Initially, Roy had taken this subspace as something similar to inter-spatial rings that could be created by alchemists.
During his fight with Carl, the son of Master Gray, when Carl was using all his strength to pull the runic item of his family out of the subspace but failed as the subspace sucked it in, Roy realized that it could be used in battle too to block attacks and even snatch weapons out of the opponent’s hands.
And, just yesterday, following his command, it sucked in and fired back Trent’s Ultimate.
That’s when the thought that if it could absorb special attacks, maybe it could absorb spells struck Roy.
Roy smiled, “Putting this theory into practice was my best choice to date. This will become my new trump card.”
He created and stored nine more Greater Fireballs in his subspace.
Just then, the system’s notification rang in his ears.
『Your subspace is full!』
『Items can’t be stored in it until you free its space!』
Roy could create space for another offensive spell by taking out some items, but he didn’t need to.
“I’ve been saving skill points for so long because I was looking for a skill enough to be invested in.” Roy’s lips thinned into a smile. Next, his eyes showed the same thing. “Now I have found it. It’s time to see how much the subspace will change when I inject skill points into it.”
Roy did as he said.
『You’ve put all your skill points into the soul spell, Subspace!』
『Ding! Congratulation. It has upgraded to Lvl 4.』
-The size of your subspace has increased to 50 km. Twice per year, you can open it entirely in reality. Any more than that would, at best, harm your soul and put you in a coma for an indefinite time and, at worst, destroy your soul, which would result in your death.
-You can put and take out any item from the subspace an unlimited number of times.
-Subspace can absorb three attacks of First-Stage Aura Masters. Any more than that might damage, shatter or destroy it.
-The number of Weapon Master’s attacks it can absorb has increased from ten to 100.
-The number of attacks below that level it can absorb is directly proportional to its size.
-You can open a 10-meter tall and 5-meter wide subspace twice every day.
“I-I have created a…. miracle!” Roy licked his dry lips after he read the details of the improved subspace.
The subspace has become too big—offensive spells numbering in thousands, if not more, could be stored in it.
But it would take days to fill it to the brim with spells.
“Maybe even Aura Master will die when they’re bombarded by spells manifesting out of nowhere and without any warnings. Hahahaha!”
It’s just that he could only use it twice per year, which means unless absolutely necessary, he shouldn’t use it.
Roy cracked his knuckled, opened up the system’s screen, and gazed at the black book in it. “Let’s learn this movement technique.”
『Ding! Would you like to learn the skill, Like a Ghost?』
It could only be used by a person with body morphing ability.
Basically, It was a technique meant for a person like him.
It was an impressive skill, to say the least.
“Yes…”
『Ding! Congratulation. You’ve learned the skill, Like a Ghost!』
Immediately he experienced a torrent of information ingraining with his mind; he learned everything there was to about this skill.
While training and creating new skills, he happened to chance upon the sight of Maya and Aydin chatting and standing under the shadow of a tree.
They hadn’t spoken a single word till now, and so everyone assumed that they couldn’t speak.
If he hadn’t come to the roof, he wouldn’t have seen this, and then just like his silly and cute maid, he too would’ve thought they were mutes.
“Hm? What are they talking about so secretively?” Roy’s eyebrow raised at the sight of them chatting while throwing glances left and right.
He didn’t want to, but as they were potential Major Villains, he had to eavesdrop on their conversation to see if they were planning something nefarious.
『Like a Ghost has activated!』
Starting from the head and slowly going down, Roy’s body started melting into wisps of mist, each of which infused with his ever-lessening shadow.
Soon, he was no more than a puddle of shadow.
His body changed, and so did his field of vision and senses.
He didn’t have ears, but he was able to hear the sound of the wind and feel the vibration of the building, and he had a 360° view of his surrounding.
“Amazing!”
This word came out of the shadowy puddle.
This surprised Roy.
“Eh? I can even speak in this state!” He exclaimed.
This shadowy body of his was capable of blending into the shadow of any item, be it a building, a pipe, or bushes and grasses.
Roy avoided the possibility of being found by moving from the shadow of one thing to another.
Eventually, he sneaked close to the twins without their notice.
“Our lives have been so better since that handsome man purchased us. We were fed well, clothed like humans, and given a bath, snacks, and a bed to sleep on. I can’t believe we’re experiencing this again after we got charged as criminals just because our parents turned out to be Chaotic beings.”
Roy: ‘It’s all thanks to me!’
Aydin glared at her. “Maya, don’t ever call our parents or relatives like that. It’s not even confirmed if they were followers of Chaos.”
Maya: “But the people….”
“Fuck them! Just because that damn Heavenly Duke accused them of being sinful believers, they believed it. He didn’t even have any proof. And I tell you, he intentionally burned their bodies to dust to hide that they weren’t infected with chaotic energy!” Aydin shouted.
Angry at the duke that cut open and burned his parents and relatives, Aydin gritted his teeth.
Roy: ‘Eh? Why does it sound like this Northern Duke accused them of the crime of being the followers of Chaos to cover up the real reason why he extinguished them?’
