118 Royal Wedding (II)

“Fang Li, How are you doing my child? As your father, it aches my heart to watch you in this condition every day.”

” Your whole family is eagerly waiting for you to wake up, my little champ. Don’t sleep for too long and wake up soon.”

Yang Ning, whose eyes were closed and was in a deep sleep, had a few creases appear on her forehead. Her hands that were clenching the bed sheets tightly were trembling and were going through a piercing headache that soaked her in sweat beads while she was sleeping.

The voice of her Father whom she had been missing for such a long time was ringing in her ears as if he was sitting next to her and were saying those words to her.

Is she having another dream? If it was a dream, she never wanted this dream to end so that she could listen to her Father’s voice.

“Milady, Please wake up. If you don’t wake up now, you will miss the auspicious hour to take a bath for your wedding.” Xiaowei was shaking Yang Ning violently to wake her up from her dreamland.

However, Yang Ning was not responding to her desperate calls and continued to sleep in. Seeing the way that Yang Ning was still sleeping, Xiaowei started to panic.

She was trying to wake her up for the past half an hour but Yang Ning didn’t even flinch at her loud voice and continued to sleep like a baby.

It was the royal wedding day and Yang Ning needed to get up early to take a bath during the auspicious hour which is at dawn. In a few minutes, the auspicious hour will start and she needs to wake up now to start her day with the auspicious bath which is the first ceremony out of the many rituals of the royal wedding.

While Xiaowei was contemplating how to wake up her lady so that she would not get late for the auspicious wedding bath, the door of the chamber was pushed open and Lady Yu Ling came to check on Yang Ning.

“Lady Yu Ling!” Xiaowei called her out while looking at her with a pouting crying face. ” Milady hasn’t woken up yet. What do we do now?”

Yu Ling stood next to Yang Ning’s bed and pursed her lips. She looked at the sleeping beauty who was sleeping soundly but was frowning in her sleep as if she had been trapped in a dream.

Rather than wasting her time to wake Yang Ning by shaking her body or calling her name desperately, Yu Ling picked up a glass of water that was placed on a small square box table next to her bed.

“Lady Yu Ling, what are you planning to do? It is Milady’s glass of water.”

“If you’re feeling thirsty, should I bring another glass of water for you?” Xiaowei asked as she was confused when Yu Ling took hold of Yang Ning’s glass of water.

What was she planning to do with it? She wondered.

However, before she could get an answer to her questions, Yu Ling poured that glass of water on Yang Ning’s face, drenching her wet in her sleep.

“Ack! Is this bed flooding?” Yang Ning, who was lost in her deep sleep almost gargled in her bed and jumped in startled to sit on her bed.

Her face and clothes were now drenched in cold water and her hair was also in a mess.

“What...What just happened?” Yang Ning looked at Yu Ling and Xiaowei with her widened eyes and was now completely awake from her sleep.

How come it was raining in her room? Because of it, she almost drowned to death in her sleep.

While Xiaowei was also shocked and in disbelief by Yu Ling’s assertive action, Yu Ling, on the other hand calmly put down the glass back on the table and said, ” Lady Yang Ning, since you’re awake now, you should get ready for the auspicious bath ceremony.”

“The first ray of the sun will soon break in the sky. You need to take a bath with rose petals and milk before the sun rises in the sky and brightens the dark sky.” Yu Ling said and urged Yang Ning to get out of bed and follow her to the bath chamber which had been prepared for her first bath ceremony on the wedding day.

It is one of the main rituals that are necessary to practice for the wedding of the royal family members. Taking a bath during the auspicious hour blesses the royal couple and endows them with prosperous and harmonious marriage.

Yang Ning was speechless at Yu Ling’s cold words that she was speaking while smiling at her. If she doesn’t know her personality, she would have assumed that she hates her.

However, after living with her for the last few weeks, she realized that this is how Yu Ling shows her love and care toward someone.

She will treat you coldly and will push you to do your work correctly and on time but if someone tries to mess with you or attack you, she will be the first one to eliminate them from the list of enemies.

This is what she has been doing to her in the last few days. Yu Ling made her starve so that she could look heavenly beautiful on the day of the royal wedding. Not only that, she made her practice royal etiquette regularly so that she wouldn’t embarrass herself on the wedding day in front of all the prestigious guests.

Yang Ning took a deep breath and swallowed her anger to see Yu Ling’s indifferent face and decided to overlook this matter for once.

“Alright. Since I am already awake, I will follow you for the auspicious bath. However, next time, do not pour a glass of cold water on my face when I am sleeping.” She complained while looking at her with her squinted sharp eyes.

” I almost choked on the water in my sleep. What if something had happened to me?” She whined while glaring at her with her side eye.

Yu Ling looked at Yang Ning with a poker face and nodded upon hearing her words.” I understand. Next time I will not use cold water.”

“That’s right. It’s not right to pour water on someone’s face, especially when that someone is going to become the Crown Princess.” Yang Ning boasted about the title of the Crown Princess.

However, her smile soon disappeared when she heard Yu Ling’s next words. ” From next time, I will use lukewarm water to wake you up. However, if you don’t want to be woken up in this way, you can always wake up early to avoid this kind of situation the next time.”

Yang Ning was speechless by Yu Ling’s passive-aggressive attitude and almost applauded her response. Why is she always so savage with her responses?

It is a good thing when she answers like that to Yang Luoyang or Chang Ah, however, it sometimes backfires on her as well.
