79 Not again.

Chang Ah pursed her lips to see Xing Bai hesitating and berated her, ” What are you hesitating for? Are you that scared of Yang Ning?”

” Didn’t you hear what His Lord said? He instructed you to ask Yang Ning to come to the backyard and bring a wooden stick from the storage. Then why are you still standing here?” Chang Ah was irritated to see Xing Bai getting anxious for no reason.

Yang Ning is getting punished tonight. She should be happy about it since the last time Yang Ning made her get flogged 100 times.

It’s time for their revenge.

They need to teach Yang Ning that no matter what she does, she will never be able to get out of their paws and will always be inferior to them, always!

Xing Bai pursed her lips and held her head low in shame when Chang Ah scolded her and told her to do her work right.

” What are you doing? Can’t you hear what I am saying? Xing Bai, do you want to get punished ins-” Chang Ah was frustrated by her maid’s attitude and shouted at her when she still didn’t move to get on with the work.

If she doesn’t want Yang Ning to get punished, then she should get punished instead of hers. Who is she trying to protect anyway?

Xing Bai’s eyes widened in fear but she was too scared to say anything.

” Stop it.” Yang Luoyang interrupted Chang Ah and turned to Xing Bai, ” You said that Yang Ning has returned. Where is she?” He asked her.

Xing Bai nodded vehemently and answered his question, ” Yes. Her carriage just stopped in front of the Household.” She informed them.

When one of the guards went outside to do some household chores, he saw Yang Ning and came running to inform her that Yang Ning is coming back in a carriage.

She ignored his words and thought that he had seen someone else and assumed her to be Yang Ning. Because there is no way she could come back in a carriage as she went out for a walk in the afternoon.

However, after a few minutes, she saw a carriage coming to a halt in front of Yang Household.

Her eyes widened in astonishment to see Yang Ning inside the carriage and that’s why she hurriedly came to inform her Mistress and the Lord.

Chang Ah frowned at her words and asked, ” Carriage? What carriage? Didn’t she go out for a walk, then how come....” She was confused about how the girl who went out to take a walk came back in a carriage.

From where did she get a carriage anyway?

” Are you sure? What if it’s someone else’s carriage?” Chang Ah frowned at her maid dubiously.

While Chang Ah was doubtful of Xing Bai’s report, Yang Luoyang’s face darkened upon hearing this. He gritted his teeth and wore an upper robe of his night clothes before walking out of the chamber in long strides.

“Ah. My Lord!” Chang Ah was startled when Yang Luoyang suddenly dashed out of the chamber without waiting for her to accompany him.

She hurriedly put on her shoes and followed him along with Xing Bai to witness the drama unfolding. Yang Luoyang was already furious at Yang Ning for leaving the Household without his permission and coming back late.

However, her actions have only added oil to the fire. It’s going to be an exciting night.

She needs to witness Yang Ning being humiliated in front of her eyes, only then will she be satisfied.

That girl was going too far these days. Today she will learn what it means if she doesn’t follow her orders and acts on her own.

“My Lady, be careful.” Xiaowei stepped out of the carriage first and helped Yang Ning to get out of the carriage as well.

Since Yang Ning was hurt and couldn’t walk due to her injured leg, Zheng Liang arranged the imperial horse carriage for her to return to the Yang Household.

Although Yang Ning wanted to deny his help at first, however, she wasn’t in the position to do so. If not for the horse carriage, how will she walk back to the Yang Household?

That’s why she gladly accepted his help. She even asked Xiaowei to sit in the carriage along with her since she has also sprained her leg and needed a few days to heal her injury.

” My lady, what is going to happen to us now? What if the Lord has found out about what happened in the morning?” Xiaowei asked worriedly when she didn’t see Xing Bai anywhere.

She was sure that she must have gone to the Mistress to announce their arrival. Many things happened today and none of them were small enough to be hidden like a secret.

Rumors were all over the palace and Yang Luoyang must have found out about it already.

Yang Ning was adjusting her long skirt when she heard Xiaowei’s anxious words. She looked at her coolly and answered, ” So what? Why are you getting so scared?”

Zheng Liang already told her what happened when she was resting in his chamber and how Yang Luoyang created a scene outside.

“Xiaowei, don’t worry. I assure you. No one will be able to do anything to us.” She assured her with a sneaky smile.

Xiaowei was confused about how she could be so calm and composed about this situation. She has noticed this before as well. Since the day Yang Ning had a high fever, she has been acting differently and out of character.

In the past, she used to get scared and flinched just at the name of her father, now she doesn’t care about him and acts as if she doesn’t feel scared of him.

Everything feels so different as if she is a new person. How can it be possible to change overnight? She wondered.

Just as she was helping Xiaowei to calm down, she noticed Yang Luoyang walking toward them in long strides. The lights were dimmed since the sky had turned dark already, but she could feel the dark and gloomy aura coming from him.

However, she wasn’t surprised to be welcomed by such a tense and stressful environment. She seems to be adjusting well in this world to the point that she doesn’t fear anyone now.

Not even Yang Luoyang. If he has the tendency to control others, she has the tendency to be unrestricted.

She will show him what it means to be encountered by a person like him. A crazy mad woman!

Behind Yang Luoyang, she also noticed Chang Ah and Xing Bai running behind him, trying to catch up with his fast pace.

She shook her head in amusement and could see the excitement in their steps from far away.

” My Lord!” Xiaowei greeted Yang Luoyang when he came to the entrance of the household and glared at Yang Ning. His eyes were enough to express his unpleasant, more-like fuming emotions.

He disregarded Xiaowei’s greetings and noticed the golden-plated carriage that has the emblem of the royal palace on it.

Not only does it belong to the royal palace but it also has a special mark on it which shows that it belongs to His Highness, the Crown Prince.

It was a good thing that she seemed to have gotten close to Zheng Liang. However, it was not a good sign that she is ignoring his commands these days and was using the crown prince as her shield against him.

Yang Luoyang’s face was dulled seeing this. However, before he could reprimand Yang Ning, Chang Ah who was curious to see the carriage interrupted him, ” What is happening here? Why are you coming in this carriage?”

“Doesn’t the carriage belong to the royal palace?” She looked at her suspiciously.

Xing Bai, who was standing behind Chang Ah nodded as well as she was also curious about the same thing.

When she saw Yang Ning arriving in the royal carriage, she was afraid that His Highness must have come with her as well. That’s why she was fearful of carrying out the orders of Yang Luoyang.

However, it seems like she has come alone.

Yang Ning glanced at Chang Ah but didn’t answer her questions. She looked at Yang Luoyang and was waiting for him to say something.

Because she was sure that he had many things to say to her.

“Why aren’t you saying anything? Yang Ning, did you know how worried your father and everyone was? Where were you the whole day? And...what happened to your leg? What did you-” Chang Ah continued.

Just as she expected, Yang Luoyuang raised a hand to interrupt Chang Ah and said to her, “Yang Ning, come to the backyard. We will talk there.”

Chang Ah was bothered when Yang Luoyang interrupted her, but her eyes lit up when she heard his words.

That’s right. She doesn’t need to know the answers to her questions, as long as Yang Ning will be punished.

Xiaowei’s eyes widened in fear when she heard this. She held onto Yang Ning’s arm protectively and was scared that her lady would be disciplined brutally, like in the old times.

Yang Ning patted her hands, assuring her, and turned to Yang Luoyang, ” Father, pardon me for my impoliteness, however, I have to deny this order for now.”

“What did you say?” Yang Luoyang’s already dark expression became grave when he heard Yang Ning’s impertinent remarks.
