At Lewis Mansion, Country B
Days passed, and Kimmy still found it hard to believe that Cain had actually healed as though nothing had happened to him. All his results were so perfect that he could go back to his usual routine and even start working at the hospital anytime he wanted.
"Didn't you find it strange?" Kimmy murmured while they were sitting on the couch inside their bedroom. She put down the book she was reading and faced Cain.
The latter looked at her, removed his eyeglass with a blink and murmured, "I found it strange too. I mean, even my eyesight has gotten better. I can see clearly without glasses."
It has been bothering him since yesterday. In the beginning, he wondered if he needed to change his eyeglasses but later realized that he didn't need them. Something was definitely weird about his body.
"Should we go back to the hospital? I don't know why but I'm worried," Kimmy voiced out. Cain chuckled and pulled Kimmy to himself.
"What are you saying? We shouldn't be worrying when I'm feeling better. We should be grateful that by some miracle, I got better without any problems or complications, even if science cannot explain it. Ah, do you know how happy I am right to be alive and well like this, especially with you in my arms?" Cain said while nudging his nose in Kimmy's neck.
"That tickles," Kimmy giggled. Cain was already on top of Kimmy as he continued showering her neck with kisses while the latter continued giggling. Just when the atmosphere was heating up, they heard Cain's phone start to ring continuously.
"Answer it first. It could be important," Kimmy commented hoarsely.
Cain annoyingly grabbed his phone but quickly cleared his throat after seeing who the caller was.
"Hello, Gavin?" Cain answered informally, which Gavin had requested him to do whenever they were alone or with family.
"You have to meet me… Alone because this matter is very confidential. If possible, see me today, Cain," Gavin instructed seriously. Gavin cut the call after he finished talking but this unusual call made Cain frown as he looked at Kimmy.
"Why? What's wrong?" Kimmy asked.
"Hmm, nothing. Gavin wanted to discuss something confidential with me. Do you wanna come and stroll or visit Brione while waiting for me?" Cain asked with a smile.
"Of course. Don't you know that I find it so hard to leave you alone after your accident? I think I've become so clingy," Kimmy mumbled with a pout.
Cain had a naughty smile as he pinched her nose and said, "And I love the clingy Kimmy. Honestly, you're still not clingy enough according to me."
Kimmy only rolled her eyes and scoffed, "I'll just get dressed. Let's not keep the King waiting." Cain nodded and he also moved to get ready.
As soon as they arrived at Derhan Palace, Cain immediately walked to Gavin's office while Kimmy looked for Brione and her mother. They were both busy with preparations for the royal wedding of Gavin and Brione tomorrow. Obviously, her mother wanted everything to be perfect.
"Your Highness," Cain politely greeted. Gavin nodded and signaled him to sit on the couch as he stood from his work table and moved to sit opposite Cain. He then asked his secretary to leave them alone.
"I heard that you requested to see the CCTV footage of your accident from Will." Gavin started.
"Yes…" Cain answered.
"Hmm, do you feel anything strange happening in your body after the accident? Any changes?" Gavin worriedly asked, making Cain wrinkle his forehead.
Cain was about to answer when they were interrupted by Will who suddenly barged into the room, panting.
"Oh, God! I feel like dying…" Will gasped as he breathed in and out to calm himself.
"What's going on?!" Cain asked, totally confused as he eyed Gavin and then Will.
Will's face paled as he mumbled to Gavin, "I think we should take Cain to Cedric and let that bastard explain everything to him."
"Cedric? Do you mean Cedric is back? Where is he?" Cain asked in one breath. It had been a while since Cain last saw him so he was very concerned about Cedric's condition. After all, the man was like his brother.
Gavin rubbed his face and let out a frustrated sigh while Will could only shrug his shoulders.
"What the heck is going on?!" Cain anxiously asked.
"Cedric is back but he's not the same as before…" Gavin murmured. His phone rang which Gavin picked up.
"Cain is here. Do you want to meet in the secret room or… Alright, I understand… I will bring him to you," Gavin said to the person on the other side and ended the call.
Gavin looked at Will and said, "Cedric wants to talk to Cain with us around."
Will's face crumpled as he mumbled, "Can I just pass? Cedric is creeping me the hell out."
Gavin chuckled and said, "Why are you acting like this when you're Cedric's favorite buddy. He won't hurt you okay? He's harmless and perfectly tamed now."
"But that bastard was bullying me so much that I almost pissed my pants last time!" Will complained.
"Can you two just take me to Cedric so that I can relate and not feel like an outcast in the conversation? Geez, I can't understand a single thing of what you two are talking about!" Cain appealed.
"Yeah, come on, follow me," Gavin walked ahead and Cain followed him with Will by his side.
"You should have brought some holy water. Anyway, here I brought two so you can keep this one just in case we might need it," Will puffed and quickly zipped his mouth when Gavin turned and gave him a sharp gaze.
"Why holy water? Is Cedric possessed by a ghost or something?" Cain asked, wondering if it was actually the case while staring at the bottle of holy water Will handed to him. Of course, he did not believe in ghosts but he knew that stuff like that existed.
Will almost choked on his own saliva and whispered, "No my friend but…"
"Stop it, Will! Let Cedric tell everything and explain his situation to Cain directly. You are the one of the people he trusts the most…" Gavin scolded as they continued walking so Will no longer talked.
Meanwhile, Cain's curiosity reached its peak. He was wondering what exactly was happening at that moment and why these two men with him were acting so strange. But the one thing he was sure of was that it had something to do with his accident. Or more like the changes in his body because of how Gavin asked those questions the moment he entered the room.
