Chapter 47 – The uncouth lady gets a riding buddy

With the help of Kelly and Torre, the stables were completed sooner than expected.

The new stable, "Jenni's House", was built in a large, sunny location and surrounded by flowers developed by Lord Nazel. These flowers are the kind that wyverns can eat.

The inside of the house is also comfortable, with fluffy straw beds.

The improved straw beds are also plants created by Lord Nazel, but the plants he creates are limited to one generation only, so the ecosystem of Sutrena will not be changed. Fruits are also seedless.

The old, grimy stables were torn down by Torre, who turned himself into a giant.

It looked more like a sturdy cage than a stable, and there were blood stains on the walls, and it was creepy. Ha, now it's refreshing!

Lord Nazel seems to have studied agriculture in the past, and the fields in the lord's mansion are expanding. Various medicinal herbs and other plants now grow there.

When he used medicinal herbs strengthened by my magic, he said that they were more effective than usual.

However, the medicines may be too strong, so their use must be left to the judgment of the physician. I was pleased that the shelf life was greatly extended.

As for riding wyverns, I am currently practicing by going to the cavalry shed in town.

I knew the ecology from reading books, so I went to see if Jenni also fell into that category.

I knew the ecology from reading books, so I went on to see if Jenni had the same characteristics.

Then we would finish practicing how to ride, get off, walk and stop.

Because Jenni was so smart, the training on the ground was over very quickly.

The keeper was happy to compliment me on my "phenomenal learning curve!" I was happy as he praised me.

The next step is flight training, which we plan to do together as a couple.

I heard that Lord Nazel used to teach riding as well.

He is so busy with his daily work against magical beasts that he doesn't have much time to spend with me. I have not been able to confess to him yet.

I am also busy strengthening fences and buildings, training to ride wyverns, and maintaining the mansion.

But when we ride the cavalry, it will be just the two of us and we won't be disturbed.....

"Well, let's go pick up Jenni."

I plan to pick up Jenni later today.

After a final inspection of Jenni's house, I headed out to town with Torre, who was still in good spirits.

We headed straight to the town's cavalry shed to look for the keeper. He usually waits for me outside the shack, but I couldn't find him.

Was I a little early for the appointment?

The door at the very front of the hut was open, so I quietly peeked inside. I felt someone was in the hut.

"I'm sorry, this is Agnes. I'm here to pick up Jenni."

I called out, but there was no answer.

Torre, who was quick to get impatient, said "Excuse me!" and stepped into the hut.

"Torre, you can't go in there without permission."

After some hesitation, I decided to follow Torre and bring him back.

I walked quietly toward the back of the hut so as not to startle the animals, but Torre was too fast for me to keep up with him.

As I was feeling frustrated by the difference in stride, Torre stopped walking silently. It was as if he had spotted someone.

But as I hurriedly lined up to catch up with him, I saw...

"Good boy! You're doing well today, too!"

I saw Tony talking to pegasus in baby talk.

"Eeeh...."

Could it be that he was a cavalry lover like me?

There are no bad people who like cavalry beasts, probably. My liking for Tony increased dramatically.

However, Torre seemed to be annoyed at Tony's lack of interest in them.

"Ahem, ahem, AHEM, *COUGH*!"

Torre asserted his presence by coughing deliberately. I think I can hear Torres mentally complain, "What kind of a crazy idea is it to play with the cavalry beast instead of coming to meet the lady?"

But now is not the time to show our presence.

"No, Torre. This is a scene where we should pretend we didn't see it and quietly leave."

Unfortunately, Tony seems to have noticed us, though he looks back with a stiff giggle.

"But ma'am! I thought we had agreed to visit this place at this time today! Are you asking me to neglect that and allow him to play in a place like this?"

I understand Torre's point. I understand, but......

"You can imagine how Tony feels being found out doing baby talk when he's usually pouty and mean."

You wouldn't want anyone to know, would you? Tony is just acting as usual here.

"Oh, ma'am, how kind you are! Torre is very moved! But it seems that Tony is even more embarrassed by ma'am's words now?"

Tony looked at our exchange with a face that had lost much of its color.

"Don't worry Tony, we won't tell anyone about this. We are fellow ridding buddies!"

Tony remained frozen on his knees on the floor until the keeper, who had temporarily left his post on urgent business, returned.
