Book 5: Chapter 36:2: Demon-Subduing Lightning Dragon Ritual Array, Part 2

Thirty seconds later, Siegfried and Einstein saw a Titan mech walk out of Babylon Labs. However, nothing happened even after it walked a few hundred meters out.

“There’s nothing—” Siegfried turned his head back to question Chen Heng further. However, before he could finish his words, a loud crack of thunder boomed outside.

Siegfried immediately turned to look and saw a several-hundred-meter-long, white-and-blue Eastern dragon made up entirely of electricity swallow the Titan 500 meters away from Babylon Labs.

That Titan turned into a smoking pile of scrap in less than a second, the electricity and the heat nearly reducing it to powder. It showed no signs of its previous might.

Roar! After destroying the Titan that walked out of Babylon Labs, the massive dragon seemed to have noticed Siegfried’s and Einstein’s gazes, roaring at the two ferociously before flying back into the slightly dark clouds.

“...” Siegfried and Einstein exchanged looks in silence.

“Hey! Mophead, what’s the situation? Was that massive lightning dragon a new weapon from Schicksal? Rather, is Schicksal declaring war on Anti-Entropy?” Tesla’s voice came from the communicator in Einstein’s hand, breaking the silence.

“Professor Tesla, we have no intention of declaring war on Anti-Entropy. That lightning dragon is not our weapon.” Siegfried quickly denied the connection between the lightning dragon and Schicksal.

“If it is not Schicksal’s, then it can only be our Anti-Entropy’s. Don’t tell me you are going to claim this is a natural phenomenon or the 2nd Herrscher’s work? Furthermore, do you know how expensive a mech is? Since you knew something might happen out there, you shouldn’t use a mech as an experiment. The cost of a mech—”

Crack! Einstein crushed the communicator before Tesla could finish.

For ability users like Chen Heng, the ability awakening’s greatest benefit was the transformation of these abilities into something more like instinct. In other words, he would not be restricted by any suppressants or inhibitors for his abilities unless his opponent had something like a magic-nullifying domain or similar techniques. Regardless, Chen Heng was more than capable of holding his own in close combat.

“...Is that so?” Einstein started considering ways to deal with this after hearing Chen Heng’s explanation.

If there are only 108 lightning dragons, we can counter this with numbers...

“That’s right. If you are thinking of overwhelming it with numbers, give up on that thought. The earlier lightning dragon was several hundred meters long. You saw that, right? That lightning dragon can divide into 108 smaller dragons. Your Titans cannot even last against the small lightning dragons. Also, don’t think those lightning dragons are stupid; they have a basic level of intelligence.” Chen Heng immediately burst Einstein’s balloon, as though seeing what she was thinking.

“What about carpet bombing?” Einstein raised another method.

“A carpet bomb? That’s even easier. The lightning dragons don’t even have to do anything. The thunderclouds in the sky just have to send out a web of lightning to detonate the bombs in the air.” How could Chen Heng not guard against this method? After all, Otto bombarded Siberia with shells in the original story. However, that was for the sake of eliminating the Honkai Beasts.

Einstein thought for a while and could not think of a solution, so she gave up and shifted her attention to Chen Heng’s motives. “Mister Chen Heng, are you planning to confine us here?”

“Of course not. Don’t worry. The ritual array will disperse after two days. By then, I wouldn’t want to stay at Babylon Labs even if you begged me to. Just wait patiently for two days. After all, I have nowhere else to go.”

“Another cup of bitter gourd juice.” Although this restricted zone of lightning caused Siegfried and Einstein a headache, it was just the two of them. Theresa remained by Chen Heng and Sirin’s side to get more bitter gourd juice.

“There’s no more.” Chen Heng waved his hand, dismissing the possibility of more bitter gourd juice.Read latest chapters at novelhall.com Only
