Chapter 157 - Don't You Remember?

Zhang Yu Han woke up from his sleep with a terrible headache. He took the time to look around his surroundings and noticed that he had spent his night in his grandfather's mansion.

After a while, he tried to think of what had happened last night.

Zhang Yu Han remembered hanging out with the boys to introduce his girlfriend to them. And then, everyone made him drink too much. The last thing he remembered was taking out his card to pay for their meal.

And then what?

After a few minutes of thinking, Zhang Yu Han concluded that Wei Jun Hao must have arranged someone to bring him to his grandfather's place.

Suddenly, Zhang Yu Han sat up with a jolt.

Li Qin Yao!

He was supposed to drop her at her friend's place last night. But now, he could not remember what happened to her after that dinner. Zhang Yu Han scrambled to find his phone and found that it was out of battery.

It was after he had calm down that Zhang Yu Han deduced that he must have asked Wei Jun Hao to send Li Qin Yao to her friend's apartment.

Did he?

After plugging on the charger, Zhang Yu Han poured himself a glass of water and then, went into the bathroom to freshen up himself. Then, he picked up his phone and gave a call to Li Qin Yao. When she did not pick it up, Zhang Yu Han started to send a series of text in panic.

Seeing that his girlfriend was not going to answer his messages, Zhang Yu Han felt as if his blood drained. He changed his clothes, grabbed his keys and wallet, and headed out downstairs.

Then, he stood at the dining room with a look of disbelief.

Why is his girlfriend here?

Zhang Yu Han stood still as he continued to watch his girlfriend and his sister in the kitchen with Auntie Wu. The two girls were chatting lively while tasting the food that Auntie Wu had prepared.

Zhang Yu Ying was the first who noticed her brother's appearance at the door. She tilted her head and asked, "You're up now?"

Swiftly, both Li Qin Yao and Auntie Wu followed Zhang Yu Ying's gaze. Seeing Zhang Yu Han at the door, Auntie Wu quickly grabbed a bowl and poured in some hangover soup for him.

Zhang Yu Han drank the soup obediently with his eyes trained on his girlfriend. He finished the soup and walked over to Li Qin Yao. "How come you're here? I didn't drop you off to your friend's place?"

"You didn't remember what happened last night?" Li Qin Yao tested.

Zhang Yu Han tried to recall his memory but nothing came up.

"Last night, Brother Jun Hao called and tell me that you passed out. So I have to come over and pick you up, don't you remember?" Zhang Yu Ying said. "When I arrived, you held on sister-in-law's hand tightly and refused to let go. We can't drop of sister-in-law at her friend's apartment with such a situation. Therefore, we decided to let sister-in-law spend the night here."

Zhang Yu Han looked at the two of them alternately. Even after his sister had mentioned what happened, Zhang Yu Han still could not recall anything.

"Sorry," Zhang Yu Han said to Li Qin Yao. "I was supposed to send you back to your friend's place last night."

"It's fine," Li Qin Yao waved it off with a smile. "Fortunately, I can still wear Yu Ying's clothes."

"Sorry," Zhang Yu Han heaved a long breath. He could not describe the guilt he felt. He had promised that he will send her, but he did not know what happened to him, and he did not do as he had promised.

What he hated most was to break a promise he made.

Zhang Yu Han looked at Li Qin Yao and noticed the dark circle around her eyes. A fear that he has done something to trouble her last night arose in his mind.

"Zhang Yu Han, are you feeling better now?" Li Qin Yao looked at him with worry.

Zhang Yu Han nodded. He observed her for a while and did not see any change in the way she looked at him. "I hope I did not cause you trouble last night."

"You're well behaved when you're drunk," Li Qin Yao chuckled. "Other than holding my hand the whole night. You did not do anything."

Zhang Yu Han exhaled in relief. He was worried that he had acted inappropriately. He wouldn't know what he would do if he had accidentally offended his girlfriend.

"Sorry. I promise that I won't drink too much the next time. After breakfast, let me send you back to your place, alright?"

Li Qin Yao nodded.

Soon, Auntie Wu called out Zhang Jing and the four of them ate their breakfast in harmony. Zhang Jing suggested for Li Qin Yao to stay around and let Zhang Yu Han send her home after lunch.

Since it has been a while since the last time she talked with Zhang Jing and figuring that Zhang Yu Han still needed to rest, Li Qin Yao immediately agreed and the two of them spent time discussing the project in B City.

It wasn't until lunch hour did Zhang Yu Han could see his girlfriend again.

Regretfully, he was not able to spend time with her although she was so close to him.

During the travel back to B City, both Li Qin Yao and Zhang Yu Han were quiet. Anyway, Li Qin Yao was used to Zhang Yu Han's habit to drive in silence.

Back when they have started dating, Li Qin Yao had asked him about this habit. And Zhang Yu Han had told her that since he was responsible for her life, then, he would like to concentrate fully on the road.

With the quiet atmosphere, Li Qin Yao spent her time thinking about Zhang Yu Han's confession. Last night, she could not sleep well because of it. Her heart was bursting with sweetness and her lips could not stop smiling.

In the end, she rolled around the bed in one of the guest rooms in Zhang's mansion before she finally fell asleep.

However, when she looked at the man beside her, Li Qin Yao could tell that he had no recollection of that moment.

After almost an hour of driving, Zhang Yu Han parked at the apartment and went over the passenger side to help his girlfriend. Zhang Yu Han noticed the strange look on his girlfriend's face and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Zhang Yu Han, do you remember what you told me last night?"

Zhang Yu Han frowned. He tried to recall, but could not remember anything important. "What did I say to you?"

Li Qin Yao did not know whether she wanted to laugh or cry.

She actually spent her night rolling around in like a lovesick schoolgirl, thinking about those words he said, but this man had no recollection of saying them.

Li Qin Yao lowered her head in disappointment, but quickly lifted her face and pretended that there was nothing wrong.

Since he did not remember what he had said, Li Qin Yao has decided that she will pretend that she had not heard his words. She was too embarrassed to casually bring it out.

Anyway, like this, Li Qin Yao hoped that Zhang Yu Han will say those words again when he was sober, and then, she could tell him what she felt too.

"Nothing important," Li Qin Yao shook her head and smiled. "Just that, Zhang Yu Han, last night, you promised that you will send me a box of Chef Qin's handcrafted dessert. Don't you remember?"

Zhang Yu Han stared at her in a daze. "I did?"

Li Qin Yao nodded. Her smile grew wider as she watched his confused expression.
