102 What could be the reason?

“Milady, Milady, did you hear the news?” Xiaowei came running and barged into the chamber of Yang Ning without knocking on the door.

She was panting heavily and her face turned red from running so much. She was in so much urgency that she forgot to knock on the door before coming inside.

She came to give the hottest gossip that she heard from the other maids to Yang Ning but halted when she saw Yu Ling in the room as well.

“Milady....what are you doing?” Xiaowei was surprised to see Yang Ning wearing a heavy dress made of pure silk when it was time for her to go to bed.

She should be wearing her night clothes by now, why is she wearing her silk dress at the moment? She wondered.

Not only that, she was carrying the three heaviest books on her head and was holding onto her skirt, as if she was trying to walk in this uncomfortable posture.

Yang Ning laughed bitterly and pursed her lips when she heard Xiaowei’s question. She glanced at Yu Ling hesitantly before taking the books from her head to hold into her hands and said, “As you can see, I am learning how to become a royalty.”

” Lady Yu Ling is teaching me how to walk....like royalty.” She laughed but her eyes were screaming for help.

She doesn’t want to do this. She didn’t come here to do all of this.

She thought that Lady Yu Ling was making an excuse in front of Yang Luoyang by saying that she came to teach her royal etiquette.

“Ah! I apologize for disturbing you like this. ” Xiaowei exclaimed in surprise and apologized upon finding out that Yu Ling was teaching Yang Ning to walk like a royal lady.

She pursed her lips in this matter as she could see how much Yang Ning wants to run away from this situation.

However, in this situation, she feels the same as Yu Ling.

After Yang Ning recovered from the high fever, she has changed a lot and doesn’t act like a noble lady like before.

Yu Ling looked at Xiaowei and told her off coldly, ” You shouldn’t barge into the lady’s room like this. She is going to become the Crown Princess and you will be upgraded to the maid of the Crown Princess.”

Yang Ning looked at Xiaowei awkwardly and asked her the question to break this uncomfortable silence in the room. “Xiaowei, did you come here to tell me about something?”

” Why did you come running as if someone was dying?” Yang Ning asked as she placed the books on the table and sat on the chair to take a break.

“Yang Ning, Language!” Yu Ling warned Yang Ning to mind her language which sent a chill to her spine.

From a warm hearted motherly figure, Court Lady Yu Ling has been turning into the scary homeroom teacher from whom all the students are scared.

Yang Ning pursed her lips and nodded while smiling through pain. She shouldn’t have asked Yu Ling to call her by name when they’re alone.

Now it feels scary whenever she calls her by her name and it doesn’t feel as pleasant as before anymore.

Looks like she made a huge mistake by asking her to stay by her side until the royal wedding. How is she supposed to bear all this torture until then?

She is stricter than all the coaches under whom she had trained under now. No doubt why Yang Luoyang and Chang Ah couldn’t stand a chance in front of her.

Because her charisma is no joke!

Seeing Yu Ling controlling Yang Ning, Xiaowei pursed her lips and was scared by the charismatic Yu Ling. She lowered her head and avoiding looking into Yu Ling’s eyes and said, “Erm...Milady, I got a news for you.”

“News? What kind of news?” Yang Ning asked while taking a sip of water from the glass that Yu Ling just passed her.

Xiaowei looked around hesitantly and closed the doors behind her before spilling the beans in front of Yang Ning.” I overheard the other maids who were talking about it. They were saying that His Highness has been punished to be locked inside his chamber for a week.”

” They do not know the reason. However, during this period, no one is allowed to enter his chamber nor talk to him. The maids can serve him the food but they cannot talk to him as well.”

Yang Ning frowned when she heard her words. “What? His Highness has been punished to be locked inside his chamber for a week? What nonsense are you talking about?”

” I saw him only yesterday. I am sure it must be a rumor only. Everything was fine by yesterday.” Yang Ning didn’t take her words seriously as there was no way for it to be true.

She saw him yesterday, how can he be locked in his chamber now?

“But there is no way this news can be wrong. The other maids found out about this news when they overheard the conversation of Lord Yang with the Madam.” Xiaowei murmured as she wasn’t sure about the news after hearing the reasoning of Yang Ning.

They did see Zheng Liang yesterday and everything was fine by then. How come things change overnight?

“It is true. However, Lady Yang Ning does not need to get stressed because of this matter. His Highness can take care of himself.” Yu Ling, who was standing there silently, finally spoke and confirmed the news.

Yang Ning was stunned when she heard her words and asked, ” Lady Yu Ling, didn’t you go to the palace in the morning?”

” Why didn’t you tell me about this matter earlier? Did you see His Highness at the palace? How is he doing now?” Yang Ning stood up from the chair and confronted Yu Ling.

“Did you find out the reason why he was locked inside his chamber? There must be a reason for it. What is it?” Yang Ning asked as she was worried how things were changing so suddenly.

Why was he punished? For what reason?

He isn’t the type of man to make any mistakes. Then why was he punished like that?

Yu Ling looked at her with her calm and indifferent expressions and said, `”Lady Yang Ning, as I said, you do not need to worry about anything.”

“The only thing you can do for His Highness is to stay put and do nothing. His Highness can deal with everything, however, he does not like when anyone interferes in his affairs.”

Yang Ning pursed her lips as she could see that Yu Ling does not have any intention to tell her about the reason behind it.

However, just as she said, there was nothing that she could do to help Zheng Liang either. He helped her many times but in return, she cannot do anything for him.

Shouldn’t there be something that she could do to make him feel better? He must be feeling upset about getting punished like this after all.
