'She isn't aware of what's going to happen, then the Elder Gods didn't inform them, I thought they were the chosen ones' Alex mumbled under his breath, immediately a white light shone and quickly enveloped both of them.

Both of their eyes were closed and after a few seconds, they could feel the change in the terrain, both of them quickly opened their eyes and they were now in a huge grassland.

But there were not the only ones there, in front of them were tons of other players with their names and level on their heads, Alex immediately knew the demon Lord was awake.

Both of their clothes changed immediately to the clothes they were wearing in Nova Online, and Melissa had a mask on her face.

"What is happening?" Melissa asked Alex as more players kept appearing till the grassland was filled.

"I have no idea" Alex replied.

'Hey sixth are you there, what is going on' Alex mumbled inwardly but he got no reply.

"Alex" Gabriel's voice spoke from behind, Alex quickly turned around and saw Gabriel and Max walking towards him.

"Are you guys alright?" Alex asked.

"Yeah we are, what about you? Do you know what going on, we saw a white light and suddenly we appeared here" Gabriel said.

"It seems we are in Nova Online" Alex spoke.

"I know but how is that possible, the game hasn't been updated and we didn't even put on our helmets, yet I can see everyone's names and levels," Max said nervously.

"Alex before this happened you knew what was happening right, how did you know?" Melissa asked.

"Huntress..." Gabriel mouthed and Max looked at the girl beside Alex.

"Hi," Melissa said in a low voice.

"That's not the pressing issue now, we are all in danger" Alex shouted.

"Greetings humans, you must be wondering why you are here" a loud voice echoed throughout the whole grassland.

None of the players could see who was speaking but they were able to hear the person's voice, the grassland was now filled with players all of them thinking the same thing, 'why were they here'.

"You guys heard that right?" Max asked.

"Yes..."

"You are here because you are the selected warriors chosen to fight for humanity, Nova Online wasn't a game, it was a test to select worthy humans who would stand a chance at defeating the enemy, I am Aaron Finnegan, the god of games" the voice spoke.

"Is this dude stupid, fight for humanity, that's what the military is for"

"Why are we even in Nova Online, we were in the real world some minutes ago"

Different voices spoke, most of them complaining, most of them insulting Aaron and none of them believed what was happening, they were all like Alex when he first heard about Gods and all.

"Alex is that true?" Melissa asked.

"Yes, it's absolutely true, we aren't going to the real world again till the demon Lord is killed or till we are all wiped out" Alex mumbled.

"What!! what do you mean wiped out?" Max asked.

"It means we'll all be killed, like really killed," Alex said.

"It seems you don't understand the danger the world is in, I'm not here to give you information on what to do, I'm here to explain the situation your world is in" Aaron spoke in a hoarse voice.

Slowly darkness covered the entire grassland and the players on it, the shadow slowly formed into the shape of a giant human.

The human had long black hair with a long beard, he wore a black robe and all the players stared at me with their eyes wide open.

"It seems you don't understand how grave your situation is humans" the giant spoke.

"You are now the guardians of Earth, and your mission is to defeat the demon Lord and his armies of demons and to increase your chances of survival all of you have been given a chance to obtain powerful equipment"

"What!! it's speaking"

"What is that?"

"This isn't funny anymore, take me home"

"Gods, demons, what is he talking about?"

Most of the players were now shaking in fear after seeing a giant in front of them, none of them were prepared for anything like this.

"Alex what is happening?" Max asked.

"Apparently a demon Lord who has been sealed thousands of years ago is back to take his revenge on humans, so the Gods thought of a way to save humanity as they couldn't stop the demon Lord by themselves, that's why Aaron the god of games created Nova Online," Alex said.

"Huh!! what are you talking about, a demon Lord, are you sure of what you are saying?" Max asked.

"This seems like a light novel I read recently" Gabriel spoke.

"I wish it was but this is reality," Alex said.

"So they are Gods and there's a demon Lord, but how did you know all this?" Melissa asked.

"It's a long story and I can't explain now, let's hear what he has to say first, I still don't know where this is going" Alex mouthed.

"The demon Lord is located somewhere in either of the three continents, you all have the choice to choose which continent to be, and the rules of Nova Online are no longer in place, if your HP reaches zero then you would die"

"Once the demon Lord is defeated all the remaining players would be transported back to earth, good luck" The large human disappeared immediately after speaking and a screen appeared in front of the players.

[Location would be randomly selected after 1 minute]

"Wait!! if we die in the game then we are dead for real" Gabriel shouted.

"Yes, and it's no longer a game," Alex said.

"I don't know what's going on but we have to choose a location or else we'll split up," Max said.

"Gabriel, guys" Rebecca shouted as she ran towards them.

"Rebecca are you okay," Gabriel asked as she was already crying.

"I'm fine, I don't understand what's going on, I'm really scared" Rebecca mouthed.

"Alex, where should we select?" Max asked.

"We should choose the Gold Continent, I have a house there and guards and all, I'm a guest of the king of Whitestone, so we can live in the palace," Melissa said.

"That's a good idea," Max said.

"Yes it is, but not for us, we are still low level so starting in the Gold Continent puts us at a disadvantage, we should start in the Bronze Continent," Alex said.

"But you heard what she said right, we don't have to fight, we'll live in the palace safe and sound," Gabriel said.

"Leaving in the palace wouldn't put an end to our problems, and Melissa is supposed to fight the Demon Lord as she is one of the chosen ones"

"What are you talking about, we have only a few seconds left" Max shouted.

"Bronze Continent," Alex said.

"Melmond" Alex spoke and slowly his body began to disintegrate.

"If you guys decide to come, meet me in the potion shop, I'll be waiting, I'll be waiting for you Melissa," Alex said as his body completely vanished.

"I'm going with Alex, I usually trust him in times like this, Rebecca are you coming with me," Gabriel asked.

"Yes," Rebecca quickly said, both of them selected the same city as Alex and they also vanished.

"I'm going with them, are you coming or you are going to the Gold Continent," Max asked Melissa.

"With my powers, I wouldn't encounter any powerful beast or enemies in the Bronze Continent, I'm coming with you guys," Melissa said.

"Okay, we're going," Max said.

"Hey" a voice shouted, Max looked over and saw Lynx running towards him.

"Bronze Continent, Melmond City, potion shop" Max shouted and his body disintegrated.

After a minute players who were shocked by all that was happening and still haven't selected a city was placed at random locations around Nova Online.

"Welcome back, I thought you left the city already," Matthew asked Alex as he walked in.

"Can I wait for my friends here?" Alex asked.

"Yes, take a seat over there" Matthew pointed over to a chair and Alex sat in it, Alex wasn't sure if they would all come with him but he knew Gabriel would surely come with him.

The door opened and Lynx walked into the store, Alex saw him and stood up from his chair and the rest of them walked in.

"I'm surprised you all came, I was expecting only Gabriel" Alex said with a smile.

"Before we think of a plan or anything, you need to explain what's going on first," Max said.
