Cedric and Brione returned to the palace. Will, who was with Olivia at that time, saw the two of them step out of the car from the balcony on the second floor.
"Don't you find Cedric suspicious?" Olivia asked.
"What do you mean?" Will asked though he knew where the conversation would lead to.
"I have a feeling that he is not Cedric. I don't believe that he lost his memory. You see, a person's mind can be complicated and easily swayed but not one's heart." she added. She could not accept the fact that Cedric suddenly changed his heart after losing his memory.
She could still remember the passionate kiss the two of them shared when Ceric was drunk. It was during his last visit to her apartment in country A where she studied for her Master's Degree. He even warned her not to dare entertain any suitor while he was away. Was she wrong to assume that Cedric had deep feelings for her? All his actions proved that he liked her though Cedric did not directly tell her that he did.
"I don't know Olivia. I wish I could tell you more but it's best if you ask Cedric directly. All I can tell you right now is that there's no doubt he is Cedric. He is the King's son. I can attest to that," Will said.
Olivia raised an eyebrow, she could tell that there was more to this matter from Will's tone.
"Would you like to get some drinks with me Will? I want to get drunk but I doubt Cedric will have time for me seeing that he is very busy," she said, trying to control her emotions. She was really hurt and it was very hard for her to move on.
Some would think that she was just torturing herself by staying in Perdu Island and witnessing how she was losing Cedric but not for her. No, for her, this was her own way of healing. She wanted to see if Cedric was really serious about Brione and was happy with her. Only after confirming that, would she be willing to let him go. The pain she was feeling right now would serve as a stepping stone for her to move on. She was different from the others because this was how she coped with pain and no one else knew about it but her own self.
She looked at Will, waiting for his answer. "What? You don't have time for an old friend like me too?" She challenged him.
"Alright, Olivia. Let's drink but I must warn you… No monkey business after getting drunk!!!"
Olivia laughed and said, "Yeah don't worry." But in the back of her mind, she planned to squeeze every little detail from Will. The man had low alcohol tolerance and she and Cedric were the only ones who knew about it. That was why Will would never drink beyond his limit unless he was with a close friend like Cedric or her.
Will would probably drink cautiously around her too but she had her ways to get him drunk and make him talk.
Meanwhile, Brione and Cedric walked hand in hand to the Palace. They were inside the elevator when Cedric said, "Bri, can you join us for dinner tonight? I mean me, Olivia and Will. You see, Olivia is not only my guest but also a childhood friend who just recently got back."
"I understand. Yeah sure why not? She's your friend and I heard you two were being paired together. I honestly saw the pain in her eyes when you introduced me to her." Brione said honestly. She could tell Olivia loved Cedric.
She did not admit it to Berry and Mitch but she was indeed affected by Olivia's presence. For the first time in her life, she felt insecure and worried.
She did not know anything about how the Royal Family life is, but usually, in movies and dramas, it is always dramatic.
"Are you jealous of her?" Cedric teased.
"Of course not!" Brione defended with a sour face. Cedric chuckled and before Brione could say another word, Cedric moved to pin her on the elevator wall, giving her a quick peck on her lips.
Brione heard the elevator ding and immediately ran out as soon as the elevator doors opened.
"He's so impulsive! What if someone saw us!" she mumbled as she stomped her way out. She felt Cedric hold her hand.
"What?" she barked.
"We reached my room," Cedric answered and quickly opened his door. Brione almost forgot that her things were already transferred to his room.
"Are you mad?" Cedric asked when she went inside without sparing him a glance.
She turned around to face him, hands on her waist, and scolded, "Yes I am! Do you have to kiss me like that? What if someone saw us?"
"So what if they do? I don't see anything wrong with it. We are officially together so they should accept our public display of affection every now and then right?" Cedric casually answered.
Brione did not respond. She wondered if she could ever get used to this because it was uncommon for her to have someone kissing her whenever and wherever he wanted.
"I'm sorry. If you're not comfortable with it then I will avoid doing such things again. I can be very impulsive at times, doing things I want to do as long as I think there's nothing wrong with it. Besides, there was no one else in the elevator except us."
"I wonder what those in charge of the security camera in the elevators are gossiping about right now," Brione scoffed.
"Oh, don't worry about it. My men know to turn a blind eye when they see things like this. The only job they have is to focus on suspicious things that can potentially harm me. They don't care about the scenes where their Prince is having a great time…" Cedric reassured her with a smile.
He walked towards Brione and pulled her into his arms for a hug and said, "Please don't get mad anymore okay? I promise I will behave next time. Also, if you're not comfortable having dinner with Olivia later then you don't need to join us. You can eat with your team and we can meet after dinner."
"It's okay. I said I will go," Brione mumbled with a sigh. It was way too easy for Cedric to melt her heart like this. What if she was mistaken and he was not Gavin after all? Could it be that she fell in love with Cedric already that fast?
She was in deep trouble and in a very conflicted situation. She knew the best thing to do was run away but she just couldn't...
