your mother. When my mother learned that your mother had you in her stomach, my mother tried to make your mother leave far away by bribing her with money. My father grew to resent my mother forever because of what she had done.”

“What kind of crazy talk are you saying right now?!”

“I didn’t know of this fact in the past as well. Mother never really talked about this when she was alive, after all. She was probably worried that I may feel hurt from what had happened. I was able to finally learn the details after I had crossed over to Chrichton. What father had said was all lies.”

“There’s no way. There’s no way that all of that could be lies!”

“Leticia, you already know, don’t you? What kind of person was our father?”
