Chapter 158 - Special Delivery From Capital City

Li Qin Yao returned to her office the next week and was immediately slumped in works. Due to that previous incident two years ago, she wanted to pay more attention to the suppliers.

Because of her negligence, someone had forged her signature to approve the use of cheap materials.

Now that she had been given the chance to work on such a huge project, Li Qin Yao did not want to repeat the same mistake. Moreover, she did not want her mistake to harm Zhang Yu Han and his friends. They have invested a lot of money on the project and trust her.

Liang Sheng entered her office carrying a few documents in his hand. He placed the documents on Li Qin Yao's table and stood at the side. "Miss Li, these are the shortlisted companies."

Li Qin Yao browsed through the papers and paused when she saw one of the companies names. WS Company? Why was that name sound familiar?

"Miss Li, is there something wrong?" Liang Sheng asked.

Li Qin Yao snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head. "No. Nothing's wrong." She slid the paperback to Liang Sheng and said, "You can proceed as planned. The representative should be here soon, right?"

Liang Sheng took the paper and the two of them discussed for a while about their plan. Then, he stood beside her table and took out a few envelopes. "Miss Li, I met with the Chairman last weekend and he wanted me to give you these."

"What are these?" Li Qin Yao looked at the envelope and noticed that she had received them a few days ago.

"It's Director Li Ming Han wedding invitation," Liang Sheng explained. "The chairman wanted you to pass them to the three investors of the project."

Li Qin Yao stared at the envelope for a while and nodded. "Sure. Thank you, Liang Sheng."

Liang Sheng nodded. Then he left the office to hurry with the preparation of the meeting.

Not too long after Liang Sheng had left, Xiao Lian Yi knocked on her door to announced that the preparation was completed and the meeting will be starting soon.

Li Qin Yao nodded before she asked, "Is Director Zhang here yet?"

Xiao Lian Yi shook her head. "I don't think he's here yet."

Li Qin Yao sent Xiao Lian Yi into the meeting room and told her to let Liang Sheng handle the meeting and she will be there soon once Director Zhang has arrived. Then, she walked to the entrance, took out her phone, and dialed Zhang Yu Han's number.

The phone was connected after one ring.

Li Qin Yao pressed the phone to her ear and spoke in a lower voice, "Zhang Yu Han. Where are you? Are you coming?"

"I'm here."

Li Qin Yao turned to the glass door and saw her boyfriend walked towards the door. Once their gaze met, Zhang Yu Han hastened his speed to reach to her side.

"Sorry. I'm late," Zhang Yu Han smiled apologetically.

"What's wrong? Was the traffic bad?"

Zhang Yu Han let out a low chuckle. "You can say that." He turned towards the door and soon, a familiar figure was seen walking towards them with a box in his hand.

Li Qin Yao frowned when she recognized that man as Zhang Yu Han's assistant in Capital City, Xiao Ye. She looked at Zhang Yu Han with a questioning gaze. "Why is your assistant here?"

Zhang Yu Han did not answer her question. He helped to pull the door for Xiao Ye before he took the box that his assistant was carrying. "For you. Special delivery from our hotel in Capital City," Zhang Yu Han passed the box to Li Qin Yao and smiled.

Li Qin Yao looked at the familiar-looking pink pastel box and turned to Zhang Yu Han in surprise. "Is this not-- Why did you suddenly give me these desserts?"

"Didn't I promise to send you a box of Chef Qin's handcrafted dessert?" Zhang Yu Han chuckled. "I asked Chef Qin to prepare them and had Xiao Ye to deliver it here."

Xiao Ye smiled as his boss mentioned his name. As Xiao Ye thought about the desserts, he had the urge to cry. When he came to the kitchen to pick up the dessert box, Chef Qin had spoken a few nasty words; something about food safety and he didn't usually let others take away his craft.

Then, his boss, Zhang Yu Han had threatened to cut off his salary if he failed to deliver the dessert in perfect condition. In the end, he had arrived later than he should and had to face Zhang Yu Han's anger.

"You brought this all over from Capital City?" Li Qin Yao turned to Xiao Ye in shock.

She had merely joked with Zhang Yu Han the other day as he had forgotten about what he had said. Li Qin Yao did not think that he would ask his assistant to deliver them to B City!

Xiao Ye merely smiled to respond.

"Thank you, Xiao Ye," Li Qin Yao said. "It must be tiring to come here just to deliver this. Would you like something to drink? I'll ask someone to bring you something."

Xiao Ye wanted to cry. Fortunately, his boss's girlfriend was nicer to him. Just as he was about to answer, Xiao Ye noticed the look that Zhang Yu Han gave him. In the end, he can only excuse himself and leave. Anyway, he still needed to catch a flight back to Capital City.

"You only thank Xiao Ye?" Zhang Yu Han spoke after his assistant had left. He looked at his girlfriend with a sour expression.

Li Qin Yao laughed. Once she was sure that there was no one else around, Li Qin Yao stood on tiptoed and kissed him on the cheek. "Zhang Yu Han, thank you."

His lips immediately curved into a smile.

"I better put these in my office," Li Qin Yao said.

Zhang Yu Han nodded before he followed Li Qin Yao to her office. He watched as Li Qin Yao opened the box and took a bite at one of the desserts. Zhang Yu Han chuckled, seeing the way she closed her eyes in satisfaction as she tasted the cake. "Is it good?"

"Un. They're sweet. I really like them," Li Qin Yao nodded happily.

Zhang Yu Han felt satisfied seeing her happy smile that he could not help but smile too. However, his smile stiffened and his eyes darkened when he saw the way she licked the cream on the corner of her lips.

"Would you like to taste them?" Li Qin Yao asked as she turned to him. "Be quick. We still need to meet the suppliers."

Zhang Yu Han walked over to Li Qin Yao, put both hands on her waist, and pulled her closer before he kissed her lips softly. After a while, he pulled away and smiled. "Un. Very sweet."
