Chapter 147 - Are You Turning Into a Shut-in?

Once she returned from the trip to L City, Li Qin Yao was suddenly piled up with work. The old factories at the site were demolished and the people from QL Headquarters came to B City to study the location. There was a lot of paperwork to be dealt with, and more people that she should meet before the construction could begin.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yu Han too was busy. Previously, he had left his work to court Li Qin Yao, and now that he's back at the company, he had to teach his sister a few things before she could take over some of his work burdens.

However, despite the busy schedule, Zhang Yu Han would always find a time to drive over to B City to see his girlfriend and the two would spend their time talking about their daily life while having a meal.

Li Qin Yao was looking at the lists of suppliers when her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and saw that it was Han Yue Xiu. After giving a quick instruction to Liang Sheng, Li Qin Yao saw her assistant out her office before she picked up the call.

As usual, Han Yue Xiu would ask her friend if she was free to talk before she would prattle about her dull life, and tease her friend on her relationship with a certain tall and handsome man.

Anyway, Han Yue Xiu had too much time on hand.

Ever since Song Yi had appeared at her parents' apartment, Han Yue Xiu has been locking herself in the house and had not stepped out for fear that she was going to run into that lunatic guy.

Fortunately, Song Yi had not appeared in front of her ever since.

Han Yue Xiu thought that it was good that she had made a report to the security to strengthen their security and prevent anyone who was not a residence to enter the building freely.

After chatting with her friend for a while, Han Yue Xiu went into the kitchen to grab a few packets of chips before she went back into her room to watch a few horror movies that she had downloaded.

As usual, she turned off the light and closed the door to get into the mood.

The movie had a good review, and after half an hour of watching the movie, Han Yue Xiu thought that although the plot was interesting, there was too much dialogue that was starting to give her headache. However, because the ghost had pretty good makeup, it can be considered quite scary.

At that moment, Han Yue Xiu had arrived at the moment where the female lead had stupidly entered the house despite knowing that it was a bad decision to go in.

Just as Han Yue Xiu was concentrating on the laptop screen, suddenly, the door swung open and Han Yue Xiu let out a loud scream along with the female lead.

Han Yue Xiu looked up from the screen and saw that her mother was screaming along with her.

Seeing that it was only her mother, Han Yue Xiu patted at her chest and frowned. "Mom, what are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Who told you to scream so loud like that? Are you trying to disturb the whole neighborhood?" Mother Han spoke. She entered her daughter's daughter and turned on the light, causing Han Yue Xiu to narrow her eyes to adjust to the bright light.

Mother Han frowned as she looked around the room. "Han Yue Xiu, what are you doing in this room?"

"I'm watching a movie-" Han Yue Xiu mumbled as she dusted off some crumble on her shirt.

"Are you turning into a shut-in?" Mother Han continued. She walked into the room and started to pick up some dirty clothes lying on the floor. "Why are you spending your time in the room all day?"

Han Yue Xiu took a deep breath as she continued to listen to her mother's nagging. Slowly, she started to tune out whatever her mother had said before she stared at the wall in a daze.

"Han Yue Xiu, are you listening to me?" Mother Han put both hands on her waist as she stared at her daughter in anger.

"What? What?" Han Yue Xiu snapped out of her trance and blinked as she stared at her mother.

"I already arranged a blind date for you. This Saturday. I don't care. This time, you have to show up!"

Han Yue Xiu's eyes widened as she stared at her mother. "But why!?" She had thought that her mother was done arranging a blind date for her.

"You been spending your day watching horror movie all day long," Mother Han complained. "It has been a long time. When was the last time you stepped out of this house?"

"Mom," Han Yue Xiu said with a sigh. At this moment, she was trying to find an excuse so that she did not have to show up to another blind date.

"No. This is non-negotiable," Mother Han was quick to speak before her daughter could come up with an excuse.

It seemed as if after spending her time watching too much movie and eating too much junk food, her brain could not think as fast as she used to.

These days, she had tried to find a job, but she did not know why her applications were all rejected.

The company would say that she was overqualified and they could not afford to hire her. Even though Han Yue Xiu had mentioned that she did not mind a lower salary, the companies still did not wish to hire her.

"It's not like you have anything else to do," Mother Han said. "Anyway, your father and I had a long discussion. It's either that you go to see this guy, or you can no longer stay in this house."

"Mom, are you kicking me out?" Han Yue Xiu's face turned black.

"You can think that if you want." Mother Han said. "But Yue Xiu ah, your mom and dad are only worried about you, alright?"

Han Yue Xiu let out another sigh as she heard her mother's words. She was actually weak whenever her mom would say that she was worried about her. Now that she had grown up, the most thing she did not want was to let her parents worry about her.

In the end, after a long time of negotiation, Han Yue Xiu had no other choice but to agree to her mother's arrangement. Anyway, Han Yue Xiu decided that this will be the last time that she was going to attend a blind date.
