Chapter 127: This Is Interesting

When Atlas saw the worm monsters trying to attack him, he dodged their lunges while stabbing them in the head. As the creatures surrounded him, he cast Void Wave, which sent some of them flying.

Following that, he took out two Inferno Bombs and launched them at the worms, causing two firestorms to erupt in the tunnel. As the fire toward Atlas, he cast Void Guard as the flames washed over him.

Seconds passed, and when the blue fire vanished, Atlas glanced around and spotted five green cores, which he sucked into his storage before continuing down the dark tunnel that was covered in cobwebs and bones of fallen adventurers that the dungeon left out for the show.

Atlas decided to activate the Dungeon Conquerer Skill and use it on the dungeon, only to have a notification pop up, which caused his excitement to grow.

'Forty-one floors!' Atlas internally exclaimed. 'This is an interesting thought; I wonder if it's a benefit of having the Dungeon Conquerer Skill.'

While examining the notifications, something told him to duck, which he did as a four-foot-long lobster-like creature passed by. Atlas quickly struck back by casting Void Blast at the monster, causing it to explode.

Just as Atlas prepared for the next move, a swarm of monstrous creatures surged forward, their claws snapping menacingly. With a swift, agile dance, Atlas ducked and wove through their attacks, his blades flashing as he dodged their strikes.

He unleashed Void Wave in a heartbeat, a powerful blast that cleared a wide berth around him. Gathering his focus, Atlas readied his blades and tapped into his incredible speed. He darted and leaped so quickly that afterimages trailed his path, confusing the lobster-like creatures.

As Atlas struck with precision, each stab dropped a monster before a spell blasted it away. He seized the moment to scan the monsters.

[Speed! Speed! Speed!]

Atlas listened to the advice and became a whirlwind as he blocked the monster's attacks before stabbing them through the eyes. He battled the Cave Fishers with a skill that constant fighting granted him.

As the fight raged on, Atlas became a storm of death because he only got faster and more precise as he killed more monsters. Each enemy that fell before him only fueled his ferocity, making him an unstoppable force.

He carved a path of destruction through the dungeon, his movements a blur of black and blue as the disguise deactivated. Finally, he appeared on the third floor, where a new and formidable enemy awaited him.

The surroundings reminded him of the chasm's bottom, minus the swamp, which made the environment somewhat more bearable. Atlas, restless and brimming with unspent energy, was in desperate need of an outlet.

Just then, something darted out from the shadows, capturing his full attention. Atlas raised Nightblade only to block a spider's pointed leg; following that, he struck back and cut the limb off before blasting the monster with a Void Bullet that exploded in its face, sending it flying backward.

He followed this with a Void Barrage; a storm of void mana erupted from his hands. The barrage struck the swarm of hissing spiders as they scuttled toward him, eradicating their numbers in a flood of azure explosions.

This gave Atlas time to scan his new foe.

[Cave Weaver]

[Explosions deal with them effortlessly]

Atlas continued casting Void Bullets and Void Blasts, which peppered the remaining spiders, causing them to drop dead while others fled deeper into the chasm. The dungeon quickly absorbed the bodies, allowing him to collect the twenty glowing green Monster Cores.

He pressed down the clear pathway, preparing Void Guard to shield himself. However, the spiders kept their distance, allowing him to pass without incident until he reached the fourth-floor entrance.

As he was about to descend, the Cave Weavers lunged at him from the shadows. Atlas activated Void Guard just in time to deflect their attacks. The spiders rebounded off his shield, giving him the opening he needed to unleash Void Barrage, obliterating three monsters.

While fighting, the Cave Fishers joined the battle, forcing Atlas to focus more on his attacks so he could whittle down the swarm of monsters. The fight lasted for twenty minutes, and his breath grew short.

Atlas, needing a brief respite, dispatched a group of goblins with ruthless efficiency. However, his moment of reprieve was abruptly shattered when a Cave Weaver lunged at him, its fangs piercing through his armor and embedding themselves in his chest.

