Chapter 75 - A Gift For My Boyfriend 2/2

Syna was gazing at the cake counter intently, skimming her stare upon the section once all over again, tucking hand under her cheek with a little disappointed pout.

After a long search she found a beautiful red-velvet cake which caught her attention, laying at the back of other brightly coloured cakes.

"Perfect."

Her face beamed at once as she smacked her curled her right fist and then banged it onto the left hand, after a long battle of half an hour she finally selected one.

"Pack this one and in regular package."

She placed her order and the manager left with a nod, heaving a sigh of relief, the whole cafeteria employees were also at stake because of the lady's struggle in selection, all because of the 'careless' and 'proud' vibes she was radiating. Another lady arrived to fetch the cake out of the counter.

Syna again cast a look at the red velvet cake that was in square shape and of about a pound, perfect for two people and had two fresh strawberries with their green caps resting at one corner. The cake was decent yet had a perfect decent appearance for a romantic date.

"How you want to pay ma'am? Through cash or card?"

The girl at the cashier counter questioned Syna as she placed her package wrapped in a brown paper bag onto the cash counter.

"Oh! Yes, through card. Here."

Syna handed over her the black card and giggled in heart imagining the girl's reaction.

The lady swiped the card and started preparing the bill but her hands suddenly stopped on the keyboard as her eyes remained glued to the screen.

"A-ah! Mrs Sinclair. I-I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you."

The lady immediately addressed Syna through the reference of Sinclair as she witnessed the bill under the Australia's richest man!

She panicked, embarrassed on her treatment regarding the tycoon's wife.

"Eh..no, no, it's okay."

Syna didn't imagine the situation will get this much awkward but for a certain reason she loved the title.

"Here is your bill ma'am."

Syna took the package and card as she stepped towards the exit, her cheeks hinted red.

"Come again, Mrs Sinclair."

The words echoed in her ears.

"As we eloped from the royal pastures; they tried to separate us; wings of love being clipped by time; come discover me and let me awaken a fire that even Lucifer cannot put out."

"You took a lot of time."

Elmore questioned in a weary tone, his back stiffened while sitting in that position for thirty five minutes, the hyperactive man wasn't used to sit idle for that long but he was obliged to obey his queen's order.

"Ah! Yes, you know how difficult selection is. Oh! By the way, here is the card don't need it."

Syna placed the cake on the seat and flung her arm out to hand over the card to Elmore. Of course she wasn't there for money, neither was a gold digger or scheming bitch.

But, yes, Syna completely forgot the journalist soul within her rather the lady was head over heels in love with Sinclair that her mind totally neglected the revelation that the mysterious multimillionaire tycoon was actually a ghost Lord!

"Now to the company brother!"

Syna chirped in excitement which made Elmore happy and a smile graced his face, the friend was relieved that finally his Lord wouldn't lack a lovely companion anymore.

"Yes, my lady!"

His energetic reply resonated in the car and both drove towards his company.

Sure Sinclair's woman knew  where to find him and a perfect place to give him a surprise.

"Thank you."

Syna thanked Elmore as she slipped out of Bentley and strolled inside with the package.

She asked for the boss on the reception and a lady informed her about Sinclair's whereabouts, that he wasn't in a meeting.

Syna knew the way and thanked the lady while she strode towards the elevator. The lady on the desk pursed her lips in disappointment, her heart filled with hatred and intoxicated with the deadly poison of jealousy.

Syna silently sneaked in and saw Sinclair buried in a heap of files badly, the lord was having a hard time managing everything. As jade took a leave and rushed back to her son who was burning into fever because his vampiric powers were awakened.

Yes, his true blooded cousin married her love of life, Lombardi, a vampire. And their son who just turned eighteen accordingly his human age was having troubles in controlling his new powers.

Syna walked in without knocking, after all what was the point of such formality when she was his only lover. But the lady went completely unnoticed, Sinclair didn't realize anyone coming let alone sensing her presence.

She stood in front of his desk and cleared her throat to get his attention. Sinclair lifted his head and looked up, the lord hurriedly shot up from his seat.

"Hey! How do you get here? Take a seat."

He inquired her sternly and offered by pulling out a chair for her.

"Oh! Elmore dropped me here, I was missing you so I came over to visit and brought a cake too."

Syna placed the cake on the table and began unpacking it.

"Oh! So, you are here to meet your man or boss?"

Sinclair questioned her again in a naughty voice, giving her a meaningful smirk while he plopped into the chair opposite to the big boss one.

"Of course for you, why would I come to meet my cold boss?"

She played along and replied while pouting as she was done with unpacking.

Sinclair laughed wholeheartedly while caressing her on head.

"Hey! I'm not cruel okay, you silly woman."

As it was lunch time already so they both had a long chit chat but Syna completely forgot to tell him about the guy who barged into her room or she refrained intentionally not to spoil his good mood.

"You said earlier that you brought a cake, let's cut it hurriedly, I'm hungry."

The indomitable lord behaved like a kid and threw a tantrum about him starving. He didn't need to ask her how she bought that because Elmore already informed him about everything by establishing a telepathic connection.

"Oh! Yeah. I bought a red velvet."

She placed it on the table and cut a slice, when Sinclair grabbed her wrist and ate cake from her hand and then started licking the strawberry sauce from her fingers, his eyes never left hers.

Syna became red, flustered and redder while Sinclair was peeking at her, taking the sight as a delight. Although Syna took the initiative to do something romantic but wasn't aware that she would be facing a beast, who was trying hard to tame his restless desires.

"As I yearn for thee day and night; thoughts of being together on a secret mountain side; a small shack; iron stove with heating kindling; no need for castles and flags; to be caressed and solemnly touched by thy warmth; I saw thy eyes and saw my hope inside…"

"Stole me and my flowers only to bring me to the fields of jasmines; leave me not as thee is my fertile earth; I simply want to grow in."
