Ai Yan suddenly received a call from the hospital, two days before the competition, mentioning that Xiao Qing had fainted. She ran into Song Ling Xiao at the door, and when he knew that Xiao Qing was hospitalised, he ran to the parking lot to get his car and rushed to the hospital with Ai Yan.
Ai Yan asked the nurse for directions and ran directly to the ward, while Song Ling Xiao went to the doctor. The doctor said that there was nothing wrong and that it was caused by low blood sugar. There was a follow-up checkup performed later, and if the results indicated there were no other problems, she could be discharged.
Upon hearing the doctor’s words, Song Ling Xiao was then able to let out a breath of relief. Ai Yan saw Xiao Qing lying on the hospital bed playing with her cell phone, she also breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that nothing was wrong.
Song Ling Xiao told Ai Yan that he had something to attend to, so he went back first.
Song Ling Xiao and Liang Chen were setting up the piano room. It was not easy to get an appointment for the competition, they have to maximise the opportunity. Because of Ai Yan, Song Ling Xiao had an extra helper, Liang Chen.
“Will this thing be too fancy ah”, Song Ling Xiao looked at the balloon in Liang Chen’s hand with some disgust. “This is too childish, she probably would not like it.”
“You trust me, don’t you? Ai Yan especially likes these. Girls, how can they refuse such cute things?” Liang Chen looked smug. He thought he knew Ai Yan, he would understand Xiao Qing.
“Forget it, I don’t believe Xiao Qing will like it, she is not the same as Ai Yan.”
Hearing that, Liang Chen threw the balloon in his hand aside and began to get the small vintage table lamp and oil painting next to him. Speaking in a low voice, he muttered: “These are not cute; they will certainly not attract girls’ interest.”
Liang Chen himself was more childish, and Ai Yan was also like a child, so they were well-matched. However, when it was for Song Ling Xiao and Xiao Qing, this method would certainly not work.
Ai Yan stood at the door and called Liang Chen, she was afraid that Xiao Qing would hear her and spoke in a particularly low voice.
A doctor and nurse ran over next to her, and the nurse said urgently, “Dr Zhang, the patient’s condition is very bad. There was a sudden cerebral haemorrhage.” It just so happened to knock off Ai Yan’s cell phone. Maybe the microphone was damaged, so although she heard Liang Chen ask “what happened,” her answer could not be heard by him.
Liang Chen asked several questions, but no one answered, he hung up the phone and looked at Song Ling Xiao with a bewildered face.
“Xiao Qing’s situation is very bad, sudden cerebral haemorrhage.”
“What?” After saying that, he threw down the things in his hands and ran out. Liang Chen followed in a hurry.
Ai Yan heard their conversation clearly. She knew that the two of them would definitely come to the hospital immediately. She rushed to the hospital entrance, ready to see them and explain immediately.
Song Ling Xiao found a place to park on the side of the road, there was really no time to find a spot in the hospital parking lot again.
When he arrived at the hospital entrance, he saw Ai Yan across the road, he rushed over but collided with the speeding motorcycle. Fortunately, he dodged quickly, but his arm was cut by the roadside guardrail with blood flowing down.
When he arrived at the hospital, the doctor gave him a tetanus shot and his wound was bandaged. The doctor said not to move this arm for a while to prevent the wound from splitting open. After making sure that Xiao Qing was okay, he left because he didn’t want Xiao Qing to know that he was injured because of her.
After he took care of his business, he greeted Ai Yan, went to the door of the ward to see Xiao Qing, and went home.
Competition two days later, he endured the pain. He intended to play as well as he could and not let Xiao Qing notice anything wrong. He did not expect that there was still a mistake. However, the good thing was that she did not ask more questions. And Ai Yan was worried precisely about Song Ling Xiao’s injury, she lied to Xiao Qing because she was the only one who could take care of Song Ling Xiao, at least at that time, because Liang Chen definitely could not be counted on. Moreover, all the misunderstandings were caused by her and the unreliable Liang Chen.
She knew that Song Ling Xiao liked Xiao Qing, and she also knew that Xiao Qing had Song Ling Xiao in her heart, but what she didn’t expect was that a lie had led to her misunderstanding, and she took it all out on Song Ling Xiao.
In the following days, Ling Xiao skipped class almost every day, he would come to Ai Yan every day to ask her about Xiao Qing’s condition. When he saw that there was no one in Xiao Qing’s seat, he couldn’t help but feel a little lost in his heart. His heart felt empty when he was not able to see Xiao Qing. It was not until he saw Xiao Qing’s notepad with his name written in bunches that he gathered the courage to go see her, wanting to have an unforgettable birthday with her. What he didn’t expect to hear was her rejection and a few words that broke his heart.
However, he did not blame her.
That night, he drank by himself in a bar, spilling an unknown amount of alcohol on his wounds. When he was found by the housekeeper, he was already drunk and unconscious. Seeing his son like this, Song Father was heartbroken. He could only call the family doctor to help him treat his wound and re-dress it for him, but the wound in his heart, Song Father didn’t know how to help him heal it, and he promised his son to give him one last chance.
But on Xiao Qing’s birthday, unexpectedly, but…
He promised his father that if Xiao Qing did not agree, then in the future, he would no longer see her, Song Father did not want his son to have a scar on his arm. That day, he used all his strength, grabbed Xiao Qing’s arm, and she fiercely flung his arm away, the wound oozed blood, staining the bandage.
To protect him, Song Father had to put him under house arrest, not allowing him to see Xiao Qing, not allowing him to go to school, and not even allowing him to leave the house.
