Chapter 437: Lucky Bastard Rages

“Guh…gahhh…aargh!” Velcorn screamed in pain as something seemed to be extracted from his body little by little, causing him excruciating pain.

“Gedhhhh…!” Holla howled from time to time as she too was in the same state, watching a pulsing ball of light with flickering sound waved be slowly pulled out of her body.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Sonic Light!

Slowly, her Martial Spirit was wholly extracted from her body, causing her cultivation to vanish, turning her into a mortal.

In a similar fashion, a lizard covered by a murky liquid was pulled out of Velcorn’s body, turning him too into a mortal.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Putrid Crocodile!

Compass Carburettor watched everything from afar, watching the two System Hosts lose all power and become a mortal.

A fifty-metre-tall Platinum Golem condensed two cages to store the two Heaven Martial Spirits within its body, along with the cultivation technique it possessed.

Velcorn and Holla had been chased by a group of cultivators. Their Luck was significantly depleted, and hence, to find a safe place to recover their Luck, they rushed deeper into the Imperial Treasury, entering the Core Region soon after.

Due to the difficulty of the golems here, not many were able to chase after them. Unfortunately for them, the cultivators hunting here all had Earth Martial Spirits. They were the hailed geniuses from strong Clans and Sects.

Even though they didn’t recognise Holla, they recognised Velcorn, understanding that an Evil Spirit had arrived to destroy everything. The lot of them join hands to attack the two System Hosts immediately, further exuberating their injuries, forcing their hand.

Eventually, Velcorn and Holla had no other choice but to enter the centre. They were forced to do so, but it was also a fact that the strong cultivators were unable to enter this region.

After all, even though only four golems stood in the centre, each one of them were as powerful as a peak level Martial Providence Stage cultivator. And all of them were fifty-metres-tall, possessing speed unnatural for their size and bulkiness.

What was even more surprising was the fact that the luck of the two System Hosts didn’t seem to work on the four Golems.

“Wait, are they humans?” Velcorn shouted in shock.

“No, they seem to be a mixture of human and Martial Spirit.” Holla exclaimed, paling in response upon seeing the fifty-metre-tall Bronze Golem blocking the entrance while the other three golems approached them.

What resulted next was an all-out battle between the two parties, which resulted in a devastating loss for the System Hosts.

‘Why is my Luck depleting while facing them?’ This was Holla’s final thought before she lost consciousness.

This was when Compass Carburettor arrived at the scene, noticing the figures of Velcorn and Holla being dumped into a cage that began to extract their Martial Spirits.

Origin Art—Mind Connect!

Origin Art—Gloss Over!

Compass Carburettor heaved a sigh in relief upon seeing the four fifty-metre-tall golems stop moving in his direction. It meant that his Origin Art was working. But, he flinched at the Origin Essence drain. ‘I have to make a move quickly!’

Thinking as such, he focused on the closest fifty-metre-tall golem, planting a Sleeper Cell seed into it upon noticing that it had a mind of its own.

He looked through its mind, observing memories including both human and Martial Spirit there, forcefully fused into one.

He didn’t have the time to fully go through the memories for the time being. So first, he dropped a Sleeper Cell seed in each, sighing in relief when it took effect.

He maintained his Origin Art of Gloss Over until the Sleeper Cell seed sprouted. He cautiously deactivated his Origin Art, noticing the golems not targeting him anymore.

He then arrived before the cage, gazing at the two System Hosts before connecting to their minds, seeping in a wisp of his mind into theirs.

“COMPASS CARBURETTOR!”

An angry voice resounded as immediately after, his connection was cut off. “So, you want to play it this way.”

Origin Art—Mind Transfer!

Compass Carburettor poured in his Origin Essence nonstop, activating the same Origin Art twice. What he did was connect the minds of the two System Hosts, beginning to transfer the memories of Velcorn into Holla and vice-versa.

The transfer happened in two mental bridges that he had erected between them.

The Systems inside their mind raged forth, trying to prevent any memories from being transferred. At their actions, Compass Carburettor’s eyes turned vicious as he activated another ability.

Origin Art—Mental Destruction!

The Lucky Bastard System had been using its all to prevent the memories of Velcorn from being siphoned away when suddenly, a stream of destructive force slammed into the pile of memories, beginning to destroy them.

“Damn you!” The Lucky Bastard System bellowed as it riled up its power, causing the destructive power to miss its target.

But suddenly, the destructive power stopped, morphing into a humanoid figure, of Compass Carburettor that grinned while staring at it, lunging into the pile of memories immediately, destroying a chunk.

Origin Art—Mental Creation!

Using it, Compass Carburettor gave a form to the destructive energy, making it easier for him to manipulate it, preventing the Lucky Bastard System from influencing its effect through luck.

The destructive Compass Carburettor’s crash also sent a lot of memories flying away which immediately turned into a construct, a wall preventing the Lucky Bastard System from trying to escape.

“I won’t allow you!” The Lucky Bastard System shouted, causing a sphere of memories to float before it. This was a Skill that it used memories to create, activating it as the construct was shattered almost instantly.

But at this time, another wave of destructive Compass Carburettor crashed into the pile of memories, splashing a lot of them away.

Like a vacuum cleaner sucking in dirt, the memories were sucked into the tunnel whose destination was Holla’s mind.

Moreover, from time to time, memories gushed in from the other tunnel, which were Holla’s memories.

Slowly, as Holla’s memories continued to pile up, they naturally formed a cluster, slowly forming the figure of the Perfect Timing System.

Gradually, its body size continued to increase as the Lucky Bastard System snorted, controlling Velcorn’s memory fragments like bullets that it shot into the Perfect Timing System, destroying it.

But not even a minute passed when another figure of the Perfect Timing System formed before it, causing the Lucky Bastard System to scream in anger, “Curse you!”
