Cyclo and Alice could only watch dumbfounded as Maria was taken away.

They felt an indescribable sense of urgency from the priests and could not get close to them.

“…… But then again, I never expected Maria to become a “saint”.”

“Hey, big brother. A saint is one of the most amazing of all the “job skills”, right?”

“Yes, that’s right. They say it’s a really rare “job skill” that hasn’t had an owner in decades.”

Cyclo answers Alice’s question.

What is this “Job skill”? As you read it, it is a skill that has a name that represents some Job.

Basically, the name of the skill indicates the effect itself, such as “Strong Man”, “Dexterous”, “Increased Magical Power”, and so on.

These skills are called “Common skills,” and one skill has one effect.

On the other hand, “Job skills” include “Saint”, “Blacksmith”, “Holy Knight”, “Hero”, and so on. The characteristic of these skills is that their effects cannot be determined by their names alone.

And — in most cases, multiple effects are demonstrated for this one skill.

For example, it is known that “Blacksmith” contains the same effects as “Strong Man”, “Ore Appraisal”, “Weapon Appraisal”, “Fire Resistance” and other skills.

For these reasons, “Job skills” are recognized as a higher level of skill than “Common skills”.

And — for this reason, there is a law in this country to prevent such special talents from being wasted.

It is a law that says that those with “Job skills” must be employed in the profession that the skill is named after.

For example, if you are a “Blacksmith”, no matter how skinny you are or a girl or how much you dislike weapons, you will always make it as a Blacksmith because your skill is so effective.

That is why they are really required by the state to work as a Blacksmith.

And in the case of Maria this time, since she is a “Saint,” she is naturally required to work as a saint of the church.

“…… I must acquire the skills to be as good as Maria!”

Cyclo said enthusiastically. It would not be appropriate if my fiancée was a saint and I was just “Dexterous” or “Strong Man”.

That’s why I want to have even better skills.

“What are you going to do, big brother? Do you want to go first?”

“…… No, I need to be a little more prepared.”

That must be why. Cyclo gets nervous and gives Alice the lead.

“Okay …… I, I just wanted to go first, not for big brother’s sake, okay? Don’t get me wrong!”

“Yes, yes, I know, Alice. Go ahead.”

Thus, Alice heads off to undergo the ritual.

She stands before the crystal and prays.

Then–again, just like in Maria’s case–a tremendous light filled the area.

“What!? Again!?”

The priest performing the ritual shouts in surprise.

After a few moments, the light subsides.

The words were floating firmly on the crystal.

Reading this, the priest’s eyes widened again and shouted.

“A-A, A “Sage”?”

–Surprisingly, following Maria, even Alice has acquired a job skill!
