Chapter 81 - Volunteered To Come With Her

Li Qin Yao stared at her trembling hands before she looked out the window, as she prayed that they will arrive at the hospital soon.

Just a while ago, she was still queuing at the Fujian cuisine restaurant to meet up with her best friend, Han Yue Xiu, while chatting with the Zhang's when suddenly she received a call from Han Yue Xiu who then told her that she was at the hospital after she encountered a snatcher thief on her way to the restaurant.

Because Han Yue Xiu was holding on to her purse tightly, the thief had resulted in violence, and Han Yue Xiu was injured. The thief then escaped after he got what he wanted and escaped. Fortunately, there was a group of teenagers who walked pass by and helped her to the hospital.

When Li Qin Yao first heard of the news that Han Yue Xiu was injured, her mind had suddenly turned blank and for a few seconds, she did not know what to do. Then, she came to her senses and excused herself from Zhang's family to go to her friend's side.

It was then that Zhang Yu Han had stopped her.

Apparently, the Zhang had overheard bits of her conversation with Han Yue Xiu and was worried when they heard that she was going to drive to the hospital. Hearing that, Zhang Yu Han had volunteered to come with her, and after Zhang Jing and Zhang Yu Ying's persuasion, Li Qin Yao finally agreed to let Zhang Yu Han come along.

If only she had insisted on picking up Han Yue Xiu at her apartment instead of agreeing to meet at the restaurant, then, Han Yue Xiu would not get into this accident.

Li Qin Yao was consumed with guilt and regrets. She stared at her trembling hands and knew that without Zhang Yu Han, she probably would not be able to drive properly as she was too worried about her friend.

Fortunately, she was not too stubborn and had let Zhang Yu Han drive her car for her. At her current state now, it was not suitable for her to drive.

With that thought, Li Qin Yao turned to the man who sat at the driver seat with a look of gratitude. Although that man's side profile looks very handsome right now, Li Qin Yao did not have the time to appreciate his look due to her worry.

"Everything will be alright," Zhang Yu Han spoke. He glanced at Li Qin Yao before he focused on the road. Zhang Yu Han has been watching the girl through his peripheral vision and noticed her shaky legs and trembling hands.

"Yes." Li Qin Yao nodded absentmindedly.

"Your friend is already brought in to the hospital and had received the treatment. She will be alright. Just take a deep breath."

Hearing Zhang Yu Han's deep vibrating voice, Li Qin Yao felt a bit calmer. After inhaling a deep breath, the trembling in her hands had stopped. Li Qin Yao glanced at the man beside her again and gave him a weak smile. "Mister Zhang. Thank you for accompanying me."

"You don't have to be so polite. After all, we are friends, right?" He glanced at her with a reassuring smile. "Besides, my grandfather and I would be worried if we let you go alone."

Li Qin Yao nodded again. "Thank you."

Zhang Yu Han could only sigh at her words. However, he also knew that Li Qin Yao was too worried about her friend that she could not think of anything else. Thus, he can only drive to the hospital silently.

Once they arrived at the hospital, Zhang Yu Han stopped near the entrance and turned to look at Li Qin Yao. "You should go first and look for your friend. I will come over to you once I find a parking spot. You have my number, right?" Once he saw her nodded, Zhang Yu Han smiled at her. "Go."

Li Qin Yao exited her car and immediately went to the counter to look for Han Yue Xiu. The nurse at the station pointed her the direction, and Li Qin Yao immediately saw Han Yue Xiu's figure sitting on the bed from a distance away. A young nurse was tending after her injuries. Looking at the scene before her, Li Qin Yao was chocked with tears.

She stepped slowly towards her friends and gritted her teeth so that she won't shed a tear. Once she arrived at the bed, Han Yue Xiu tilted her head up and smiled as their gaze met.

"Yao Yao." Once Han Yue Xiu saw her friend, instantly, her tears fell on her cheek.

Looking at Han Yue Xiu's tears as if she had just given her a scolding, made Li Qin Yao started to panic. "Why are you crying? I haven't said anything yet."

Han Yue Xiu pouted as she wiped her tears with the back of her hands. "Yao Yao, it hurts."

Li Qin Yao stared at her friends from her head to her feet. There was a slight abrasion on both her arms. Her left legs were bandaged, and a big, white plaster on her head. Instantly, Li Qin Yao turned to the nurse beside her and asked for Han Yue Xiu's condition.

Fortunately, Han Yue Xiu was not severely injured and she will be able to go home after her wound was dressed. She sprained her ankle and she knocked her head on the ground. The abrasion on her arms happened as she was dragged on the street, trying to prevent the thief from stealing her purse.

Han Yue Xiu calmed down after a while and started to retell what had happened earlier when she saw a familiar figure, craning his neck as if looking from someone. The words she wanted to say immediately disappeared from her mind as she continued to watch the man walking towards her direction.

Her eyes grew wider and Han Yue Xiu finally raised her hand to poke at Li Qin Yao's waist.

Seeing that there was something wrong with Han Yue Xiu, Li Qin Yao followed her gaze and saw that Zhang Yu Han walked over to them. He stopped once he reached them and smiled.

"Miss Han, hello."

"Hello." Han Yue Xiu stared at him with a puzzled expression.

"I heard of what happened to you through Miss Li. Are you alright?" Zhang Yu Han asked.

Han Yue Xiu could only reply to him with a nod. Then, she poked at Li Qin Yao's waist a few times.

Li Qin Yao snapped out of her thought and immediately understood Han Yue Xiu's subtle inquiries. "Right. I met Mister Zhang while queuing in front of the restaurant. Once he heard that you got into an accident, he offered to drive me here."

Han Yue Xiu's nodded and her lips were smiling as she heard Li Qin Yao's explanation. "Mister Zhang. Thank you. I know Yao Yao for years and once she started worrying too much, she won't be able to do things right. Luckily, you were around. Or else, I would worry about Yao Yao's driving skills."

"It's not a problem." Zhang Yu Han said, he glanced at Li Qin Yao and a slight smile appeared on his face. He then turned to Han Yue Xiu to ask about her condition. Once he had helped Han Yue Xiu to settle with her treatment fee, Zhang Yu Han took them to the police station to file a report, and then, sent the two girls back to Han Yue Xiu's apartment.
