Preparation for Adventure part 4
The room of the Adventurer’s Guild was silent after hearing that I can use recovery magic.
Huh, what were they so surprised about?
I originally thought that recovery magic was similar to attack magic, and although it’s a rare skill, I thought it was a skill that could be found anywhere compared to higher-level occupations such as brave and saint.
To begin with, the only thing I could choose from when I was character-making was basic occupations.
I was an ordinary person compared to the multiple occupations that allow you to master two or more of the basic occupations, and the higher-level occupations that give you preferential treatment from the start.
Of course, the same goes for priest, but if priest is a normal occupation, then recovery magic is also a normal skill.
“Um, what’s wrong?”
“Huh? Recovery magic is a very, very difficult spell, you know? The technology is kept under wraps by the Church, and there’s no way you can use recovery magic if you’re not a saint or a saintess or a holy knight or a priest, okay?”
“But, I’m really a Priest, sis.”
I’d also obtained that occupation after all.
Oh, could they possibly not believe that I am a Priest because I look like a commoner?
I see, I’m sorry about that.
Since people are supposed to respect the robe before the person, appearance is important.
However, since it’s true that I can use recovery magic, I decided to push it through.
I want an ID no matter what.
“But I’ve done a lot of training, too. The effect is still weak, but I can use recovery magic properly.”
“Yes, yes. If you say so, let me take a look at it. …Kai, come and help me out.”
“Okay.”
The lady at the front desk and the adventurer looked at each other in dismay at my words, ready to start doing something.
However, I would have been happy to show them what I could do, and I would have liked to have a chance to prove it.
Then an adventurer named Kai came up to me, holding his arm.
He was so strong, he looked like he could kill me in an instant with his suit of steel weaponry.
Well, of course! I’m just a level 3 after all!
“Kid, you said you could recovery magic, right?”
“Yes, I did.”
“Hey, it’s not too late for that. If he’s lying, I suggest you undo it as soon as possible. …If a non-priest falsely claimed to be able to use recovery magic, that’s a felony in this country. But if we’re still here, we can just call it child’s play.”
I was wondering why all the adventurers around me were so nervous.
But if you think about it, I was probably the only one who had thoughts about the concept of a “normal occupation”, and in this world, a priest was a doctor.
In this world, the priests were doctors, and the priests were run by a religious organization called the Church, which had many of the means of healing, so it was easy to expect that the Church had a lot of power that could take a strong stance against royalty and nobility.
Since the royal family wasn’t a clergy, it lacks the means to healing, and it was not hard to imagine that those in power who value life would value recovery magic.
Of course, there was also the alchemist’s medicine, and there were also independent priests who practice in the church but leave to serve the nobles or become adventurers.
However, I didn’t think it applies to either of those situations right now.
Naturally, this was the way things were going to go.
If this was really a bluff or something, I’d be blinded by it, let’s be careful.
But I can really use it. I’m not going to stop it…
“…Well, okay, here we go.”
Kai said so and suddenly cut his own arm with a knife.
Blood was pouring out in an uproar.
“…….Hey, hey hey hey!?”
“What the are you doing?”
“So this is how you do it for me to show you my recovery magic? Are you crazy?”
No, it was a reliable method, but it didn’t have to be this far.
“Can’t you use a gentler method?”
“Alright, hurry up and heal. Don’t worry, if you can really do a recovery spell, I’ll pay you a regular fee for your magic.”
“That’s not the point!”
If I got paid like this, I wouldn’t feel good afterwards.
But I couldn’t just watch him like this, so I had no choice but to heal his wouns.
Once it was healed, I’d punch you, and you’d appreciate yourself more.
“The pain, the pain, fly away…”
“…what!!!”
“Liar, liar, liar!!”
I didn’t know anything about chanting or skill names, but when I use recovery magic, I letting the power of the skill to guide me.
The only thing I could think of was, “pain, pain, fly away!”, but the sense of casting spells and such is not my specialty as a priest, so I didn’t know how to chant.
With the activation of the recovery spell, Adventurer Kai’s wounds slowly healed, although not fast, but it took time to heal.
If the wound was a bit shallower, it would have been easy to heal, but unfortunately, the wound was too deep, and it was already bleeding to the point where it was a bit tricky for a level 3.
I wasn’t not sure if it’s because I’d lost a lot of magic power in my body, but I was feeling a bit tired.
“Look, it’s healed!”
“Is it… Really?
“I can’t believe it…”
As expected, they didn’t believe that I could heal him, and were stunned by the look of surprise on their faces.
Ah, I’m tired.
“So, I can register with the Adventurer’s Guild now, right? If I can join one of the teams, I’ll be able to play active role in close combat as well.”
“Hey, Elise, this is bad.”
“Yeah, I understand…. Kid, excuse me, could you come to the room inside for a moment? I have something to tell you.”
The receptionist, who waa called Elise, despite the fact that we needed to talk, dragged me forcefully to the back of the room.
“Hey, what’s going on this time?”
What was wrong with me being a wild young priest?
I just wanted to become an adventurer as soon as possible……..
However, it was a futile attempt. I couldn’t even run away from a monstrous force that couldn’t be considered a woman and the surveillance of adventurer Kai who was following me from behind.
It seemed that the so-called wild priest boy also has some other problem.
