Hiro went back to looking for other useful items in the market. Still using the help of his Demon’s eyes, he looked around carefully.
Then, he saw a Tome shrouded in thick black smoke and blazing like flames. Hiro wasn’t sure if it was smoke or black flames. When he used [Demon’s Eyes], the Tome looked like a broken book and was probably found in the trash.
“Where did you get this thing?” Hiro tried to ask the seller, a female bloodline demon player who had been busy scraping the dirt on her black, dirty-looking toenails. She didn’t wear shoes.
“Are you talking to me?” The woman looked like she had no intention of selling. However, Hiro was used to the unique character merchants in that place, so he just nodded calmly.
“Where did you get this thing?”
“You mean all these books?”
It was true that the woman sold worn-out books in her stall. However, only one book caught Hiro’s attention because of the strange aura he could see through his Demon’s eyes.
“I picked them all up from the ruins of the cathedral on the outskirts of the Eternity Kingdom. I didn’t know they could be sold, but they did. So I just took it all. Are you interested in any of those crappy books?”
A cathedral ruin? Hiro didn’t know where it was. He had travelled around the city many times where all races could gather in peace. However, for that one place, Hiro had never been to that place before. He couldn’t find it.
Hiro examined the dark green Tome with slightly burnt on the edges. He took a peek at what was written on it. However, it was useless. Even with the help of the Demon’s Eyes, he couldn’t read what was written in the book.
“Damn, looks like this is another bloodline language related to a cathedral. Hmmm it should be a cleric or a priest? But it’s a job class and not a bloodline.” Hiro thought as he continued to try to understand what was written in the book. But sadly, he couldn’t find anything useful as a clue.
“How much does this book cost?” he finally decided to take it with him and asked his guild members to help him read the contents.
After all, the aura of the black flames was too suspicious. He didn’t want to miss anything.
“50,000 LSC,” murmured the woman, setting the price randomly.
Hiro knew that bidding was still possible in that place. However, if he bid just like in a normal market, Hiro knew that he would fail and end up being kicked out by the seller. He must have something more valuable in exchange.
“Hmm… how about I exchange it for this thing?”
Ding!
[You have removed the Anti-holy ring from your inventory]
The woman looked frowning and disinterested when Hiro held out a ring with a white pearl on it.
“You think I’m a woman who can be easily seduced with a ring, huh?”
Hiro smiled lopsidedly at the woman’s rebuttal.
“This is an Acc, Anti-holy ring. By using this item, you can complete a Demon bloodline main quest which is impossible to complete without this item. I know you haven’t done the quest yet, have you?”
Hearing what Hiro had just said, the woman’s eyes widened. She brought her face closer to look at the ordinary-looking ring curiously.
“How do you know if I haven’t finished it yet? That damn quest is making me lazy.” the woman grumbled as she took a deep breath.
“So, do you want to exchange it? You know how much that thing costs in the official marketplace, right?”
Hiro ignored the woman’s question. While other players had to buy the item for at least 55,000 LSC in the marketplace through the auction system, Hiro had half a dozen Anti-holy rings from beating the only monster that dropped that Acc. Hiro got it while he was still using the rare drop buff from Anonymous.
The anti-holy ring he offered to the player in front of him was an anti-holy ring that couldn’t be sold because he had used it. However, some items in the Last Shelter Online had an exception. Even if they couldn’t be sold because they had been used, some items could still be given as gifts.
“I’ll take it.” The woman snatched the ring roughly from Hiro’s hands as if she was afraid that Hiro was just playing a prank on her.
After being satisfied with the item he had bought, Hiro returned to the top of the Hellfire Tavern. And when he went upstairs, he saw that the tavern was already filled with visitors. They were all players and NPCs with demon bloodlines.
Because Hellfire Tavern was very racist, it didn’t want to accept any bloodline other than demons.
Hiro saw a lot of succubus coming to the tavern. Most of them were flirting with the players, and some of them were dancing to the music on the dance floor.
This wasn’t the first time Hiro had seen NPCs succubus. They were very sexy and full of deceit.
“Hi, Nightfall. Do you need a bed partner tonight?” a succubus rammed its protruding chest into Hiro’s chest, purposely teasing him.
The NPC Succubus in the Last Shelter Online was extremely materialistic. They would tempt the player and spend the player’s money by fair means or foul. The players who were crazy about them should be prepared to donate tens of thousands of LSC just to spend the night with them.
Hiro already knew about it.
Normally, he would ask Jacob to flirt with the female NPCs, but since Jacob had never got in touch with a Succubus before, this time he had to improvise.
“Are you willing to take me to the Tower of the Death?” He spoke calmly to the Succubus who was flirting with him. A succubus in a red bunny girl outfit. Its long tail had already moved to wrap around Hiro’s waist and restrain him.
“Uhmm–not a great place to spend the night alone, Honey.”
“Do any of your friends want to take me there?” Hiro restrained himself from falling into the temptation of the succubus in front of him. She was very beautiful with tan skin and long hair tied in a ponytail, showing her long and beautiful neck.
“Ahhh—you’re so naughty, Honey. Do you really want to go there tonight?”
“Of course. I’ll give you whatever you want if you take me there.”
Hiro knew one thing. The player who wanted to request the Succubus for the first only had to pay at a maximum limit of 1,000 LSC. And it would be multiplied if the player wanted to spend the night with the same succubus in the future. So, Hiro was not afraid to go bankrupt with only 1,000 LSC.
“It seemed you misunderstood something. To enter the Tower of the Death, you don’t need to give money to the succubus. But you must give your desire.”
