Yisheng knocked on the door opposite and the person who opened the door was Song Anchen. He looked at her quietly for a few seconds before smiling, “Eat at my house today.”
“Eh?” Yisheng was a little shocked. She peeked below Song Anchen’s arm and saw that her dad was playing Chinese chess with Song Anchen’s father. Yisheng instantly felt speechless. As soon as she looked up, she saw that Song Anchen had lowered his head and was looking at her.
“Hurry and come in,” Song Anchen suddenly said and stretched out his arm to drag her in. Yisheng was scared that she would fall into his embrace and felt even more confused. When did Song Anchen’s actions become so rough? At that moment, he took the chance to hug her.
Just when she was pondering, she saw that the two parents that were playing chess had stopped moving, looking strangely at the two of them who were acting intimately. Yisheng was startled. She hurriedly pushed Song Anchen away and whispered, “Let go, Dad and uncle saw us.”
Song Anchen was obedient and let go of her. However, he held her hand and walked past the two parents, “Dad, stop playing chess. It’s almost time to eat, hurry and go buy your groceries.”
Song Anchen’s father glanced suspiciously at their intertwined hands and when Yisheng saw this, she wanted to pull her hand out of his grasp, but Song Anchen’s grip was very tight, so tight that her fingers felt a little bit of pain.
Father Ye looked at them with the same kind of gaze. Although they were confused, they did not ask any more questions.
“Oh, right, Dad,” Song Anchen pulled out his phone from his pocket, “Help me send my phone for repair while you’re out.”
Father Song looked unhappy with Song Anchen’s request, “You’re so troublesome,” After he took Song Anchen’s phone, he told Father Ye, “Let’s go grocery shopping.”
Father Ye nodded and the two of them had just turned around when Song Anchen said, “Dad, don’t forget to help me test whether my phone can make and receive phone calls after it’s been fixed.”
“You rascal. To do that, you need another phone, but you took my phone.”
“Doesn’t Uncle Ye have a phone?” Song Anchen said matter-of-factly.
Father Ye’s face turned red, “I left my phone at home. When Anchen called and when I heard that we were playing Chinese chess, I hurried over happily,” Father Ye’s favorite hobby is playing chess. When Chinese chess was mentioned, he would forget everything else. In the past, when the department he worked in had a Chinese chess event, there was once when in the middle of the match, he had to defecate, but because he was entirely concentrated on the match, he forgot to wipe his butt, and Father Song happened to bump into him. Thus, Father Song would often use Chinese chess to joke with Father Ye. It happened that Father Ye was the kind of person that was very easily embarrassed, and when this is mentioned, he would be very ashamed.
Song Anchen chuckled and did not say anything more. However, the sensitive Father Ye’s face turned even redder because of this. He asked Yisheng, “Yisheng, where’s your phone?”
Yisheng was stunned as she took out her phone and passed it to Father Ye. Father Ye took it and raised the phone in his hand, “Let’s use this phone to test later.”
Father Song laughed, “You haven’t gotten over your enthusiasm for Chinese chess yet?”
(T/N: Wasn’t sure how to fit it in that sentence, but in very improper English, what Father Song said was: Your enthusiasm for Chinese chess that caused you to ‘forget to wipe your butt after defecating’. Kind of referring to the level of enthusiasm that was so intense that he…)
Father Ye glared and his face turned red again. He did not dare to look at the young people present and dragged Father Song out of the house.
From the beginning to the end, Song Anchen had a smile on his face as he sent off the two parents. After that, he sat down on the sofa and picked up the plate of grapes on the coffee table, and started to eat.
Yisheng found it strange and could not help but ask, “Why are we suddenly having a meal together?”
“I told my dad that we came back because we wanted to have a meal together.”
“But why is your phone spoilt? Your phone is eight times more expensive than mine and mine has never had issues before.”
“Are expensive phones not allowed to have problems?” Song Anchen raised an eyebrow, obviously a little annoyed at Yisheng’s words.
Yisheng read the situation and stopped asking, sitting down on the sofa and eating grapes as well.
Song Anchen suddenly leaned against the couch, a special smile in his eyes as he lazily looked at Yisheng while she ate her grapes.
He suddenly opened his mouth, “I instructed my Dad to buy sour grapes. I know that you like to eat them.”
Yisheng froze, she normally only liked to eat sour things when she was in a bad mood. Did he buy sour grapes for her because he noticed that she was in a bad mood? Even she could not tell that she was in a bad mood.
When he saw Yisheng’s stunned expression, Song Anchen did not continue hinting, watching the television, and ignoring her. Yisheng rolled her eyes at him. It was quite annoying how he did not finish what he wanted to say.
One was watching the television ‘attentively’, one was eating grapes continuously. Even Yisheng found it strange. Could she really be in a bad mood? Why was she eating so many sour things? She was almost finishing the big plate of grapes.
After about an hour, both parents came back, but their expressions were very bad. They were both expressionless as they walked into the kitchen.
Yisheng was a little stunned. The two parents that had been very happy just now suddenly changed as soon as they returned? She casually glanced at Song Anchen but saw that he was looking at her with an ambiguous expression. Yisheng had a strange feeling. She kept feeling like his suspicious smile hid a knife that was aimed at her.
