Chapter 380: Ch.379 Questioning
"Constantine?! Why are you here?"
Bobo sprinted, weaving through the girls' legs, and jumped onto Constantine's table.
The sudden movement caught the attention of the girls, and as soon as they saw Diana, some of them pulled their cloaks over their faces and slipped away through various doorways.
Constantine swirled his glass, "As you can see, I'm here to drink."
Bobo didn't believe a single word of his nonsense. This guy could drink anywhere; if there was nothing going on, he absolutely wouldn't come to the Oblivion Bar.
But everything in the bar seemed normal, and even Constantine had paid, making him a customer.
The Oblivion Bar doesn't turn away customers.
"It better be as you say..."
Bobo gave Constantine a look that could rival Batman's, but he didn't notice anything unusual. Constantine blinked innocently, meeting his gaze.
"Relax, my furry friend. I'm just here for a few drinks, watching the girls play games. I'll head back to London soon."
Su Ming couldn't be bothered to tangle with Constantine. Now that he had the beautiful version of the Hellblazer, who needed the original hobo?
"Constantine."
"Hey, how's it going, Deathstroke from another world? Did the scroll I gave you last time come in handy?"
"Heh, thanks to you, Satan probably wants me dead now." Just thinking about it made Su Ming angry—he'd nearly gotten screwed over last time.
"Uh, magic always comes at a price, doesn't it?" Constantine, thick-skinned as ever, whistled without an ounce of shame.
"No matter, the past is the past." Su Ming appeared quite magnanimous, taking off his helmet and picking up some peanuts from Constantine's table. "Tell me, what do you know about the Inverted Man, Hecate? Spill all you know."
Constantine tilted his head, looking like he was in pain.
"So this magic anomaly is about Hecate? That's just..."
"You don't know?" Su Ming looked at him, slowly drawing the Godslayer sword and placing it on the table. "Quit playing dumb. Tell me some inside information—all those little secrets of you mages."
"I really don't know. Why not ask Miss Colorado by your side?" Constantine said, trying to pull off a charming smile, nodding at Arabella.
Constantine decided not to take the bet. He loved gambling, but he loved his middle finger more.
If he could no longer flip people off, he'd surely go mad.
"You win, but I really don't know more than you do. If you want to find Hecate, you'd better look for Circe. She's Hecate's witch, her follower."
Su Ming nodded slightly, putting the dagger away—this seemed like the truth.
When he was stabbing between Constantine's fingers, Su Ming watched Constantine's pupils and sweat glands, monitored his pulse and blood flow while holding his hand—all indicators showed he wasn't lying.
As for the Dread Feedback Curse, Su Ming wasn't prepared to break it.
But since Arabella was around, Constantine got bluffed, not expecting Arabella to remain silent—let alone set up a counter-curse.
"In that case, just stay here and drink, bye-bye."
For now, they still needed to find Circe. And to avoid getting turned into a pig or a sheep, it was best to get some moly soon.
"Hey, if you're going to find Circe, you'd better get some unicorn blood for the counter-curse. It can dispel magic." Constantine added from behind as the group walked away. As long as he didn't have to do anything, he was happy to offer advice.
Su Ming gave him a displeased look, almost wanting to toss a grenade over.
Although unicorns could indeed do that, they were protected by the world's source. Using unicorn blood—whether drinking or otherwise—would get one cursed by the Red of All Living Things.
When using moly would solve the problem just as well, why play with unicorn blood and get yourself in trouble? The Red of All Living Things was just as disgusting as the Green, and if it didn't kill you, it would still annoy you to death.
So the advice was a trap.
"Save it, I want to live a little longer."
After Su Ming finished speaking, they disappeared through a door.
Traci peeked her head out from behind the bar, and once she saw the group leave, she jumped onto the counter, popped a bottle of champagne, and began spraying it wildly.
"Haha, girls, the boss is gone! Let's party!"
Constantine, however, didn't party. He sat in the corner, his expression serious.
The magic in the air wasn't right. It was swelling.
He could feel the shift, and it was not a good sign.
