Chapter 3456 Goodbye

Ashlyn lit up as the moon entered inside her. noVe/lB(In

The light is bright but gentle, and it spreads into every corner of my core. Giving me a feeling I have never felt before and don't think I could comprehend.

It only lasted for a few seconds before it started to recede, till it completely disappeared.

I saw a person standing in front of me, with a beauty and grace that felt overwhelming.

She is wearing a pure white gown and has silvery hair, that seems to have been made of moonlight and purple eyes that seem to contain the whole world inside them.

She was beautiful beyond anything I had seen and looked like a human in their late thirties, but not for a second, I believed she was a human.

"Who are you?" I asked a silly question, and she laughed, which felt like a thousand soft chimes.

"You already know who I am," she replied with a smile.

"I knew you were special from the beginning, but never in my dreams. I thought you would be this," I said, feeling happiness and sadness at the same time.

"You had done a great job raising me, protecting me; without you, I wouldn't have been here," she said with her expressions turning serious.

"I think you would have done just fine without me," I replied, feeling the tears coming into my eyes for no reason.

"So, are you going to leave?" I asked, and a smile on her face dimmed. "You already know the answer to that too," she replied, and I nodded and wiped away my tears.

"I am also going to take this guy," she said, looking at Nero.

"I am not leaving, father and you also shouldn't leave either Ashlyn," said Nero angrily, but she ruffled his head, before taking him from my arms.

He struggled but seemed to understand, his struggles were futile as stopped struggling and glared at her.

"I am sure you would have already guessed some things about Nero,"

"He is different and needs a different environment to grow to survive the tribulation."

"He will not get that while being with you," she said.

I don't like what she said, but I also know it is the truth. As she had said, I had guessed a few things about Nero and understood well that he has different needs that I couldn't fulfill.

"Do you really have to leave now? Can you stay a few more days?" I asked, to which she shook her head and sighed.

"I couldn't. Every minute I stay with, will pose a danger to you," she said. I nodded and turned to Nero.

"Nero, go with your sister," I said to him.

"I don't want to go. I want to stay with you," he said, trying to wriggle out of her arms.

"Ashlyn is your sister. Everything she is doing is doing for you and you should be grateful for that," I said sternly, and sadness filled his eyes as he wriggled.

"I want to stay with you, father," he said softly in a barely audible voice.

"I want you to stay with me too, but I couldn't provide what you need, Nero," I said to him, caressing his head gently.

"I don't need anything other than you, father," he said, bringing more tears to my eyes.

"It is not a forever goodbye, Nero. You will meet your father again," said Ashlyn, and a little happiness returned to his eyes.

"I will return to you, as soon as possible, father," he said and with a resolve in his eyes.

"I know you will, my dear child," I said, with a bittersweet smile on

"Let's say our goodbye to the mistress first, then we will say final goodbye to father," she said to Nero and walked toward the library.

....

"You revered excellency," I said and bowed to the tightness of the mystery moon that appeared in front of me.

"Little titaness," she said, before looking at the door. "They are waiting for you," I informed.

The figure had asked me to wait outside the door. I don't like it, but what choice do I have? The being had complete control of her tower and she had no doubt, if they wished, they could destroy her within a moment.

The titaness of the mystery moon nodded and walked inside the door, with a false titan in her hand.

I closed the door.

I desperately wanted to know what they were are saying inside.

These people were beyond me, even when I was at my peak. If I had succeeded in what I was doing, I would have touched the step of the mountain on which they reside.

Click!

Little over ten minutes later; the titaness came out and turned to me.

"For your," she said, and a silver scroll appeared in her hand, which she handed to me, before walking down the stairs.

"Thank you, your revered excellency," I said and bowed. She smiled and walked away, and finally looked at the scroll she gave me.

There was no heading, so I opened it, and the moment I did, a shock filled my eyes.

For a minute, I couldn't even believe it.

I tried to get that thing for millenniums but never succeeded. Now, she had just given me the thing that was valuable even to her.

....

"It is a goodbye, then?" I asked as they appeared in front of me. "Temporary. I am sure it won't take you long to reach the place I am going," she said, and I smiled.

There is no mirth in it.

"Where you are going?" I asked. "You already know the answer to that," she said, and I smiled, this time genuinely.

I think I could guess where she will go. I still remember the words; the soul of that abomination had spoken.

"Goodbye, both of you. I hope I will become strong enough, to meet both of you as soon as possible," I said.

"I am confident you will," said Ashlyn and hugged me, giving me the same feeling, when the bird Ashlyn used to nestle against me.

The hug lasted for nearly a minute before she let go.

"Take good care of him," I said and kissed Nero's temple. "Nothing will happen to him," she promised and touched my cheek.

"Goodbye, Michael," she said, disappeared. Leaving me alone.

Immediately, the feeling of loneliness struck me; I was feeling lonely like I had never felt before and also crying. I tried to stop the tears, but it seemed like the whole dam had broken.

It took me a while before I was finally able to control my emotions enough to stop crying.

In a matter of a few minutes, the two most important people of my life had left me.

'I will meet them,' I promised myself.

A moment later, I got out of my core, and strings came out of my hand and started to spread around me.

A few minutes later, they came back, and I took a step forward.

Instantly, I appeared out of the slime, and it disappeared into my core.

All three heads turned toward me as I appeared with shock in their eyes. They didn't seem to believe what they were seeing.

"It is time. You cultist bastards pay for what you did," I said to them, with fury blazing in my eyes.