The venomous bite injected a paralyzing toxin directly into his bloodstream. Feeling his strength leaving him, Atlas summoned all his remaining energy to cast Void Wave, which hurled the Cave Weaver away, crashing into a nearby wall.

Due to force, Atlas tumbled down the stairs to the fourth floor, hitting the ground with a resounding thud. Though weakened, the creatures above were blocked from following by an invisible barrier.

Atlas looked up and noticed he was in a Safe Zone before taking out the Antidote Potion he had received a while back and downing it. When the liquid flowed down his throat, it destroyed the spider's venom, allowing him to fall asleep due to exhaustion.

A few hours passed, and Atlas woke up with a headache. He sat up and noticed his armor and spider bite had already been repaired. He stood up and stretched before glancing around.

He soon realized the Safe Zone extended onto the fourth floor, revealing an expansive chamber strewn with boulders and rocky debris. Atlas surveyed the area, bracing himself for whatever monstrous threat might emerge. Discover hidden content at m,v l'e-NovelFire.net

"Something's not right with this floor," Atlas mused, a creeping sense of unease settling over him.

To his surprise, no new monsters appeared as he navigated the rocky expanse, allowing him to cross the chamber without further incident. Atlas closed in on the staircase built into a giant boulder leading to the fifth floor.

'A red flag,' Atlas instantly thought. 'A monster will appear when I close in on the floor exit.'

He walked toward it, but several explosions rang out as dust clouds rushed at him. Atlas yelped at the sudden chaos and scanned the new monsters to find out what they were and how to fight them.

[Keep off the ground and bring them to the surface]

As Atlas sensed the impending danger, he swiftly activated Void Step and reappeared atop a nearby stone. Just then, a massive creature burst forth from the ground, its beady eyes locking onto him with a sinister gaze that sat on a bullet-shaped head.

The beast, roughly the size of a hippo, was encased in thick, light brown armored plates that glinted ominously. Its four sturdy, muscular legs bore immense weight, while its massive jaw snapped menacingly in his direction.

Quickly, Atlas extended his hand and unleashed Void Blast toward the monster. However, the creature reacted surprisingly quickly, diving into the ground just before the spell could reach it.

'Dammit! This is going to turn into wack-o-mole,' he thought before jumping off the stone.

He landed with a resounding thud, immediately drawing the attention of more Landsharks that charged at him from all directions. Atlas waited until they were nearly upon him before casting Void Step, deftly evading their attacks as they erupted from the ground.

With a precise strike, he engaged the nearest Landshark. Thrusting his Nightblade into the monster's eye, he followed up with a Void Bullet, which exploded with devastating force, blowing its head apart.

An explosion sent a spray of flesh and chitin cascading over him. Atlas then used this tactic to lure the monsters out; he would stab them before blowing them up like balloons. The battle lasted for twenty minutes, and ten Landsharks lay in bits while he let out heavy breaths due to the tiredness taking over.

Atlas watched the bodies vanish, leaving behind the ten green Monster Cores and light brown plates that caught his interest. He picked up one and scanned it using Void Sight to get some information.

'Maybe I can add this to the Nightfall Armor,' he thought with a greedy smile.

Atlas approached the fifth-floor entrance before more monsters could attack him. When he reached the bottom of the staircase, he saw a cave entrance resembling an ant nest, which caused him to wonder, 'I bet it's the Dark Cave Ants. They will earn me loads of experience.' He entered the ant nest just before the monsters charged out of the darkness, but he cut them down easily as he cast multiple Void Bullets that peppered the other monsters. A chaotic battle erupted at the entrance as more Dark Cave Ants swarmed from the shadows.

Yet, the azure flames incinerated the creatures and turned them to ash, leaving behind a scatter of Monster Cores. After an intense hour of combat, the onslaught finally ceased. Atlas, visibly exhausted, found a rare moment of respite.

The corpses of the fallen ants blocked the path, preventing any further attacks and allowing him a much-needed break to recover his strength.
