Chapter 123 Kerr

Her eyes slowly moved to the student who just spoke and immediately she released some of her her mana pressure, focusing it on the rude student.

"What did you say... Kerr?" She slowly asked with a cold look on her face.

The face of the student known as kerr morphed into one of fear the moment he felt Sarah's pressure.

Despite being a stage two Elementalist on his own, he could feel the huge pressure bearing down on his shoulders.

It was as a heavy mountain was placed above him, slowly and agonisingly trying to crush him.

His knees started quaking and before long he found himself slowly trying to kneel on the ground.

He then tried fighting back using his own mana pressure, but the moment he tried that, the amount of pressure on him increased fourfold, and his knees fell to the ground before he knew it.

The other two students standing beside him also felt chills run down their spines. Although the pressure wasn't focused on them, the amount and density of the mana oozing out of her was nothing to scoff at and it made the air seem a little choking.

'She really isn't no 1 for nothing...' They both agreed in their minds, feeling bad for the black haired boy who was unfortunate to get in her bad side.

Harry was the only one not affected despite sarah releasing her mana pressure. He was Manaless so mana pressure didn't affect him in the slightest.

'I guess she's also prideful in her own way.' He thought. Perhaps it was because the last time, she didn't exactly show her power, but Harry felt like her mana had become denser and her overall power had increased; albeit slightly.

"I said what did you say...?" Sarah asked again, in a cold voice. "Did you mean I chose wrongly?"

"N-no... I'm sorry!" He hurriedly said, feeling pains from the force of his knees digging into the hard floor. 'I can't do anything... is this the amount of distance between our strengths?'

Just then, sarah suddenly retracted her mana pressure, causing Kerr to heave a sigh of relief.

Sarah sighed before placing her hand on her face. She felt like she and overreacted a little, it was just that people like the black haired student in question annoyed her.

People who thought of themselves higher than others just because they were a little stronger.

She only picked him because of his fire element and to balance the team properly, if he showed any signs of being a handicap for the team, she wouldn't hesitate to send him off.

After all, there were a lot of fire elementalists in the academy and the deadline to select team members wasn't over yet.

Suddenly, her eyes shone with a strange glint as she stared at the black haired student.

"Unworthy students who shouldn't be here... uh?" She muttered, but still, all those in the room could hear her.

"Fine. Show me one of those students who are unworthy of being here then..." She said.

Kerr hurriedly got up from his knees while breathing heavily, the memories of what happened before still haunted him and he felt afraid at the sight of Sarah's face. 'She's so... scary.'

"Huh?" He mumbled when he heard her words.

"I said show me the ones who are unworthy." Sarah repeated, her voice colder, sending child down Kerr's spine.

Seeing the expression on her face, he immediately tried to back down, to explain that there was no need for that anymore.

However, sarah shut him up with a cold glare before he even had a chance to speak.

He gulped, with small beads of sweat looking around his forehead.

Suddenly his eyes shone. Wasn't this an opportunity, to get rid of the one that irritated him?

A smile appeared on his face as he suddenly he turned towards Harry who stood by his side, staring at him with a smug expression on his face.

"He has only been an elementalist for barely two months... why does he have to be in the same team as us?" By "us" he meant, he and sarah who were the "strong ones" in the group.

Harry simply stared at him with an indifferent expression that only served to increase the anger he felt.

He wasn't surprised at Kerr's words, not in the least.

In fact, he had already expected it. From the way Kerr had been glaring at him from the beginning, it was obvious that he disliked being in the same team as him.

Besides, not everyone in the academy had the nicest thoughts of him. Some felt like he cheated his way into becoming an Elementalist, while some saw him as weak since he only started elemental training a few months ago.

The only ones who knew that wasn't true were the elementalists who had fought him him and witnessed a glimpse of his true strength.

The other two Elementalist who stood beside Harry had awkward expressions on their faces. There didn't know what to do in this situation and just decided to let everything play out. After all, it wasn't their business.

To them, they were only lucky that sarah chose to include them to her team, and they were already happy for that, trying to do more was nothing less than stupid.

A strange glint flashed through Sarah's eyes, and her lips curled into a slight smile that was almost unnoticeable.

"Fine then." She suddenly said while staring at Harry with an unreadable expression.

'I just can't understand this girl.' Harry thought to himself.

A few minutes later.

Harry and the Elementalist known as Kerr could be seen standing opposite each other.

Unlike Harry who had a rather relaxed expression on his face, Kerr had a wide smile on his face.

According to sarah, Kerr should fight against Harry to prove if he was really more "worthy" of being here.

Since he said Harry wasn't worthy of being in the team due to being an elementalist that only started elemental training about two months ago, he should fight him and if he won, Harry would leave the team.

But if he lost, he would be the one to leave the team.

Of course, Sarah had no plans of taking Harry off the team. She only proposed the idea because she wanted to have a grasp of Harry's strength.

Whether Harry lost or not, it didn't matter, but it was a different case if Kerr lost instead.

Kerr didn't know this and saw this as his chance to humiliate Harry and prove his worth. He had a fourth year student in the academy and was also talented with a high grade fire affinity.

While his family wasn't exactly influential or rich, he still managed to reach the second mana core stage at the age of sixteen, something which was seen as an achievement.

He had also heard about Harry, the student who awakened his affinity late and joined the elemental classes, and it was safe to say he didn't exactly have a good image of Harry in his mind.

In his mind, someone like Harry didn't deserve to join the elemental classes. He had seen Harry a few times back when he was still without a mana core foundation and what he thought of him was pitiful and hopeless.

The thought that someone so pitiful was given a chance to join the elemental classes irked him somewhat, but since they were in different academy years—with Harry being his senior—they don't meet much.

What he didn't expect was to meet such a person in the same team as him, for him, this was a chance. A chance to prove that Harry was a weakling who deserved to be beneath him!

The moment sarah snapped her fingers which was the order for them to start, he dashed forward, casting a tier one spell called flame dash.

Little bursts of flames immediately appeared at the back of his legs, increasing his speed and propelling him forward.

Kerr pulled one of his hand backwards, preparing to launch another spell just as he closed in on Harry.

Harry simply stared at the approaching fire Elementalist with a bored expression.

He had already scanned his stats using [Probe] and saw that except from Kerr's stats being a little higher than that of normal Elementalists, he was nothing special.

Even the speed at which he was approaching him was so slow that even without using any speed boost skills, his eyes could follow him without any difficulty.

'I'll end this quickly.' Harry thought and immediately took a step forward.

Kerr's eyes immediately widened when he suddenly saw Harry vanished from his sight, before he could even react he felt a very heavy fist sink into his stomach, knocking the air out of him.
