279 Kill them all
Aaron glanced at the people standing in his way. They were tens of masked people blocking him from all directions. They were the members who lived and worked on the small base that they attacked when they were coming here.
These people didn’t know who Aaron was. They were some low-ranked members after all, how would they know Aaron, who didn’t even have a proper nickname and had just joined them recently?
“You are surrounded, traitor.”
Someone scoffed at him.
“Give up and come back to the base with us. If you do, you will die less painfully.”
Aaron didn’t say anything and just stared at the person who was holding a sword at him.
These people didn’t know who he was, but they still called him a traitor.
It was because he used the code and password that was given to him by Philomns to enter the base. He had to do that in order to make it clear that he was indeed a Philomns member who wanted to betray them.
Aaron didn’t know if this was really the perfect thing to do. He wasn’t sure if it was wise to make an enemy out of Philomns. He knew for a fact that it would be much better and beneficial if he just stayed in Philomns, worked for them, and leaked information to his brother. It would be best if he acted as a spy, not perform and act to seem like he was a spy.
.....
But he just couldn’t. He couldn’t keep doing this anymore. He didn’t want to leave his stupid little brother alone anymore. He had seen enough. That brat got hurt almost every time he was on a mission and he almost died a few days ago.
He couldn’t take this anymore. How could he stay in the group that kept harming his brother and how could he let that fool work with the team that couldn’t protect him properly? What was the point of being a spy and helping those people from the shadows when his brother could die in any mission?
He didn’t think much of things. He didn’t even think deeply about the after effects of his actions, unlike how he always overthought everything. He only wanted to force his brother to stay in Philomns and if that was not possible he would force his way into SMF. That is all that was in his mind.
“Surrender!”
The masked man shouted again.
“Hah!”
A smile formed on the traitor’s face though the others couldn’t see it under his hood.
“Surrender...”
He mumbled. He raised his right hand. A spear was seen on the raised hand.
“I should be the one saying that.”
SHHHHHH
SHHHHHH
The soil on the ground started to shake and move. As that happened, the man holding the spear also started to move.
“Huh?”
For a second, the image of the hoodied man blurred from sight.
For it only to reappear a few steps away from where he was previously standing, right in front of the leader of the group.
POOFFF
And punch the man in the stomach.
“GASP!”
Clang
The man gasped. The sword he was holding fell to the ground as his grip on the sword loosened. He curled up and staggered back, covering his stomach with both hands.
“B-boss!”
“Sir!”
“That bastard!”
The other members, all enraged, moved their weapons and activated their powers, attacking Aaron all at once.
BANGGG
Aaron dug his spear into the ground.
SHHHHH
ONGGGG
SHHHHH
The ground shook. Huge and deep cracks appeared on its surface in no time, all of them connecting to each other at the center of the cracks, the spear that was dug in the ground.
The people rushing at him lost balance and fell down to the ground one by one. Aaron could hear their gasps and groans coming from every direction.
A smile formed on his lips.
“I don’t really give a damn about what is going on in this world, but I’ve heard that you people are the bad guys here.”
He said towards the falling Philomns members.
“I don’t have a grudge, okay? And I don’t really like to kill people.”
SHHHHH
While saying those words, he raised his left hand to the air. Soil rose up from the ground as if it was awakened by his call and started to gather in one place.
“But I guess I have no choice. Don’t be too mad at me, you will be killed anyway, if not by my hands, by the hands of those fools calling themselves agents!”
The soil that had gathered in the air soon condensed to one spot. They formed the shape of a sphere that was floating on top of the man’s hand.
“Bastard!”
“Who the hell does he think he is?”
Aaron completely ignored the insults and curses and only focused on the sphere in his palm. He was smiling while looking at it.
SHHH
SHHH
The ground stopped shaking as the sphere moved higher in the air. The Philomns members stood up and grabbed their weapons, attempting to rush at Aaron and attack him again.
But they couldn’t do so.
BAAAANGGGGG
The sphere exploded at that moment. The condensed soil burst open, sending countless small condensed soil in all directions.
“Argh!”
“Ack!”
The fragments cut the skin of the people trying to attack Aaron and dug into their flesh. Screams rose to the air and the blood wet the ground. Soon, the whole place was filled with the smell of blood and the pained groans of people.
“Hmm...”
Aaron looked around.
Tens of people were either sprawled on the ground or were barely standing up while covering their wounds. A few were dead while countless was severally injured.
“As expected, it works better with aura.”
He mumbled again while thinking back about a memory.
It was a situation similar to this. They were fighting a group of people, actually unit 5, alongside another one of the Philomns ranks, The First.
It was then that he had seen this attack. The man had created a sphere with his aura and had shot everyone with aura blades, almost winning the battle with that only move. It almost looked like an ultimate attack, though Aaron knew that it was probably not The First’s ultimate attack as he wasn’t even using all of his power to fight.
But the attack in itself was amazing. At least he thought it was. It looked strong and efficient while fighting against a large group of people. He wanted to test it out too, but the result was not satisfying enough. His attack was weaker than The First’s.
“That other attack was nice as well.”
The one the team leader of that unit used. Those small threads of space. They were strong as well. He wanted to try that out with his power and test if it was a better attack than his own attacks.
SHHHH
SHHHH
Soil rose to the air again, this time taking a shape different from the previous sphere.
“A-Attack him!”
“Don’t let him complete that thing!”
Startled by his movement, the Philomns members rushed at him to stop him from performing his next attack. Aaron dodged the swords and blades aimed at him by jumping around and blocking the attacks from different unique skills using his soil shield. These people were not strong. They were some low-rank members, they weren’t even a match for him.
That’s why he was enjoying his time testing out new things.
New things were always interesting. He had seen a lot of new things since coming to this world so he was having a fun time here... until he found his brother and his fun was ruined.
In this world, everything was organized. All of the unique skill holders were educated accordingly and their powers were distinguished nicely. There were countless new techniques and a lot of fun information.
It was totally different from the place he came from. It was a safe world, unlike where he used to live. There were a few incidents, a few wars, and a terrorist organization, but this place was still more than peaceful compared to his own world.
.....
SHHHHHHH
SHHHHHHH
The soil he was controlling was now condensed in the shape of countless thick lines. Thick and stiff stone-like things were floating in the air.
“Uh... I guess I can’t control soil like it is a thread...”
He said with disappointment. He couldn’t play with the soil the way that the team leader of unit 5 played with Space.
The people were still attacking him and he didn’t have much time to lose, so he dust decided to change his attack to something else, creating thin and tall blades of soil out of the threads and sending them one by one to the enemies.
“Argh!”
“Damn-”
Soon, the screams rose to the air once again. Blood splashed everywhere and some bodies fell to the ground.
The man was smiling while looking at the scene.
This world was pretty interesting. He was learning new things all the time, thought the method in which he learned it was probably a little bit... brutal.
There were still people attacking him. The group he was facing was only a portion of the Philomns members who were after them. He had a long battle on.
Aaron looked at the bodies on the ground before raising his head and looking up at the person sitting on top of a stone wall. His little brother, Kairen, who had always been a scared kid who hid behind his back all the time, despite struggling to show himself strong and confident all the time, was the one who had planned something that would lead to these people’s deaths.
Aaron wondered if he was okay with this? He was the one killing these people, but Kairen was still involved and had a big rule in their deaths.
Was his baby brother really okay by having so much blood on his hands?
He didn’t know. He didn’t need to know. Nothing would change even if he knew it anyway. That boy was his brother, and nothing would ever change that fact.
