Chapter 48 – The wyvern has arrived

So I welcomed Jenni, a wyvern, to the mansion.

Since I could not fly alone, Tony brought Jenni to the garden of the mansion.

After getting the necessary care kit and Jenni's favorite cushion, I went back to the house with Torre.

Just as we reach the garden, Jenni and Tony descended from the sky. The garden, which Torre had helped me to maintain, was now clear of unnecessary things. Now they can land anywhere they want.

Even the mean Tony seems to be working honestly as if he was uncomfortable being heard doing the baby talk.

Jenni came to the mansion, seemed to like the wooden stables, and quickly went inside.

He folded up his pink wings and laid down on the soft, improved straw bed.

"Cute. I'll give you a carrot later, right?"

I couldn't stop smiling and thanked Tony.

"Tony, thank you for bringing Jenni here."

"Sure, sure."

Tony looked away and replied, looking offended as usual. Maybe he is being extra defensive because I asked him about his baby talk earlier.

So I responded, trying to reassure him.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about that. We are fellow riding buddies, and we will continue to love cavalry beasts together."

I smiled at him, and Tony started to wince, just as he had when we were in the stables in town.

Tony, red-faced, mouth agape. Nearby, Torre was throwing the words "Thank the madam" at Tony.

Tony looks around the garden of the lord's mansion to cover his embarrassment. It's okay, I know what I'm doing.

He then muttered with great admiration, "The atmosphere of the mansion and the garden has changed a lot."

I heard that his parents used to work for the previous lord. Tony himself seemed to have been in and out of the mansion.

"Well then, Lady Agnes. I've got another errand to run, so I'll be going now."

"Taking care of the beasts?"

It's a meeting about defeating the magical beasts. It's almost the new moon.

Henry told me that Tony's specialty is killing demons and he always takes the initiative to protect people.

His magic is indispensable to exterminating demons, so he is in an important position when it comes to exterminating demons.

"Thanks for your time. Take care."

I waved him off, and Tony walked quickly away with an uncomfortable look on his face. He was still a little pouty.

After a while, Lord Nazel returned home, just as if he and Tony had switched places.

He had finished work late yesterday, so he returned to the mansion early today.

"I'm home, Agnes."

Lord Nazel noticed me standing in the garden and walked over to me. I was glad to be able to spend more time with him.

"Welcome back, Lord Naz. ...... kya!"

Before I could finish, he hugged me tightly. I heard Torre, who was in the garden with me, say, "Oh, you're so bold!"

Lord Nazel has been hugging me a lot lately, and it keeps me on the edge of my seat every day.

"Ha, Agnes is just the healing I needed. I hope you'll spend the rest of the day by my side."

Lord Nazel looks tired, as he keeps saying "I'm healed" while hugging me tightly. I patted his head, feeling sorry for him.

"Lord Nazel, shall we go to your room? Why don't you get some sleep?"

But Lord Nazel shook his head with his head pressed against my hand.

"I was going to ride the wyvern with Agnes today."

Lord Nazel was unusually selfish. This is probably the first time something like this has happened to him.

If spending time with me will reduce his stress, I want to fly with him.

"I looked forward to the flight training and endured the hard work. The new moon is coming soon, and I want to be with Agnes whenever I can find the time."

"I'm glad to hear that. Well, I look forward to working with you, Master!"

"..... Uh- huh?"

Lord Nazel's face turned red as if he was embarrassed when I called him master. But he seemed to be somewhat pleased and reacted in the same way he did when I put on my maid's uniform.

I quickly pulled Lord Nazel's hand and took him to Jenni. It was the first time Lord Nazel and Jeni had met.
