Chapter 269 Finale (1/3)

“This is far from over!”

The Crimson Lord said to Roy as it split its soul further into more than a thousand pieces.

Each transformed into a bat-like monster that looked similar to Ganesha’s advisor and had black wings.

But there were some differences between them and Mister Bat.

Their fangs were longer than their bodies, and red lines were drawn all across their bodies.

“Is this your trump card?” Roy smirked, seeing them approach him.

“Find it out yourself!” It roared.

A huge red ball of fire burst out from the mouths of its many avatars as they closed in on him from all sides.

He was left with no place to run to.

Whoosh!

Hundreds of fireballs heated up the air, shooting toward him like a sea of stars.

“Is this all?!”

Roy’s sixth sense didn’t tingle, and he wasn’t feeling threatened either. His feelings and unique sense were in line with each other. Clearly, this wasn’t strong enough to bother him.

“I am disappointed. So very disappointed.Your ultimate screams of fear and desperation.”

Roy raised his eyebrow, and a blackball was created. It hid him within it, and then Roy touched its inside. Force gushed out of his hand in waves, coating it, and it solidified, becoming harder than steel.

Boom!

The thundering sound of a cluster of explosions rang out as countless fireballs erupted on the blackball. Endless cracks were created on it. The 99th fireball was about to burst the blackball into pieces when Roy mended it to peak conditions by feeding it more Force.

Roy was using minimal effort to overcome its wrath. The Crimson Lord’s eyes widened when it realized that. “He is looking down on me?… How dare he?!”

Its many avatars felt its anger and acted, bombarding blackball with another volley of fireballs.

“You little rat… watch how I drag you out of that!”

This time it acted too, sending countless lightning bolts towards it from behind the mist.

The previous event repeated.

Just as the blackball was about to shatter, Roy repaired it!

It was like he was playing Fortnite and building walls and bridges to guard himself against the enemy’s relentless attacks.

“Fuck this shit…” The crimson lord’s eyes twitched, and veins popped up on its head. Roy put it to shame! Its anger tripled. It wanted to rip him apart. Sadly, looks couldn’t kill. It couldn’t tear apart Roy’s defense with just its gaze alone.

“Are you going to hide in there forever, you coward!” The Crimson Lord shouted.

“Not necessarily.”

This was said in a calm voice. No one knew, but Roy was planning something big. Of course, the arrogant rank-5 spirit that was close to approaching rank-6 didn’t realize it either.

“You are stupid. You can’t hide in there forever. I can control the flow of the natural energies in this cave. Not a hint of it will get to you. Sooner or later, you will run out of aura. And that will be the end of you!”

The Crimson Lord didn’t have authority like the empire’s youngest prince, Victor. But it was the spirit of the Dragon’s Pond and had lived in this cave for 850+ years. It had set up countless enchantments in this place that benefited itself. And today, it was using them to give Roy a hard time. The draconian pressure acting on him was already three times that of the previous examiner, but he couldn’t restore his aura or mana. He will run out of it quickly if he keeps this up.

Thankfully, from the very start, Roy wasn’t planning to hide in this turtle shell and exhaust it to death.

『You have equipped the Evil Slayer Title』

『It’s detected that you have great killing intent in your heart』

『The special effect of your Title has activated』

『It has been condensed into weapons. You have absolute control over them.』

“I was hiding? How come I didn’t know that?” Roy said, and two arrows of darkness, along with countless star-like weapons, manifested around the black ball.

The arrows were the physical manifestation of Arrow Force, containing intense piercing power and the special characteristics of his black aura.

The spinning shurikens, on the other hand, were of a red color, signifying that they were the condensed version of his killing intent.

The Crimson Lord’s eyes widened. What happened next would have pissed him off if he didn’t want it to happen. He wanted this!

Whoosh!

All of them shot forward as the bats released fireballs. Roy waved his hands, and the ninja shurikens went around their attacks before piercing through their wings and stabbing into them.

Intense killing intent burst out of them in the shapes of red lines. These lines were sharper than a blade. Hundred of bats were shredded into pieces instantly as Roy’s killing intent shot to the ceiling!

Even the pressure of the Dragon’s Pond failed to bring the threads down that tied themselves around the limbs, wings, and neck of hundreds of bats going through them.

The next instant, red lines were drawn on their bodies.

Then, their bodies split into pieces.

『You have obliterated 550 parts of the Crimson Lord’s Soul.』

『You gained 550 Experience Points.』

『You acquired 550 Red Orbs!

The system’s notification sounded in Roy’s mind.

Ignoring it, he focused on controlling the arrows and the red threads made of his killing intent. He could feel a deep connection with them. They were like his limbs, a part of his body. He could control them with his hands and eyes. He multitasked, making them fly to and through his enemies.

Wisps of darkness were swirling around the arrows. They were as solid and sharp as the arrows’ tips. Anything that came close to it and everything it went through met the same end—an instant death.

『You have obliterated 800 parts of the Crimson Lord’s Soul. You get 800 Experience Points and ×800 Red Orbs!』

『The Crimson Lord has lost 7/10th of its soul. Its three steps away from entering its coffin!』

The system’s notification sounded in Roy’s mind, making him chuckle.

‘When did it learn to be sarcastic?’

He wondered before he looked at the mist behind which the Crimson Lord was hiding.

“You are wasting your time.” Roy dashed towards the other shore.

“Yeah, so? To stall you, that’s exactly my aim. Let’s die together when Voss gets here!”
