Chapter 26 - Submission to the revelation

The sobbing sound was filling the room. The sensation of 'left alone' was piercing my heart as something chilling crept in my spine by the thought of going back to him.

I was crying upon my fate with the grief of my dead parents in the window couch under the pitiful moonlight. Pulling closer my legs towards the chest I felt miserable, even hated my own birth.

Jumping between different past and present memories I wished for it to stay in the dark.

"If....if I had not known my past. Nothing would have happened."

I was crouched down on the window couch helplessly, knowing that nothing ...no power in this world could stop that guy from claiming me.

"But what happened? At least tell me. You are only crying since you stepped in my home."

Lolita strode close to me and plopped across the couch.

"Will you believe?"

I could not muster up the courage to spill the beans, since I stepped into her apartment.

Yet I kept on crying and crying upon how unfortunate I was.

"I will believe everything you will say. Now tell me what happened there after I was gone."

Lolita gave me a serious look, her expressions were creased with tension.

"You were…...r-right Lolita. I'm indeed a…... blue blood of some Welsh family."

I sniffed and completed my sentences in between.

"See. I told you ...I had a hunch from the beginning that you were some princess."

She shot up from the couch in excitement and burst out happily but soon realized that something was missing in that 'happy' news.

"But then, why are you crying?"

She paused for a millisecond and comprehended that the whole situation had a mystery in it.

"I-I'm cursed Lolita! I'm cursed to marry the Ghost King!"

With a destitute tone and piqued irritation I yelled at her on the top of my lungs.

"Ppppffttttt…..what!?"

Her expressions remained serious for a brief moment but then Lolita burst out in a giggle that resonated in the room with a mad laughter.

"Oh come on Syna, do not joke around and by the way your joke was lame but you did very well in forcing me to laugh."

She was sitting in front of me in that window couch, with legs tucked to her breasts. But she was laughing upon my miserable condition, and with a thonk sound Lolita pat on my shoulder.

The slight jerk shook me a little as I remained sitting there with her expected reaction, my face smeared with the streams of tears and blots of black liner.

"Y-you, are not serious, right?"

It took her a minute to regain her sensibility and after sensing that I have not responded to her laughing rather sat there with a glum face, she questioned me.

Her eyes flickered the trace of worry as she crept closer and lifted my cheek up.

"Tell me, this is not true, right? I mean there is no such thing as ghosts or vampires and werewolves."

Her tone was laced with rather a quizzical manifestation of questions that were rising within her.

"I wish it were not true. But I have seen the Ghost king today, at the orphanage, and HE IS REAL."

My eyes widened as saucers with fear upon recalling the whole vanishing scenario, as I levelled my face to hers and spoke the latter in a whisper.

"But there should be a way to escape this unfortunate fate, right? Is it any?"

She grabbed a hold of both my hands and tried to motivate my 'dead self'.

"You think I did not try to find any? There is no fucking way to escape and if I do…h-he will kill the people I love and whole orphanage will die."

A warm watery pearl left the cage of my eye socket and rolled down the cheek, until it crawled off my face and dropped on my hand.

Perhaps my miserable fate matched to the mere tear as I was also unable to runway and was bound by the curse, that I had to be the queen.

"We are living in the 21st century, girl. There should be any other way. We can call any person who is skilled in exorcism and….."

I knew she was worrisome about me but all her balderdash was making my rage to fume more.

"Exorcise! Do you think he is that weak to be defeated easily? He is the 'Ghost King', Lolita. He, himself rules over the dead!"

I tried to explain to her why I gave up easily and adopted a submissive attitude towards the whole situation. Maybe my surrender was expected and the previous women in my family have also passed by this.

"Let me stay here for tonight. Can I?"

Without any second thought I requested her as I wanted to spend more time with my loved ones and family.

"Yes. Yes, you can."

She hugged me immediately as wrapped my head with her arms around, my forehead rested at the crooked hollow of her neck.

"Thank you."

She did not speak anymore, in a prevention of making me sad further to the extent.

"Everything will be fine. Let me make a cup of coffee for you."

She cupped my face and chipped affectionately like a sister by blood.

After her dismissal from the room, I tucked my head against the window pane and pondered upon my future.

"May I call thy name; may I catch thy thought; as a nature springs mysteriously in an Amazonian rainforest; is our love painted on the coloured canvas of Picasso's dream ; where thy touch is like silver lighting;"

"Sweet sparks inviting the rise of delicate hair on my skin; oh, thy words kiss me like a garden of lost Eden; I take thee to where even the glorious Eve has not entered; as thy steps break the virgin vail of lost humanity. "

"Mr Sinclair….."

My thoughts instantly drifted to him.
