The door was shut behind her but Syna held her tears back. As she saw the reflection in the mirror again she recalled her sojourn at orphanage that day.

"I have to be brave, Syna you can change your destiny. Just try for once, he is just a man, nothing is to be afraid of."

Syna assured herself patting on her heart gently, a few moments before she was strong and determined.

But what could one expect from a woman who had already lost her parents and did not even see or know them. The lady who was in her youth and already lost the person she loved, before she could even had him.

She was emotionally unstable and impulsive, all it took was a sudden impulse and Syna would burst out unleashing her angst.

Her reflection was smeared with black mascara all around her eyes, that mocked at her own previous statement.

"Just a man, really Syna?"

"Yeah, just a man. He is not a devil. He is just a man. Just a man Syna."

She insanely laughed upon her words as replied to the reflection. She knew what he was and certainly not a 'human' but she tried to satisfy her fragile heart.

"Milady, breakfast is ready, come out."

Madeleine knocked at the door and without waiting for Syna to give a permit, she dashed in.

Upon finding the room empty Madeleine chipped a little loud, she could hear the water running from the silver tap.

"Coming."

Syna replied to her and slid her gaze along the washroom to find some wipes or a towel. At the moment the lady noticed that walls were dipped into the same shade of room.

All the women necessities were placed there, toothbrushes, paste, Listerine, handwash, beauty soaps and….

"What the heck…."

Her eyes landed on a pregnancy kit placed right above the mirror in a shelf.

"What the hell! He wants to make babies with me! Bastard, he can with in my vegetable state."

Syna burst out in rage, aggression filled her body as her blood boiled upon the very thought.

She finally found a towel neatly placed in the above shelf of the kit one, her chest tightened and the first image popped up into her mind was of Sinclair.

"What am I even thinking? It is only one sided okay, he does not even know, let alone making babies…..ugh!"

Her eyes widened upon her own reaction which was not strange at all instead she accepted it bluntly.

Madeleine heard the unlocking of the door and averted her stare to greet her queen. But her face dropped at once witnessing Syna still in her dress and make up removed.

"Let's go. I'm hungry."

Without even bothering to change or to tie her hair Syna crept towards the door of the room when Madeleine opened her mouth to utter something.

"But...milady…."

Syna turned and stopped her at once. Her mood switched again and now she was the strong fierce lioness.

"No buts, I'm hungry. Let's move."

She came out of the room and strode through the corridor without thinking, which of course was a dead end.

"Not there milady."

Madeleine giggled softly upon her furry and directed her the way, Syna glided down the vast staircase finely carved and painted into gold, going down in spiral she felt herself like a princess while coming down.

She walked passing the massive hall to the alley which opened into a great dinning hall. Her staggering footsteps could be heard in that big house and her jaw was already dropped upon witnessing such resplendent artwork.

"Th-this is….really so good. Sure your master has a great taste."

Unintentionally Syna blurted out while her eyes skimmed through each wall and praised the marvellous inner decor of the manor.

Decorated with expensive paintings and heavily carved dining table placed in the middle, the hall was elegant, she sat for having her 'unusual' breakfast.

The white fine, thin table mat was covered with various spoons and forks of different sizes neatly arranged in front of every seating.

Madeleine halted on the side closer to Syna and was genuinely pleased that her queen liked everything.

"Where is your master at this time? He has not come back yet?"

Syna questioned her again in a try to pull out something useful, in a casual tone with curiosity which led Madeleine to misunderstood that Syna love Sinclair.

When in reality she was impatiently waiting for the presence of 'Ghost king', as she was all equipped with her thoughts to lure and to tame him.

"He is not at home right now. But I assure you milady, Lord will visit you soon. You should not be disheartened."

Madeleine, unknown to all the misunderstanding created by someone mysterious assured Syna with all her heart and giving her hope.

"My arse!"

Syna scorned in her heart but kept her facial expressions normal, not creased with disgust.

"What should I bring for you? Italian? Continental? Thai? Chinese? Spanish? Korean? What would you like to have for breakfast?"

Madeleine counted all the variations as if she had memorized them all and listed in a robotic tone before Syna. Who was staring at her jaw dropped more likely dumbfounded.

Living in her own bubble she never had such luxurious before, as she did not remember her past life or even being a pampered princess.

"Wh-whatever is on the menu?"

That was all Syna could speak after hearing the long list of items.

She fully acknowledged that the Ghost king was having a whole jury to serve him, anyone could have guessed that by seeing his massively stretched manor.

When he was having an army of servants, the expertise in kitchen art was also expected of his interests.

"Uh? Should I bring some salad as a starter, till then you can decide what to eat after that?"

Madeleine turned around to leave giving off a genuine smile to Syna.

Her tone was a little robotic yet had a tinge of familiarity and a strange happiness because of her arrival.

Syna shook her head and continued to wonder about her groom's whereabouts.

Definitely not out of love, the sole thing that was working it's magic was ...the mate bond. Maybe Madeleine was not allowed to talk to her and they were forbidden like a single mistake and they will face a horrible end.
